With the exponential growth in education sector of Pakistan and the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the role of HRIS has considerably expanded for all stakeholders, particularly faculty members of universities. This study aims to explore the factors that motivate universities to implement HRIS, the role of HRIS in enhancing the productivity of faculty members, and the constraints associated with the use of HRIS. This qualitative study follows the descriptive phenomenology approach to explore the significance of HRIS for faculty members. Non-probability purposeful sampling was used to select 14 faculty members who were interviewed at seven Pakistani universities. The study establishes that HRIS is considered a valuable technology for streamlining HR functions of universities in general and faculty members in particular.","PeriodicalId":41156,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Organisational Studies and Innovation","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2023-01-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88449647","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research modelled the factors influencing tourists’ behavioural intentions tourism in Pakistan. Factors affecting the intentions of the tourists to visit a particular destination have been identified in this research. Primary data has been collected through questionnaires from respondents of various nationalities. Smart PLS has been used to apply SEM “Structural Equation Modelling approach” for hypothesis testing. The findings supported that destination satisfaction and destination attachment play an imperative role in the intentions of tourists to visit a location. More attached the visitors were with the destination, better the image they had of the destination, the satisfied they were with the destination and would therefore plan to visit it more often. The derivations from the analysis can play a pivot role in developing the policies and appropriate measures to enhance tourism industry in different countries. Attachment of the tourists and their image of the destination assumed a prominent role in their anticipation to visit Pakistan.","PeriodicalId":41156,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Organisational Studies and Innovation","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2022-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81889899","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research being conducted focuses on the identification of a model describing BI operation, the points of need/provision of information as necessary to support decision-making for the management and monitoring of the system efficiency and effectiveness. One of the by-products of the conducted research has been the opportunity to suggest some metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) specifically designed to measure process operation effectiveness and efficiency (including the impact of residents’ failure before or after graduation). The defined metrics and KPI address mostly the internal operation and management of a Business Incubators with the aim to maximise efficiency and effectiveness of the process while catering for residents’ needs.","PeriodicalId":41156,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Organisational Studies and Innovation","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2022-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79670900","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Subsequently, this study evaluates as to what extent active stock investors are financially literate at basic and advanced level and test whether basic and advanced financial literacy moderate the effects of behavioural biases on stock buying decisions. Five-point Likert scale has been used to measure the reflective constructs of behavioural biases and stock buying decisions. Sample size of 326 respondents from Karachi and Hyderabad cities in Pakistan has been used, employing convenience sampling, to analyze the data using descriptive statistics and Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling. Out of seven biases tested, Anchoring and Adjustment bias is found to have negative significant effect on stock buying decisions while Herd Mentality bias and Availability bias are found to have significant positive effect on stock buying decisions. Active stock investors were found to have high level of basic financial literacy whereas advanced financial literacy was present at a moderate level. Basic financial literacy moderates the association between herd mentality bias and stock buying decisions while advanced financial literacy moderates the relationship between mental accounting bias and stock buying decisions.","PeriodicalId":41156,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Organisational Studies and Innovation","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2022-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47542116","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study utilised the qualitative research methodology within the constructivist paradigm to explore Malaysian higher education institution administrator’s perceptions and experiences on rightsizing practice. Semi-structured, face-to-face interviews with observations and document analysis were conducted. This study found four principal rightsizing objectives within the context of higher education institution administrators: i) changing policies; ii) organisation scanning; iii) human resource planning, and; iv) human resource optimisation. Managing shrinkage via rightsizing also includes recognising the rightsizing process, strategies, and barriers. It is essential to understand the implication of rightsizing exercise, especially in the public sector, to prevent organisations from making “wrong-sizing” decisions. Constant evaluation of the rightsizing efforts should also be done to ensure that the organisation operates in a lean and mean manner.","PeriodicalId":41156,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Organisational Studies and Innovation","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2022-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48611494","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed model may also help planning the functioning and structure of BI / BA specific Information Management System (IMS) focused on data provision for strategy and decision support. The proposed approach is aligned with the intent to maximise process efficiency and effectiveness in supporting residents as well as granting them all the functionalities of a large corporate IMS while attending the program, additionally, it offers the possibility to generate extra income by providing alumni with IMS services at cost (thus creating a new model of BI / BA which operates also as a service provider).","PeriodicalId":41156,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Organisational Studies and Innovation","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2022-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41440066","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To ensure the sustainability of their business and meet market needs, the owner-managers these days, switch the functioning of SMEs from traditional to latest technological frameworks. However, even after adoption, local SMEs are still not fully able to exploit and reap the benefits of information and communication technologies (ICTs). To understand this issue, this research focuses on two research objectives. First, it highlights the impact of ICT usage on SMEs. And, second, it tries to identify different factors that affect the ICTs adoption in SMEs. Main contribution of this research is that it extends the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) on two antecedents of Perceived Usefulness (PU) and Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU) as a theoretical framework. For this research, qualitative interviews were conducted from ten (10) owner-managers of SMEs in Pakistan. A careful thematic analysis of interview data reveals the emergence of five different themes: the impact of ICT usage on SMEs, cultural decisions, factors affecting the adoption of ICT in SMEs, entrepreneurial characteristics of owner-managers, and the role of governments and institutional support leading to successful adoption of ICT in SMEs. Findings of this study have significance for SME’s owner-managers, government bodies, and relevant business authorities who wish to address issues pertaining to the adoption and increase in ICT usage among SMEs in Pakistan.","PeriodicalId":41156,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Organisational Studies and Innovation","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2022-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43139050","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper aims to study the impact of national and international celebrity endorsement on consumer purchase intention towards high and low involvement products. An experimental research design has been implied in this research study. To test the influence of celebrity endorsement on consumer purchase intention, 150 university faculty members and students divided into six treatments were conducted. The results of this experiment show that buyers, when it comes to purchasing a low involvement product, can rely on ads which are endorsed by international celebrities. On the other hand, when there is a question of purchasing a high involvement product they trust market offerings that are being endorsed by national celebrities.","PeriodicalId":41156,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Organisational Studies and Innovation","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2021-11-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41257247","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
