In this article, we aim to review the diversity of the harm that can result from psychological intervention when working with patients diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. People with this diagnosis are highly prone to suffer harm during psychological intervention due to the activation of their attachment system. Methods: after signing the informed consent form, 50 relatives of people with COVID-19 (84% women) aged between 20-63 years (M = 36.88;SD = 12.73) participated in the study. Sociodemographic aspects, stress (Perceived Stress Scale), emotional bonds (Adult Attachment Questionnaire) and personality (NEO Personality Inventory) were assessed. Results: relatives of COVID-19 affected individuals presented stress, insecure attachment characteristics and a moderately adjusted personality profile. Secure attachment characteristics were associated with less stress and a healthier personality profile. Persistent depressive disorder (PDD) is a common mood disorder in women. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, and compassion-focused therapy have been used separately. Objectives. To assess the efficacy of a multicomponent group intervention program. Method. After signing an informed consent, participants (n = 6) answered (before and after intervention and follow-up) questionnaires on anxiety, depression, life satisfaction, and satisfaction with the intervention. Results. Our pre-treatment results showed high levels of anxious and depressive symptoms and low life satisfaction, which improved after the intervention and remained stable at the six-month follow-up. Conclusions.
