Skin pigmentation is influenced by environmental, physiological, and biological factors. The characteristic cells that take part in the process of melanogenesis are melanocytes. Their structure plays a significant role in the production of melanin and the formation of skin pigment. The extensive characteristics of the skin in terms of its appearance, histopathological, morphological, and functional structure, allow for the comparison of skins with different phototypes in terms of their properties and parameters. The aim of the study was to present the clinical picture of pigmented spots, disorders of skin appendages, and dermatological diseases characteristic for the skin phototype IV-VI. Dermatoses occurring in dark-skinned people include acne, hirsutism, keloids, scars, pigment spots. In relation to these diseases, cosmetological treatment therapies were presented which allow eduction and elimination of skin problems.","PeriodicalId":408488,"journal":{"name":"Aesthetic Cosmetology and Medicine","volume":"182 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124599173","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They mainly concern the genitourinary, central nervous, musculoskeletal, and cardiovascular systems. Changes related to the aging process of the skin also play an important role. The aim of the study was to evaluate the influence of age, selected anthropometric data (such as body weight, body height, body mass index (BMI) and external dimensions of the pelvis), and the parameters included in the questionnaires on the bioelectric activity of the pelvic floor muscles (PFM). Postmenopausal women achieved higher levels of resting and functional surface activity of pelvic floor muscle electromyography (sEMG PFM), indicating that PFM function improves over the years following menopause. Women who report significant symptoms of urinary incontinence had a lower PFM resting tone. This may prove significant functions of PFM, mainly during resting activity. However, this results requires further verification based on a larger study group and usage of specialized methods of assessing the degree and type of urinary incontinence.","PeriodicalId":408488,"journal":{"name":"Aesthetic Cosmetology and Medicine","volume":"100 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131918493","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The treatment is primarily focused on prevention from the abnormal healing process of the skin, so and combination therapies are often used for this purpose. The aim of the article was to present the classification of scars and the concept of laser treatment, based on the recommendations of the International Consensus of 2020 presented by the American Society of Lasers in Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS) and the results of scientific research. Although laser therapy is one of the most effective methods, it is not possible to unequivocally state that it is the most effective in the treatment of scars. The final effect depends on many factors, including the type and age of the scar.","PeriodicalId":408488,"journal":{"name":"Aesthetic Cosmetology and Medicine","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129715232","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are three options for chemical coloring, depending on the duration of the target color. Among them, there are short-term, semi-permanent, and long-term dyeing. Using synthetic ingredients, it is possible to obtain a full range of colors. Reports of undesirable side effects of chemical dyes on both the scalp and hair structure support a return to natural hair coloration and a development in this direction. The aim of the work was to draw attention to apply botanical raw materials in hair dyeing. The work presents the characteristics of the following plant materials used in hair dyeing: defenseless lawsonia, oxalic hibiscus, rhubarb, elderberry and chamomile.","PeriodicalId":408488,"journal":{"name":"Aesthetic Cosmetology and Medicine","volume":"241 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129190301","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Under homeostasis, they play an important role as a cellular signaling device. During oxidative stress, when they are produced in excess, they can cause damages to proteins, lipids, carbohydrates or nucleic acids. Exposure of cells and extracellular structures to free radicals activate natural mechanisms to eliminate free radicals and their derivatives. The aim of the article was to present what antioxidants are, and how they protect cells against the free radicals. The protective system against the free radicals consists of antioxidant enzymes: superoxide dismutase, catalase, glutathione peroxidases, and reductase. Low-molecular antioxidants such as vitamin C, E, carotenoids, coenzyme Q10, flavonoids, glutathione and melatonin also play an important role.","PeriodicalId":408488,"journal":{"name":"Aesthetic Cosmetology and Medicine","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125923622","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
