The aim is to develop an automatic method for enhance the accuracy and precision of pulse onset detection without ECG assistance (R peaks as reference). The approach is composed by two stages: pulse delineator and onset decision. Pulse delineator is based on amplitude and time thresholds computation in time and frequency domain respectively, for locating each pulse wave. Decision stage is based on triangle area algorithm that computes on each pulse the triangle area successive with two fix points and one mobile. The mobile point that corresponds to higher area is the pulse onset. Pulse delineator stage of proposed method was evaluated with CSL database, and their results were comparable to other pulse detection algorithm. Simultaneous ECG and PPG records were used to evaluate the repeatability of proposed method for several signal-noise ratios, as well as the concordance respect to trained observers. The performance of proposed method was compared with ECG assisted methods, such as tangents intersection, diastolic point and second derivative. The approach obtained acceptable values of sensitivity (> 97.99 %), positive predictivity (> 97.91 %), failed rate detection (< 4.11 %) and error (< 5.78 ± 6.64 ms). This proposal found the repeatability condition for each signal-noise ratios. This method could be used on medical systems that need the pulse onset to compute diagnostic markers.","PeriodicalId":411709,"journal":{"name":"MOJ Applied Bionics and Biomechanics","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116820386","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The absorption spectra of standard solutions and samples were measured in the wavelength range of 210 to 290 nm with a step size of 0.5 nm. The concentrations of PAR and COP in the sample solutions were calculated using a self-made program written in Microsoft Excel 2016 and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). The reliability of the method was verified through the accuracy and reproducibility of the measurements when analyzing PAR and COP in Effer-Paralmax® Codeine tablets, and comparing the average values of their concentrations in the samples with the standard HPLC method.","PeriodicalId":411709,"journal":{"name":"MOJ Applied Bionics and Biomechanics","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114894757","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study is based on 3D models generated from CT scan data from patients with hip replacements. The results indicated that the distribution of the load on the femur and cotyle varies according to the different positions of the cotyle. A mathematical model has been developed by considering the left ventricle as an ellipsoidal shell. The structural non-homogeneity of the ventricle has been taken into account by considering the three distinct layers that exist in the left ventricle. The study pertains to an early stage of formation of the aneurysm (bulging), when the damage area is not too large. In view of this,it is assumed that the ellipsoidal geometry of the left ventricle is preserved, even after the formation of the aneurysm and also that the volumes of the three individual muscle layers after infarction remain equal to the respective volumes before infarction. The theoretical study has been performed by employing suitable analytical methods. The derived analytical expressions have been computed, by taking appropriate values of different parameters involved in the study. The results have been validated in a proper way.","PeriodicalId":411709,"journal":{"name":"MOJ Applied Bionics and Biomechanics","volume":"10 4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130482309","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
