The prediction matrices utilized in standard model predictive control (MPC) algorithms are typically constructed using knowledge of a system model, such as state-space or input-output models. Instead, we directly estimate the prediction matrices relating future outputs with current and future inputs from measured data, off-line. Online, the developed data-driven predictive controller reduces to solving a quadratic program with a similar structure and complexity as linear MPC. Additionally, we develop a new procedure for estimating prediction matrices from data for predictive controllers with integral action, corresponding to the rate-based formulation (also called the velocity form model). The effectiveness of the developed data-driven predictive control algorithm is demonstrated in real-life control of a Buck DC-DC converter.","PeriodicalId":413433,"journal":{"name":"2021 25th International Conference on System Theory, Control and Computing (ICSTCC)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133077634","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Compare to the current systems used in the Romanian hospitals, the solution presented in this paper revolves around a web platform, using a NoSQL MongoDB database, as well as a mobile application, that can be used to manage the medical records of a hospital and preview records from a mobile device, based on the readings performed on a Near Field Communication (NFC) chip and the placement of beacons in hospital rooms. This paper aims to emphasize the benefits brought by technology in the medical field, from multiple parties involved: the medical staff (hospital administrators, doctors, nurses), possible adjacent parties (pharmacies, suppliers) and patients.","PeriodicalId":413433,"journal":{"name":"2021 25th International Conference on System Theory, Control and Computing (ICSTCC)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121291059","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main energy driver in the exemplary foundry is the idle time of the batch-wise working sand mixers. In this novel approach, we use linear integer programming to minimize the demand of energy of the sand mixers by scheduling the batches in real-time. For the optimization we use a physical model of the sand preparation, which takes dwell-times of the processes as dead-time systems into account. In this paper, we present the steps to make the optimal scheduling approach applicable for the production process. The application at the real production plant proves the performance of the suggested approach. Compared to the conventional control, the feedback-corrected optimal scheduling approach leads to an reduction in energy consumption of approximately 6.5 % without modifying the process or the aggregates.","PeriodicalId":413433,"journal":{"name":"2021 25th International Conference on System Theory, Control and Computing (ICSTCC)","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129042183","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper we consider the eigenvalue placement from an algebraic point of view. Not all eigenvalues necessarily have to be placed, i.e., we consider a partial eigenvalue placement. In addition, the stability of the remaining dynamics must be ensured. We also exploit degrees of freedom in the controller design of multivariable systems in order to minimize suitable matrix norms of the feedback gain. The required computations are carried out using methods from algebraic geometry such as Gröbner bases and quantifier elimination.","PeriodicalId":413433,"journal":{"name":"2021 25th International Conference on System Theory, Control and Computing (ICSTCC)","volume":"121 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117309086","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, starting from the specific current emergency, an improvement of the well known epidemic SEIR model is proposed, adding the categories of subjects that have received the vaccination, P, and V, corresponding to those that have received one or both doses respectively. Based on the current knowledge, the vaccination avoids the severe effects of the virus but not the contagion; moreover it is estimated that after about 8 months the immune memory can decrease, both for vaccinated subjects and healed ones. These two aspects are considered in this work along with the possible scheduling of the containment measures.","PeriodicalId":413433,"journal":{"name":"2021 25th International Conference on System Theory, Control and Computing (ICSTCC)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127506832","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To illustrate this study, a Parrot Mambo minidrone is considered, for which a complete nonlinear Simulink model is available. To achieve the reachability analysis, the closed-loop system can be approximated by a linear invariant system that can easily be exploited. In this way, forward and backward reachable sets can be evaluated and intersected. We determine that only the short-term analysis is necessary as the system is closed-loop and stabilized. For the Monte Carlo simulation analysis, on the other hand, both the original nonlinear model or its linear approximation can be used and we show equivalent results. This study is a preliminary step towards the analysis of upset flight conditions of multirotor aircrafts.","PeriodicalId":413433,"journal":{"name":"2021 25th International Conference on System Theory, Control and Computing (ICSTCC)","volume":"44 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123199319","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The development of the software solution presented in this paper aims to streamline the measure of isolation at home or quarantine centers. Persons affected by this measure must not leave the quarantine area in any form within the time limit set by the authorities. This software solution proposes a solution by which these people can be monitored by requesting their current location at a specified time interval. This solution assists the competent authorities by eliminating the need to verify quarantined persons by authorized personnel. Thus, those resources can be used for other pandemic prevention purposes.","PeriodicalId":413433,"journal":{"name":"2021 25th International Conference on System Theory, Control and Computing (ICSTCC)","volume":"190 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132044515","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
