Previous studies have focused on emotional intelligence and marital satisfaction among couples in different societies but few studies focused on Christian couples particularly in Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Nigeria.  Therefore, this study investigated emotional intelligence and marital satisfaction among couples in CAC Akure, Nigeria. The study is anchored on the Dynamic Goal Theory of marital satisfaction. Descriptive research was adopted for this study and simple random sampling was used to select 180 couples. Data were collected using Wong & Long Emotional Intelligence Scale (0.81} and Marital Satisfaction scale (0.72). The data were analyzed using frequency descriptive statistics and Pearson product moment correlation. The findings showed high level of emotional intelligence and marital satisfaction among couples. There was positive relationship between emotional intelligence and marital satisfaction {r=.565, n=150(:000)< .05}. It is recommended that the Church authority and counselors should collaborate to sustain training on emotional intelligence and marital satisfaction among couples.","PeriodicalId":409373,"journal":{"name":"Applied Journal of Economics, Management and Social Sciences","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121171500","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study used 25 reputable research articles which are more related to the title “organizational justice on organizational performance with mediating variables of organizational commitment and job satisfaction”. Positive perception of employees in relation to organizational justice is a significant antecedent to employees’ job satisfaction, which in turn mediated the relationship between justice perceptions and organizational performance. Intrinsic and extrinsic job satisfaction has a positive and significant effect on organizational commitment. But some findings show that procedural and interactional justice has no significant impact on employee performance and the relationship of organizational justice to work performance was mostly indirect, mediated by organizational commitment. Organizational justice and organizational commitment have generally confirmed a positive relationship, and organizational commitment mediates the relationship between organizational justice and organizational performance significantly.","PeriodicalId":409373,"journal":{"name":"Applied Journal of Economics, Management and Social Sciences","volume":"100 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124099326","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In view of this, this study was developed to examine the impact of globalisation on the Nigerian manufacturing sector. Method: The study adopted the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) and Error Correction Model (ECM) to estimate and analyse the long and short-run impacts of globalisation on manufacturing value added in Nigeria using data collected from KOF Swiss Economic Institute, and World Bank Development Indicators (WDI), covering the period from 1981 to 2020. Findings: The estimated model established that globalisation has a positive connection with manufacturing value added in Nigeria both in the short and long-run, though not statistically significant. Based on the t-statistics of the individual variables, the study came to the conclusion that although globalisation had impacted more positively on the Nigerian economy, there were still rooms for improvement, especially as regards infrastructural development, which shows a negative connection with manufacturing value added. Originality: The study adds to the existing literature on the globalization-growth nexus by looking at the manufacturing sector of the economy, an aspect which most researchers have been neglecting.","PeriodicalId":409373,"journal":{"name":"Applied Journal of Economics, Management and Social Sciences","volume":"59 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116774330","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The challenges and setbacks to achieving poverty alleviation in Nigeria are multifaceted, including political, economic, and in some cases communication-related. Communication plays a role in promoting knowledge, social inclusion, and national development programmes. Consequently, where there is a communication gap, it is likely to result in an interruption in the attainment of poverty alleviation objectives. Nigeria is a peculiar reference case with respect to poverty prevalence. The country accounts for one of the highest numbers of poor people worldwide. Nearly half of Nigeria’s 200 million population are living below the international poverty line of $1.9 per day. This study examined the role of communication in poverty alleviation in Nigeria. Development media theory underpinned the study. The study identified media ownership structure, political concern, media bias, or lack of interest as part of the communication constraints acting as limiting poverty alleviation efforts in Nigeria. It recommends leveraging existing and new communication strategies, techniques, and approaches, beyond the traditional media, toward achieving the goal of eradicating extreme poverty by the year 2030.   ","PeriodicalId":409373,"journal":{"name":"Applied Journal of Economics, Management and Social Sciences","volume":"101 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115768586","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methodology: The study employed dataset from the World Bank Development Indicators between 2004 and 2019 where Panel Fixed effect were used to estimate the relationship between energy access and financial inclusion. Specifically, the study estimated access to electricity as a function ATM per 100,000 adults, Bank accounts per 1,000 adults, and domestic credit to the private sector. Findings: The study did not found a strong evidence to conclude that financial inclusion improves access to energy in West Africa. In particular, of all the variables used to measure financial inclusion only ATM per 100,000 adults proved to have a positive relationship with access to energy while the other variables had no impact on access to energy.","PeriodicalId":409373,"journal":{"name":"Applied Journal of Economics, Management and Social Sciences","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129684041","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To this end, the development miracle of Taiwan is brought into perspective, chiefly to explore her success story as one of the newly industrialized countries, and to identify the gaps Nigeria was not able to fill from the experience of Taipei. Given the above, this research adopted secondary data analysis and desktop research designs. The data and literature collected were qualitatively analyzed based on the dominant themes. The results showed that a combination of factors were responsible for the failure of Nigeria’s efforts to industrialize and these are: Lack of political will, rent-seeking behaviour of the leaders or political elites; infrastructural deficits, inadequate education and skills development; weak state institutions, ineffective government industrialization policies, bad governance, inappropriate land policy, low level of technology, the relegation of the agricultural sector and insufficient flow of FDIs, etc. As a way forward, it was recommended that Nigeria should look at the experience of Taiwan and borrow a cue from her, where necessary.","PeriodicalId":409373,"journal":{"name":"Applied Journal of Economics, Management and Social Sciences","volume":"117 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122451381","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Three (3) antecedents of organizational politics (favoritism, pay and promotion, and scarcity of resources) were examined to find out their effect on employee turnover intention. The data for this study was obtained using a questionnaire where a sample of 146 employees was chosen from a population of 231 using Taro Yemani's formula. In evaluating the three-study hypothesis, analysis was done using descriptive statistics, cross-tabulation, and multiple regression analysis. In some of the study organizations, organizational politics was found to have a considerable impact on employee turnover intention with an ANOVA F-value of 15.10 which is greater than the tabulated value of 2.89 (i.e. 15.10 > 2.89).  This implies that organizational politics has a significant and favorable association with income and career advancement. If the organization raises salary and promotion based on politics, it will promote organizational politics which will increase employee turnover. It was also revealed that resource scarcity and organizational politics have a positive correlation, and male employees are likely to leave an organization when there is an existence of politics.  Secondly, the more educated and skilled an employee is, the more likely they will consider leaving organization not built on meritocracy.","PeriodicalId":409373,"journal":{"name":"Applied Journal of Economics, Management and Social Sciences","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132883725","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study employed the ARDL bounds testing approach. The empirical results revealed that public investment has a crowding-in effect on private investment in the long run which means, public investment stimulates private investment in the long run. However, the study revealed that public investment has a crowding out effect on private investment. In the other word, public investment has no direct impact on economic growth in the long run. However, private investment has a significant positive impact on economic growth in the long run while it is negatively related to economic growth in the short run. This suggests that private investment positively contributes to economic growth more than public investment. In addition, economic growth is positively associated with private investment although it is statistically insignificant in the long run. This implies that it is prudent for policy makers not to cut back on the efficient component of public investment and increase infrastructural public investment to a level that promotes private investment in the long run thereby indirectly fostering economic growth.","PeriodicalId":409373,"journal":{"name":"Applied Journal of Economics, Management and Social Sciences","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132775130","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Fully Modified Ordinary Least Square (FOLS) technique was adopted for analysis.  The empirical results showed a negative relationship between power outages and factor productivity.  The result also reveals that electricity pricing has a significant negative impact on the factor productivity while both electricity generation and population have a significant positive impact on Nigeria’s total factor productivity.  The implication is that the substitution effect between labour and capital is positive, meaning that Nigeria exhibits a labour-intensive production function. In conclusion, the study is of the opinion that power outage and electricity pricing negatively impact factors productivity while electricity generation and population have a positive relationship with factors productivity in Nigeria.","PeriodicalId":409373,"journal":{"name":"Applied Journal of Economics, Management and Social Sciences","volume":"1954 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129600791","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To assess the determinants of the problem, a sample of four companies were included in the study from four different Regional States (Tigray, Amhara, Oromia, and SNNPR). The principal sources of the data were employees, key informants, and employers in the textile manufacturing enterprise. A structured questionnaire with CSpro software was used to gather the information. A Probit Econometric Regression analysis was applied to analyze the data and draw a conclusion. The findings of the study revealed that workers’ dissatisfaction with their job, work environment, and salary dissatisfaction have a significant and positive relationship to their intention to leave the companies. However, as expected, supervisors’ good relationship with the workers has a significant effect to reduce the probability of the worker’s intention to leave the company. Compared to males, female workers are more likely to intend to leave. This could be associated with inconvenient work schedule and works stress. The result of the analysis also shows that the larger the family sizes, the less likely are the workers intend to leave their company which could be associated to fear of risk against the family livelihood.","PeriodicalId":409373,"journal":{"name":"Applied Journal of Economics, Management and Social Sciences","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124931661","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
