We have used Gold as the noble metal to generate and optimize the resonance between plasmons and electromagnetic wave. We have presented several noteworthy characteristics of this particular structure that can be taken into consideration while designing a biosensor/sensor with specific sensing requirements. The results presented here are obtained from a thorough numerical simulation using finite element modelling of the problem via `Wave Optics' module of the `COMSOL Multiphysics' software. Spectral responses of the sensor configuration in energy domain, with varying analytes and structural properties have been evaluated and their pros and cons have also been observed and discussed. Finally, a modified grating structure has been presented that has more practically executing potential than the basic structure and can be optimized using the same principle as presented for the basic structure earlier.","PeriodicalId":410572,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE International Conference on Telecommunications and Photonics (ICTP)","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125927207","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The expressions of the signal power at the output of the different cores of the MCF with excitation to any one of the cores is found out along with the crosstalk due to coupling among the cores. Finally, the expression for Signal to Crosstalk plus Noise Ratio (SCNR) at the output of the excited core of the MCF is found. The Bit Error Rate (BER) for a given input power is then determined numerically for given data rate and different MCF parameters and transmission distance. The outcome of this research work will be useful to design fiber optic system with Multi-core Multi-mode fiber running at BER comparable to single mode fiber links.","PeriodicalId":410572,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE International Conference on Telecommunications and Photonics (ICTP)","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134118092","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A Self Consistent model using 6-band k.p method incorporating strain effect due to lattice mismatch, valence band mixing effect, carrier screening effect and both spontaneous and piezoelectric polarization effect has been adopted to calculate the electronic properties of the structure. With the variation of the structural parameters, the detail illustration of the variations of the device characteristics are demonstrated in this work. From the investigation, it has been found that the structure shows a maximum optical output of 6636.8 cm-1 at 425nm emission wavelength for 7A delta width, 12A well width, 60A barrier width and 5×1019 cm-3 carrier density at 300K. Detail relationship between the performance parameters of the structure has been elaborated in this work to obtain the conditions for maximum output of the structure. The sound stimuli are produced utilizing the natural glottal source and morphed linear predictive coding (LPC) filtering coefficients, which represent the vocal tract states. An algorithm has been proposed for determination of impersonation quality based on the redundancies of the canonical variates for the morphed sounds. The redundancy is defined by canonical variate loading factor and corresponding canonical correlation coefficient. The quality of imitated speech for different impersonators is evaluated by applying the proposed algorithm.","PeriodicalId":410572,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE International Conference on Telecommunications and Photonics (ICTP)","volume":"66 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117347252","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Data are taken using MATLAB and the simulation software called Optisystem 13. The techniques are compared in terms of their bit error rate (BER) with respect to electrical energy to the noise power ratio (Eb/N0) in presence of additive white Gaussian noise in case of optical wireless channel and by thermal noise in case of optical fiber channel. Different forms of Quadrature Amplitude modulation (QAM) have been used for modulating the OFDM signal such as 4-, 16-, 64 and 256-QAMs. After the final analysis, it is seen that ACO-OFDM requires a lower power to reach the target BER of 10-4 compared to DCO-OFDM and Flip-OFDM in both optical wireless and fiber channels. In the last part, the three bipolar OFDM systems are analyzed by observing their receiver sensitivity using PIN photodiode in 25 km optical fiber channel. The result shows that ACO-OFDM has a better sensitivity than DCO-OFDM and Flip-OFDM.","PeriodicalId":410572,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE International Conference on Telecommunications and Photonics (ICTP)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128945138","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The applications of underwater sensing has several domain that range from oil industry to aquaculture. Some of the UWSN applications includes device checking, underwater ecosystems monitoring, forecasting of natural disasters and disturbances, exploration and survey missions, as well as study of oceanic life. With the characteristics and applications platform of UWSN, security of UWSN is a critical issue and had drawn significant attention to the researchers. In order to have a functional UWSN to extract the authentic data safeguarding and protection mechanisms are crucial. Malicious node attacks has accomplished eminence and constitute the utmost challenging attacks to UWSN. Several research has been conducted to protect UWSN from malicious attacks but majority of the works depend on a defined threshold prior to the deployment or a training data set. It is a complication and challenge for UWSN that with no established security groundwork a UWSN required to detect the malicious attacks. In this paper, we support vector machine to identify the malicious attacks in a UWSN. SVM delivers good result and its training time is much smaller comparing with neural networks.","PeriodicalId":410572,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE International Conference on Telecommunications and Photonics (ICTP)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132846387","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Consequently, optical transport network has evolved towards Elastic Optical Network (EON). Despite the effort made towards efficient and reliable network management, interoperability problem in multi-vendor setting of the EON remains unsolved and it hinders the network management and monitoring. Hence, Network operators need to rely on the proprietary management solutions. This phenomenon poses complexity in network configuration, control, monitoring and management and also in turn results in higher Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) and Operational Expenditure (OPEX) for the service providers. In this paper, standard data definition model of network elements of EON is presented for configuration, management and monitoring purpose. Standard YANG data models for the network elements, namely, Reconfigurable Optical Add/drop Multiplexer (ROADM), Bandwidth Variable Transponder (BVT) and Optical amplifier (OA) are presented. The implementation scenario for the developed data definition models are demonstrated for managing state of the art EON. It is contended that the adoption of these standard YANG data models within the NETCONF protocol not only facilitates the network configuration and management, but also improves the multi-vendor interoperability in the control and management plane of the EON.","PeriodicalId":410572,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE International Conference on Telecommunications and Photonics (ICTP)","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127365661","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
