Over a billion prescriptions are dispensed every year with a growing importance to how well that is managed within the practice as a key pillar of safety by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Whilst it has increased in prominence we cover the emerging enablers that has improved capacity in primary care as we are all feeling stretched day by day. The emergence of provider entities with the early formation of primary care networks alongside the evolution of the role of Clinical Pharmacists within Primary Care brings in more capacity. The acceptance of electronic prescribing as the mainstay of how patients and the practice remove paper is another reminder on how technology in the right places accelerates the offer we make to our patients. We hope this updated chapter offers a few nuggets of opportunities on what is out there to lessen your load.","PeriodicalId":413688,"journal":{"name":"Handbook of Practice Management","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127282310","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
