This is the generation, which will shape India’s future . Worldwide, suicide is among the top five causes of mortality in the 13 to 19 years of age group. According to world health organization, every year, suicide is committed by at least 8 million people in the world. The number of suicide attempts is probably ten times higher. India occupies the first highest rate of suicides in youth. When corrected for underreporting, these rates are likely to be much higher. While 8,068 students committed suicide in 2014, the number increased to 8,934 in 2015 and to 9,474 in 2016. Materials and Method: A quantitative evaluative study was carry out on school teachers who are handling 6 th to 12 th in government higher secondary school at Karur Tamil Nadu. A total of 50 teachers were selected by convenient sampling techniques. Data was collected using self-administered questionnaire. Data were analyzed in term of descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: The study revealed that the pre-test, before the administration of planned teaching programme, 5 (10%) school teachers had inadequate level knowledge, 42 (84%) school teachers had moderate level of knowledge and 3 (6%) school teachers had adequate level of knowledge. In the post-test, after the administration of planned teaching programme, no school teachers had inadequate level knowledge, 7 (14%) school teachers had moderate level of knowledge and 43 (86%) school teachers had adequate level of knowledge. The chi-square shows that there is significance association between residential area of teachers and Educational status of the teachers, However, remaining all are have no significance association with age, Gender, religion, total experience, history of suicide, marital status and previous knowledge about suicidal prevention. Unemployment, poor health, accidents, suicide, mental illness, and decreased life expectancy all have drug misuse as a major common contributing factor. Substance abuse has a major impact on individuals, families, and communities. Patients with disabilities often use prescription medications to battle painful conditions, many of which have high potential for addiction. The presented review was developed in response to the publication of several studies addressing problems of substance abuse among the disabled adolescents. Online database search was performed in Pubmed, Cinhal, Medline and relevant studies were included with no language restriction. Following on from this, databases were accessed to enable a more in depth search of the literature using key words and Boolean operators to generate articles relevant to the topic. These articles were filtered using an inclusion /exclusion criteria in order to refine the results to a manageable level or eight articles. These eight articles were analyzed and the results reported that prevalence rates of SU(D) among individuals with MBID range from almost non-existent to highly prevalent. Within MBID populations, it appears that because of a lack of systematic screening and assessment of SU(D), SU is often overlooked and remains undetected. SUD prevention should start at a young age for children with MBID and all treatment interventions should be tailored to the needs of those with MBID.","PeriodicalId":413423,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advanced Psychiatric Nursing","volume":"61 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122360562","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An experimental study was conducted using Modified WHOQOL-BREF scale in two settings among randomly selected 60 samples. Intervention group had physical exercise, group work and recreational activities for two weeks. Statistical significance in the overall QOL of elderly in experimental group was found through paired and unpaired t test.
