This research aims to identify the features of Vladimir Nabokov’s lingua-colour worldview associated with the use of English and Russian in self-translation. Lists of colouremes of the original and translated Lolita are made; their part-of-speech facet is analyzed; dominant coloronyms are identified and compared; structural peculiarities of the selected colours in both lists are studied. The novelty of the work lies in the creation of English and Russian lexicons and frequency dictionaries of representatives of Nabokov’s color worldview, which gives objective data about the linguistic personality basing on idiolect. Along with quantitative method, the work uses the method of systematic scientific description, via which the multidimensional systematization of empirical material is conducted and the comparative method implemented in observation, comparison and interpretation techniques for the received language data. The article notes both common and specific features in the two color lexicons. With a comparable number of English and Russian colouremes, the translation language is more coloristic. Part-of-speech differences of colours are noted. In complete lists chromatic designations predominate, they are more frequent in Russian. Among the dominants achromatic colors outweigh, English achromatisms prevail. Numerous hapaxes and complex coloremes, rarely equivalent, contribute to the palette diversity. The main causes of inconsistencies are identified. The author comes to the conclusion that the ways of lexicalizing the color perceptions of the bilingual writer-translator are modified when switching to the target language that indicates differences in Nabokov’s worldview.","PeriodicalId":41205,"journal":{"name":"Vestnik Sankt-Peterburgskogo Universiteta-Yazyk i Literatura","volume":"89 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84438412","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The transmedia project is considered in the research as a communicative heterogeneous space for the creation of fictional worlds and universes that exist simultaneously in various media formats and are coherently interconnected by certain creative components that allow effectively achieving the communication goal. The study offers an empirically tested procedural scheme containing a logical sequence of certain elements: the type of project, a typical feature of a transmedia project, a relevant creative communicative indicator and a target marker of communication effectiveness. The novelty of the approach lies in the possibility of updating the procedural scheme proposed in the framework of the transmedia project in the real communication space through the identification of dominant target communicative markers. Using a critical thematic analysis of three different types of transmedia projects implemented in various industries, a modeling scheme of a universal procedural mechanism for the effectiveness of creative communicative activity is proposed, empirically derived and emphasizing individual features of a creative communicative act, with a projection of success or failure markers of communication, identified according to the dominant target principle of identifying relevant creative elements.","PeriodicalId":41205,"journal":{"name":"Vestnik Sankt-Peterburgskogo Universiteta-Yazyk i Literatura","volume":"160 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135914658","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It also shows, basing on the criterion of subject-object relations, the possibility of syntactic transformations with other basic verbs following two possible ways: existentiality — stativeness — locativity and activeness — possession. Depending on the semantic characteristics of the names that fill the positions of actants within the configuration of the sentence patterns with the verb of possession with real or fictitious subjects (agents) and objects (patients), four types are distinguished: 1) animate subject — animate object; 2) animate subject — inanimate object; 3) inanimate subject — animate object; 4) inanimate subject — inanimate object. The analysis of the empirical material presented in the article allows us to assert that the role of the verb of possession as the most important structural element in the expression of predicativity in the Ibero-Romance area is very significant. A separate section of the article presents data showing that the features of the functioning of the possession verbs in the Ibero-Romance languages can be explained as a result of interference with the ancient pre-Roman language of the Iberian Peninsula — Basque.","PeriodicalId":41205,"journal":{"name":"Vestnik Sankt-Peterburgskogo Universiteta-Yazyk i Literatura","volume":"50 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79898747","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Searle and D.Vanderveken underlies the study of exercitive speech act as the act of objection/protest expressed by prepositions contro and against ‘против’. Historically, protest as a genre goes back to the Ancient rhetorical tradition, but in the 20th century, it has also become an aesthetic foundation of the Avant-garde poetic discourse. The expression of protest and a critical attitude towards the dominant discourse become one of the grounds for the interaction of the Avant-garde poetic and political discourses. Discourse and linguopragmatic analysis of the Italian Futurists’ manifestos is carried out from the standpoint of the linguistic creativity that manifests itself in the form of the Avant-garde linguistic experiment. Further, the Italian Neo-avant-garde (Neoavanguardia, Gruppo ‘63) develops the idea of confronting linguistic and cultural norms in its poetical texts and manifestoes like Linguaggio e opposizione (1961) by Nanni Balestrini or Ideologia e linguaggio (1965) by Edoardo Sanguineti. The markers of adversative semantics include such grammatical and lexico-grammatical means as но, однако, впрочем, против, напротив, вопреки, наперекор; ma, anzi, mentre, però, bensì, pure, eppure, contro, piuttosto, etc. The paper focuses on the pragmatic and semantic features of the preposition contro as one of the most frequent opposition markers in the Italian Futurists’ manifestos. The study distinguishes methods of deviation from standard use, aimed at increasing the illocutionary force and the performative potential of the message.","PeriodicalId":41205,"journal":{"name":"Vestnik Sankt-Peterburgskogo Universiteta-Yazyk i Literatura","volume":"10 3 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76323356","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For the media linguistics research, the most important paratext components of publications in Telegram channels were selected, namely: nickname and slogan, which, combining many posts into integrity, are aimed at establishing contact, identifying, informing, advertising and highlighting the channel among others. It was found out that due to the specifics of the technological conditions of speech interaction in Telegram, these paratext components become zones of speech creativity of telegramers and undergo polyparametric language transformations. Linguistic innovations in naming and sloganistics of three thematically diverse groups of Telegram channels — about politics, science and entertainment — are considered. As a result, linguocreative techniques were established in the channel’s paratext, the role of discourse createms in the process of participants’ communicative adaptation to new technological conditions was revealed. Linguocreative techniques in the channels naming consist in the use of specific word-formation, lexical and syntactic resources of the language, which are adapted to the needs of politically, scientifically or entertainment-oriented communication. Linguistic innovation in sloganistics is determined by the desire to draw attention to the channel as a whole and to its individual messages, which forces the participants of telegram communication to mobilize such means of linguistic creativity that update the repertoire of linguistic means for naming speech activity. The research of linguocreativity in the Telegram channel paratext opens up broad prospects for the study of linguistic innovations in the metatext and intratext components of the media text created in new technological conditions.","PeriodicalId":41205,"journal":{"name":"Vestnik Sankt-Peterburgskogo Universiteta-Yazyk i Literatura","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82029229","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This term refers to word combinations usually classified as synesthetic metaphors, despite the fact that they do not imply multimodality, because only one of the words contains a sensory semantic component (e. g. bitter love, sweet desire). The research is based on a parallel multilingual corpus including the original text of V.Nabokov’s Lolita in English (1955) and its Russian (1967) and French (1959, 2001) translations. The work’s objective is to determine the place of ideasthesia in the context of the study of linguistic synaesthesia and to examine the semantic structure of ideasthetic word combinations. Ideasthetic word combinations are being considered in comparison with synaesthetic (both words contain sensory semantic component related to different modalities) and monosthetic ones (both words contain sensory semantic components related to the same modality). In total, 637 word combinations have been identi-fied, 73% of which are ideastetic, 20% are synaesthetic, and 7% are monostetic. 465 phrases with ideasthesia have been analysed. The classification of lexical groups interacting with sensory vocabulary in ideasthetic word combinations have been proposed. 11 semantic classes have been identified: anthroponyms (19% of the total number of ideasthetic contexts), emotions and feelings (17%), time periods (12%), qualities of a person (10%), discourse (10%), physical actions (9%), mental actions and states (7%), physical characteristics (7%), physical sensations (5%), body parts (2%), and toponyms (2%).","PeriodicalId":41205,"journal":{"name":"Vestnik Sankt-Peterburgskogo Universiteta-Yazyk i Literatura","volume":"16 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80933229","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In contrast, this article suggests a different perspective on the problem of Sumarokov’s literary legacy. Based on the analysis of the narrative potential of the June issue of “Hardworking Bee”, the study proposes to look at the public activity of Sumarokov the publisher as a special communicative strategy. The journal began to claim the formation of a public sphere, offering its conception of personal and social identity. Sumarokov’s journal became an entirely new institution with its audience, along with literary and scientific societies, secular salons, public theatres, and Masonic lodges. The article contains historical commentary and interpretation of the historical-literary and personal contexts of June 1759. The aim of the article is to study the journal metatext of the June issue of “Hardworking Bee”, to examine the problematics and poetics of the texts published in it. The article uses methods of literary studies: historical-typological, cultural-historical, biographical and comparative-historical. The study demonstrates that Sumarokov’s metatextual narrative realized a new model of cyclization for Russian literature. At the lowest, ordinary level, the reader could remain a profane, and at the highest level the reader the reader is turned into a hermetic wise man. We can conclude that Sumarokov’s journal “Hardworking Bee” stimulated the creation of most monthly editions not only in the Russian 18th century. The article emphasizes the importance of Sumarokov’s experience as a publisher and editor for the evaluation of his creativity in general.","PeriodicalId":41205,"journal":{"name":"Vestnik Sankt-Peterburgskogo Universiteta-Yazyk i Literatura","volume":"160 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135914643","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The meaning of the lexemes included here assumes that a certain situation is repeated, and the speaker considers the number of such repetitions to be high. The analysis is carried out on the base of the compatibility of these adverbs in the Corpus. First, the indicators of the logDice association measure (the distance between collocates from –6 to 6 tokens) are considered, it is shown that the lists of words ranked by this measure are mostly the same for both lexemes, veľakrát has a certain specificity, which has a high degree of association with adverbial modifiers marking an extremely high frequency of a situation, or with constructions suggesting a detailed explication of its causes. The frequency context of the appearance of both adverbs in the text is thus a comparison of the real state of affairs with the desired one. In the second part of the article, the joint occurrence of adverbs from this semantic group is considered, including the compatibility of mnohokrát and veľakrát with the more frequent adverbs často and neraz. In this case, mnohokrát and veľakrát are used either for a detailed explication of the state of affairs, or to indicate directly observed situations. As follows from the analysis, the adverbs mnohokrát and veľakrát are almost complete synonyms, the difference between them is that the specified specificity of the meaning (high frequency of repetition, direct observability) is more pronounced in veľakrát than in mnohokrát.","PeriodicalId":41205,"journal":{"name":"Vestnik Sankt-Peterburgskogo Universiteta-Yazyk i Literatura","volume":"64 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89862824","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study considers discourse to be a complex linguistic unit of an overtext level, which includes texts, utterances, and various communication forms that are encompassed by a knowledge system and correspond to a certain social context. In creating the context of a speech act, all its participants are involved. Special role is also devoted not only to the interaction of utterances but also to the social context they are used in. Combined, these factors create a multidimensional discourse space. Discourse, being the result of chains of utterances united by the topic, constitutes the surrounding reality. We studied the formation of the reality with the means of discourse on the materials of the vaccine discourse, with its development being based on different opinions. We analyzed linguistic features of the German vaccine discourse using discussions and debates in the Bundestag, which took place in spring 2022. We detected major features of the vaccine discourse: polarization, diversity, and incompleteness. The examples prove argumentation to be central in forming the discourse, as it is used by the individuals when seeking the truth. We defined the most important argument strategies and characterized linguistic means responsible for the emotionally polarizing part of the discourse. We detected the relationship of different discourse levels having analyzed discourse contextualization. Moreover, we demonstrated how the microlevel of discourse, which is associated with vaccination, creates impulses for its development to the macrolevel reflecting German democratic challenges.","PeriodicalId":41205,"journal":{"name":"Vestnik Sankt-Peterburgskogo Universiteta-Yazyk i Literatura","volume":"121 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135914525","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Research methodology relies on the theory of classes, its explanatory potential is analyzed as regards the meaning and usage of the indefinite article as well as the word order in the attributive group which features more than one attribute. The research also relies on the frame approach which governs the usage of the definite article. The frame is treated in terms of the non-random link (binding, bond) between the object referred to and the frame, the frame approach being also instrumental in defining metonymical transfers. Definiteness is defined by the author as the result of the speaker’s cognitive operation to assign the object some “unique” — under given circumstances — features which distinguish it from other objects (of the same class of objects). Such distinction is performed by a variety of linguistic means, such as anaphora, restrictive post-modifying attributes (cataphora), using cardinal numbers, superlative-degree adjectives, and using triggers (words or general context, in other words, a frame) which oblige the speaker to refer to the inalienable element of the frame, which is a singular object in the frame, with the definite article, without any prior mentioning it, or any other above modifier.","PeriodicalId":41205,"journal":{"name":"Vestnik Sankt-Peterburgskogo Universiteta-Yazyk i Literatura","volume":"65 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135914539","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
