An investigation of optical properties of CuInSe2 thin films is essential to evaluate its perfectibility as high efficiency solar cells. The films were fabricated by thermal co-evaporation technique. For this experiment, a shimadzu spectrophotometer of model number 1201 is used. The optical properties of these films are determined for the wavelength range 350 nm–1100 nm. From the experiment it is evident that the reflectance and transmittance of the films are negligible in comparison to the absorption of these films. The high absorption coefficient of the order of 104/cm of the film material also supports this. The band gap of the CuInSe2 films was evaluated to be 1.1 eV. From XRD and EDAX analysis it is evident that CuInSe2 films are polycrystalline in nature having ideal stoichiometric composition.","PeriodicalId":407983,"journal":{"name":"Central European Journal of Engineering","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117049809","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The repairing and strengthening methods which are used in this study include treatment of the cracks, thickening the web of box girder along the bridge length and adding internal pre-stressing tendons in the thickening web, and construct reinforced concrete cross beams (diaphragms) between two box girders. The results of theoretical analysis of static and dynamic structural responses after strengthening show that the tensile stresses are decreased and become less than the allowable limit values in the codes. The values of vertical deflection are decreased after strengthening. The values of natural frequencies after strengthening are increased, indicating that the strengthening method is effective to reduce the vibration of the bridge structure. Therefore, the strengthening methods are effective to improve the bearing capacity and elastic working state of the bridge structure and to increase the service life of the bridge structure.","PeriodicalId":407983,"journal":{"name":"Central European Journal of Engineering","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134531531","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, the variational iteration method (VIM) is used to study the time-dependent singular Emden-Fowler equations. This method overcomes the difficulties of singularity behavior. The VIM reveals quite a number of features over numerical methods that make it helpful for singular and nonsingular equations. The work is supported by analyzing few examples where the convergence of the results is observed.","PeriodicalId":407983,"journal":{"name":"Central European Journal of Engineering","volume":"169 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126129367","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Convergence analysis is given and then numerical experiments are carried out to make obvious the convergence, accuracy and efficient applicability of the method.","PeriodicalId":407983,"journal":{"name":"Central European Journal of Engineering","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114159068","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The primary objective of this research reported in this paper is to evaluate the bond strength of epoxy coated bar splices confined with lateral reinforcement. Six full scale beams specimens, designed to fail in bond- splitting mode, were tested in positive bending. Each beam was reinforced with bars spliced in the constant moment region at mid span. The main variables were the amount of transverse reinforcement in the splice region and the coating to the bar. Test results indicate that transverse reinforcement improves the bond strength of coated bars and the ductility of the beams. The bond strength of coated bars is 93%, 72% and 59% of uncoated bars for confinement indices of 1.8, 1.4 and 1.26 respectively. Moreover, a bond reduction factor of 1.35 is suggested for use in code in place of 1.5,when the confinement index is greater than 1.4.","PeriodicalId":407983,"journal":{"name":"Central European Journal of Engineering","volume":"132 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124266357","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Two kinds of impellers have been used: simple and double helical ribbons. This work is achieved with the help of CFD package (CFX-12.0), which is based on the finite volume method to solve the continuity and momentum equations. The effect of impeller rotational speed, fluid rheology, impeller size, impeller clearance from the tank bottom on the flow fields and power consumption have been investigated. Finally, a comparison between the two impellers is made. It was found that the best performance is obtained with double helical ribbon impeller placed at the middle of the tank, with moderate blade size and operating at Reg > 20. Our results have been compared with those of other literatures and a satisfactory agreement is observed.","PeriodicalId":407983,"journal":{"name":"Central European Journal of Engineering","volume":"69 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123625988","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Adversaries with the knowledge of sensor deployment and network protocols can infer the location of a sensed event by monitoring the communication from the sensors even when the messages are encrypted. Encryption provides confidentiality; however, the context of the event can used to breach the privacy of sensed objects. An adversary can track the trajectory of a moving object or determine the location of the occurrence of a critical event to breach its privacy. In this paper, we propose ring signature to obfuscate the spatial information. Firstly, the extended region of location of an event of interest as estimated from a sensor communication is presented. Then, the increase in this region of spatial uncertainty due to the effect of ring signature is determined. We observe that ring signature can effectively enhance the region of location uncertainty of a sensed event. As the event of interest can be situated anywhere in the enhanced region of uncertainty, its privacy against local or global adversary is ensured. Both analytical and simulation results show that induced delay and throughput are insignificant with negligible impact on the performance of a WSN.","PeriodicalId":407983,"journal":{"name":"Central European Journal of Engineering","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130458113","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Together with an RF mixer, the decision Section realizes the circuit implementation of the back-end of a transmitted reference ultra wideband receiver, which is yet to be reported in literature. The proposed circuit is built on a differential amplifier core and avoids the use of integrator and sampling blocks, which reduces the device burden necessary for the architecture. Moreover, the detection window threshold of the design can be regulated by three independent factors defined by the circuit elements. The circuit is tested at an input data rate of 0.1∼2.0 Gbps and the core decision section consumes 9.14 mW from a 1.2-V bias supply (with a maximum capacity/Pdc ratio of 218.8 GHz/W). When compared against other reported decision blocks, the proposed detection circuit shows improved performance in terms of capacity and power requirement.","PeriodicalId":407983,"journal":{"name":"Central European Journal of Engineering","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124015627","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
