The sentimental relationship of its protagonists arises in a non-place. It is also constructed through the technological medium and generates in the subjects a confusion between reality and fiction. These traits, which the critics have attributed to the narrative of simulation, constitute the main vectors of this analysis. Many of Lage ́s works explore the different possibilities of Cuba’s future, positing universes full of strange and novel elements that may -or may notcorrespond to the future of the country, although their main intention is not to build a model society: these universes are immersed in chaos, in instability. Globalization enters his novels as an irremediable force, being the cause of the arrival of all these elements on the island. Las sociedades se están transformando debido a la asimilación de las nuevas dinámicas que mueven la economía mundial. Los modelos que se crearon durante la modernidad se han ido diluyendo en las últimas décadas. Conceptos como identidad, nación y territorio han sido resignificados tras la llegada de los procesos globalizantes. América Latina ha visto cómo estos modelos dejan de tener peso en sus diversas realidades. La literatura, como otras artes, refleja estos cambios y estas nuevas concepciones de entender el individuo y la comunidad que habita. La narrativa cubana de las dos últimas décadas es un ejemplo de este reflejo: los autores han ido abandonando los preceptos que se difundieron desde la década de los sesenta para virar hacia una literatura que dialoga más allá de la isla, superando las líneas fronterizas. En la novela que atañe a este trabajo, Jorge Enrique Lage presenta un universo literario donde todo discurso hegemónico es puesto en evidencia y en cuestionamiento con la feroz entrada de la globalización a través de la construcción de una autopista. La principal consecuencia de los procesos globalizadores es la creación de “una nueva cosmovisión” (Mora 320) de las sociedades actuales. La reducción de los costos y del tiempo en la construcción de infraestructuras, así como las facilidades de intercambio de información que proporcionan las redes, contribuyen a la creación de unos territorios cada vez más conectados y, como resultado, más descentralizados. La descentralización del control otorga a sociedades y naciones una nueva “complejidad y heterogeneidad de su núcleo estructural” (321). Las nociones de territorialidad, por tanto, se han transformado en las últimas décadas. La fenomenología y las ciencias cognitivas hablan entonces de una experiencia transparente, por oposición a la experiencia opaca que implica la consciencia del medio. En este artículo estudiamos las implicaciones de dichos procesos en relación con la experiencia de lectura de la obra del escritor franco-ruso Antoine Volodine, que el propio autor denomina \"post-exotismo\".
