In this paper, for 8.7 GHz, we optimize three parameters such as step transition, conical horn length and aperture length of Pickett-Potter horn reflector antenna to increase bandwidth level. We design and test the antenna within Ansoft HFSS antenna simulator. For each optimize design parameter, measured return loss is -30 dB. Transfer function of the 2×2 MIMO power line is considered and BER results for a binary PSK link is evaluated numerically for different power line parameters. However, slower propagation speeds of acoustic waves introduce various performance bottlenecks including substantial operational delay. On the other hand, in spite of higher attenuation of EM signal in underwater environment, it can be useful for short-range networks requiring faster navigation. In light of this, this paper proposes and investigates an EM wave based AUV navigation system using underwater sensor network (UWSN) in shadow fading environment. Extensive simulations are carried out for evaluating the reliability and delay performance of the proposed system. AUV navigation performance under various network settings is thoroughly investigated and critically analyzed. It is intended for remote control and sensor applications. ZigBee is designed to use low power digital radio signals for personal area networks which require secure networking. The use of the ZigBee protocol accommodates and facilitates for carrying out secure communications, ciphering frames and controlling devices, protecting establishment and transport of cryptographic keys. This paper presents a security enhancement technique for ZigBee by modifying the MAC layer. This work also serves enhanced security processing in Network and Application layer of ZigBee protocol. The improved security mechanism of Network and Application layer has been developed using Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and proxy firewall techniques respectively. Riverbed v17.5 is used to simulate and scrutinize different ZigBee layers to enrich security. The result of this study provides reliable and stable ZigBee protocol scheme to end users. Furthermore, the paper shows security adoption in MAC, Network, and Application layers of ineligible nodes, packets, and data blocks. Photovoltaic dark current, current-voltage responses at 15nm, 28nm, 59.5nm and 70nm thick Titanium Di-oxide layer indicate the ratio of power output from the solar cell to input power from the sun on thin silicon solar cell has been augmented by AR coating along with Indium nanoparticles. For bare silicon cell and Indium particle deposited, 59.5 nm thick spacer layer coated Si cell short circuit currents were 2.64mA and 3.81 mA respectively. The maximum short circuit current enhancement was observed as 44.32%while conversion efficiency was increased by 40.42% in comparison to simple silicon solar cell. The efficiency depends on the spectrum, the temperature and parasitic resistances of the solar cell. Therefore, conditions under which efficiency is measured must be sensibly controlled to evaluate the performance of the device. We provide visual representation of the relations between frequency and corresponding power level as well as we compute duty cycle. The duty cycle from the measured data is obtained as 19%. Majumder","doi":"10.1109/ICTP.2015.7427949","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/ICTP.2015.7427949","url":null,"abstract":"Analytical approach is presented to evaluate the effect of weak atmospheric turbulence on the bit error rate (BER) performance of an optical code division multiple access (OCDMA) free space optical (FSO) link using optical domain encoder and Sequence Inverse Keying (SIK) balanced photodetector receiver. The analysis is carried out to find the expression of the signal current and multi access interference (MAI) current at the output of the SIK receiver considering the effect of atmospheric turbulence of the channel. The conditional BER conditioned on a given atmospheric turbulence is evaluated and the average BER is obtained by averaging the conditional BER over the probability density function (pdf) of atmospheric turbulence. The results are evaluated for different code length, number of simultaneous users, turbulence variances and other system parameters. The performance of an OCDMA link is found to be highly degraded due to atmospheric scintillation and the power penalty due to turbulence effect is of the order of 2 to 10 dB depending on the turbulence variance. For example, power penalty is 3 dB to 10 dB at a BER of 10-9 for 12 numbers of users at 1 Gbps corresponding to turbulence variance 0.01 to 0.3 respectively. Cardinality estimation of a network can be performed using protocol based techniques. But, underwater environment makes these protocol based methods inefficient in underwater network. To solve this problem, underwater network cardinality has been estimated using cross-correlation of the received Gaussian signals at multiple sensors. In cross-correlation based approach, the sensors are placed at the centre of the network for better estimation performance. This may not be possible in some practical cases. So, it is essential to introduce a new cardinality estimation technique which is equally effective for both central and random placement of sensors. In this paper, cardinality estimation is performed with central and random placement of sensors within the network which make the estimation process more flexible. Using COMSOL Multiphysics 5.0, the continuity equations for charge carriers are solved considering proper initial and boundary conditions. For mammography, the calculated X-ray sensitivity of PTAA is 0.2690 μC/cm2R at an applied field of 10 V/μm. The X-ray sensitivity of amorphous selenium (a-Se) is also determined for mammography and compared with that of PTAA.
