However, there are several significant differences between these two sources of revelation. The most notable difference lies in terms of thubūt (the authenticity of the transmission of the revelation to its source). Unlike the Noble Qur'an, which has reached the Muslim community through mutawātir (mass-transmitted) chains of narration, the majority of ḥadīth have been transmitted to Muslims through āḥād (singularly transmitted) chains, which are open to criticism regarding their authenticity (ṣādiq) or falsehood (kāzib) in their transmission to the original source, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Scholars from various fields, such as muḥaddithūn (ḥadīth scholars), fuqahā’ (jurists), and uṣūliyyūn (theologians), have laid down various criteria for evaluating the acceptance of a ḥadīth (maqbūl). If a ḥadīth fails to meet any of the established criteria, it is deemed rejected (mardūd). Given the reality that a ḥadīth could be true or false in its attribution to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), many contemporary ḥadīth researchers in Malaysia have launched the campaign 'Check the Ḥadīth Before Spreading.' On the surface, this campaign is commendable and in line with the tradition of ḥadīth scholars who have always emphasized the importance of verifying the status of ḥadīth before accepting or disseminating them. However, there are some who seemingly do not support this campaign and even argue that it is a 'Wahabi' propaganda in Malaysia, attempting to surpass the wisdom of past ḥadīth scholars who never engaged in such a campaign. This reaction has sparked controversy within the discourse of contemporary ḥadīth studies in Malaysia. This paper aims to unravel these issues and shed light on the status of this campaign according to the principles and methodologies of knowledge within the tradition of Islamic ḥadīth studies.","PeriodicalId":40915,"journal":{"name":"Al-Bayan-Journal of Quran and Hadith Studies","volume":"62 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135928797","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Normally, body cells will go through the cell replacement process according to its rules to improve, restore and replace new cells if there is an injury or wound. This cancer disease has rarely occurred in the community since 4500 BC, therefore this study will increase knowledge and input about the signs of cancer and general ideas related to treatment methods and prevention of cancer infection. There are 100 types of cancer that have been stated by earlier Islamic scientists in the books of Tibb and also in the hadith by using various words that indicate 'cancer' such as tumor, boil and so on. Although there are many past studies that debate about cancer in various aspects, this study analyzes cancer from the point of view of the hadith recommended by the Prophet SAW. By applying the method of content analysis contained inductively and deductively that focusing on the book of hadith al-Sahihain which is the book of Sahih al-Bukhari and the book of Sahih Muslim and theirs syarah, then this study has achieved three main objectives namely; i) identify the names and records of cancer recorded in the hadith, ii) study the signs of cancer as recorded in the text of the hadith, iii) analyze the treatment methods recommended by the Prophet SAW. The results of this study will be more suggestive to the current community that started to practice and take the treatment recommended by the Prophet SAW to cure a disease especially cancer.","PeriodicalId":40915,"journal":{"name":"Al-Bayan-Journal of Quran and Hadith Studies","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135928805","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These traditional wisdom and practices are manifested through various old adages and taboos believed to have an impact on life. Therefore, an analysis of the book 'Ta’lim wal Muta’llim' specifically focuses on the chapter of adages and taboos that hinder one's livelihood, which can be associated with the discussion of hadith analogy and the analysis of the elderly population in Kuala Lipis, Pahang. The use of this book is seen as closely related to the Malay community. From the research, it was found that 34 adages and taboos that invite poverty listed through the work of al-Zarnuji are closely related to elements within the Malay community in Kuala Lipis, Pahang. The results show that out of these 34 adages, 31 are commonly heard among the people of Kuala Lipis, and they can be linked to 21 Hadiths. The remaining ones are not related to Hadith sources. Furthermore, these adages and taboos are seen as beneficial guidance and advice for the community in navigating the course of life, and some are still practiced to this day.","PeriodicalId":40915,"journal":{"name":"Al-Bayan-Journal of Quran and Hadith Studies","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135928648","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Islam views education as the most effective way to shape a prosperous society, as stated in the Quran. One important aspect is early childhood education. Efforts to elevate early childhood education can be seen through the initiatives taken by government agencies, such as the establishment of nurseries, kindergartens, daycare centers, and private agencies offering similar services. Additionally, private entities have also published modules for early childhood education that are used in preschool and kindergarten curricula. This article aims to examine the implementation of Islamic education among children in Malaysia through the module book of the hadiths of Prophet Muhammad. The methodology used is descriptive, utilizing qualitative methods to analyze documents. The researcher reviewed several module books that were successfully obtained and published in the market, subsequently analyzing and evaluating their content based on aspects of hadith narration, the number of hadiths, themes of the hadiths, appropriate writing techniques and styles for children's age groups, and the teachings derived from the hadiths. The study found that efforts have been made by private agencies and individuals to collect and compile the hadiths of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) for the purpose of early childhood education. The study also found that the printed modules of hadiths available in the market still have room for improvement based on the analysis and comments made by the researcher in the study findings. The main questions of this research are: Is it necessary to pronounce the word “said” or “saying” while narrating the chain of Hadith? And if this word omitted – purposively or not purposively –, does it cause a big problem according to the rules of The science of Hadith? And are there special conditions for oral delivery that differ from writing? Thus, this study aims to answer these questions by referring to the scholars’ views and their reasons while selecting Ibn Shaqrun – one of the great scholars of Hadith – as a model who is among the first scholars that discussed this issue. Ibn shaqrun’s views and perspectives in this regard are analyzed and evaluated by using an analytical critical method. It determined the direction of the discourse of hadith for centuries and inaugurated a cultural revolution in the Mamluk era. This article aims at explaining why and how the phenomenon occurred. Furthermore, associating the publication of the Muqaddima with the state of hadith scholarship in the 7/13 century exposes the primary factors and key people behind the spread of Muqaddima and the changes that followed. The study is qualitative in nature and used both inductive and deductive methods to analyse data acquired from various biographical dictionaries and isnād collections. It discovers that the publication of the Muqaddima has rejuvenated the study of hadith in the Mamluk era after centuries of irreversible decline through the formation of a scholarly network across the Islamic countries which sought to simplify the content of the Muqaddima for hadith students. Their works have indirectly opened the opportunity for more people to discuss hadith criticism, which was originally limited to elite scholars. Damascus and Egypt played a key role in this movement due to their strategic position as the primary center of hadith studies after the destruction of Khurasan and Baghdad by the Mongols. This finding will, to some extent, complete our understanding of the history of pre-modern hadith scholarship that is less highlighted today.","PeriodicalId":40915,"journal":{"name":"Al-Bayan-Journal of Quran and Hadith Studies","volume":"11 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2023-07-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84773112","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This criticism started from the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) in 2018, organized by the United Nations Human Rights (UNHR), which called on Malaysia to stop the practice of female circumcision. Among the accusations made were that the practice of female circumcision was merely a tradition and not a religious requirement. In addition, they denied the authority of the hadith used as evidence for the legitimization of female circumcision, claiming that they were weak and lacked authority. Therefore, this study aims to reassess and re-evaluate the validity and authority of the hadith used as evidence for the legitimization of female circumcision. This study uses a qualitative method, employing historical-textual analysis, to analyze the opinions of hadith scholars regarding the sanad (Transmission) and matan (Text) of the hadith. The results of this study found that the hadith regarding female circumcision has various pathways that can support each other and can be upgraded to hasan li ghayrihi. In conclusion, this study found that the hadith used as evidence for the legitimization of female circumcision is authoritative, thereby affirming that this practice is part of Islamic law.","PeriodicalId":40915,"journal":{"name":"Al-Bayan-Journal of Quran and Hadith Studies","volume":"24 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2023-07-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74999853","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
