ADAS consists of an appropriate computer platform that processes information collected using various types of sensors during driving. Usually, ADAS warns the driver or acts independently on the vehicle control system (e.g. automatic braking) to prevent possible accident. One of the very common ADAS is a lane departure warning system which warns the driver when a vehicle starts to leave a driving lane unintentionally. Such system is based on the processing of an image obtained by a front-view camera. In this paper one such system is proposed which is based on traditional computer vision techniques and is implemented on ADAS Alpha board with Texas Instruments TDA2xx System-On-Chip. The proposed system is evaluated on images taken from Kitti dataset and on recorded video sequences taken in suburban areas.","PeriodicalId":410503,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Symposium ELMAR","volume":"519 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123132531","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the possible usages is for Broadcast TV applications. This paper is testing the possibility of 4K video signal contribution through the commercially available public 5G network. In this paper a proof of concept for the implementation of a 4K video transmission in real time over 5G network is presented. For video coding HEVC H.265 compression standard was used. By changing the levels of compression efficiency different transmission rates were tested. The obtained results demonstrate the feasibility of transmission of 4K video signal over 5G network.","PeriodicalId":410503,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Symposium ELMAR","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124989718","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To achieve this task, forward-looking sensors like RADAR, LiDAR, and camera are widely used for object detection and classification. Accurate range information at several closely distributed points from the object’s outer surface gives the LiDAR sensor an advantage for estimating the shape and size of the opponent object. Though the LiDAR sensor can provide accurate range information in point cloud data, there are some variations in intensity values and no. of points reflected from objects with different colors. In this paper, we analyze the differences in the LiDAR intensities and no. of point clouds received from different colored objects by recording LiDAR data of three different colored cars at varied orientation angles and distances from the LiDAR sensor in similar environmental conditions and the impact it might have in perception of vehicle surrounding. The results show that the color of the object has a considerable influence on the LiDAR data and can affect the output of the pre-crash estimation algorithms. This highlights the need to further investigate this effect to improve the pre-crash estimation algorithms by considering the behavior of the variation in the LiDAR data based on the object color.","PeriodicalId":410503,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Symposium ELMAR","volume":"92 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114702955","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, most of these schemes are either inefficient due to both high communication and computational costs, or do not fully offer the required levels of both privacy and security. To address some of these issues, this paper proposed elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) based lightweight key management and mutual authentication protocol for the smart home environment. The performance evaluation of the proposed protocol was accomplished using communication costs, computation overheads, throughput and end-to-end- delays (EED). On the other hand, widely applied Dolev–Yao and Canetti-Krawczyk models were deployed for security evaluation of the proposed protocol. The simulation results showed that this protocol exhibited the least communication and computation overheads, and had the least impact on both throughput and EED compared with related schemes. Moreover, it was robust against conventional smart home attacks such as replay, forgery, impersonation and man-in-the middle (MitM) attacks.","PeriodicalId":410503,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Symposium ELMAR","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126450325","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Several hydrodynamic models have been introduced, in order to describe the motion of the free electron gas in metals. In this work, by employing the hard wall hydrodynamic model (HW-HDM) and the quantum hydrodynamic model (Q-HDM), the nonlocal response of an isolated metallic nanoparticle, excited by a dipole emitter, is investigated. The analysis is performed for the local density of states of an emitter coupled with a spherical nanoparticle, which may be treated analytically. Both radial and tangential emitters are studied, while varying the emitter–nanoparticle separation, and the nanoparticle’s size and material. It is shown that HW-HDM and Q-HDM may generate striking spectral features, which do not arise within the classical approach.","PeriodicalId":410503,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Symposium ELMAR","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114254630","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Vehicles equipped with different Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) are increasingly present on the roads, whereas the level of their autonomy increases over time. For autonomous vehicles to work properly, it is necessary to have reliable ADAS that process different input signals from distinct sensors. One of the most important ADAS algorithms is that intended for lane detection (LD) and lane departure warning (LDW). In this paper, a new algorithm for LD on the road and LDW, which processes only images obtained from the camera located at the front end of the vehicle, is proposed. The algorithm provides information on the number of detected lane lines in the image and their position on the image while marking the current driving lane and the first two adjacent lanes if they exist. If the vehicle is departing from the lane, a corresponding warning message is shown to the driver. The algorithm was tested on a set of 12 video sequences (17552 frames in total) recorded during day and night in different weather conditions. The results showed that the algorithm achieves high performance in most cases, while for some challenging cases there is room for further improvement.","PeriodicalId":410503,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Symposium ELMAR","volume":"62 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124659432","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It relies on the nonredundant sampling representations of the electromagnetic fields and on the optimal sampling interpolation expansions, and considers a flat AUT as enclosed in a dish having diameter equal to its maximum dimension. Since the number of needed NF samples is related to the area of surface enclosing the AUT, it results significantly reduced with respect to the use of the other AUT modelings available for quasi-planar AUTs and based on the oblate spheroid and the double bowl. Numerical results assessing the effectiveness of the proposed NF-FF transformation are shown.","PeriodicalId":410503,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Symposium ELMAR","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116969970","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The problem is equivalent to the inverted pendulum principle of balancing robots. Dynamic model based PD controller and empirical controller were designed. These controllers are used in closed loop system to provide the robot balance, even when robot is slightly pushed, which normally causes it to fall. The equations of robot motion were derived using Lagrangian and mapped to a transfer function in the complex s-domain. The controller parameters are initially tuned using PID Tuner in Simulink. Then, the zero-order-hold discretization method was applied to implement this control on the Arduino microcontroller. Furthermore, the controller parameters are additionally adjusted through experiments in order to exhibit better control performance. Moreover, the effect of an unexpected disturbance on the robot was taken into consideration. The effectiveness of the designed controllers was verified experimentally.","PeriodicalId":410503,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Symposium ELMAR","volume":"138 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117271193","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
