It is vital for the company to maximize the number of subscribers reached by advertising while not exceeding its advertising budget. To determine which publishers to select can be considered as an advertisement optimization problem and can be solved by using binary metaheuristics. Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) is one of the most popular metaheuristics in the field of swarm intelligence and has been widely used in numerical optimization and engineering applications. To solve binary advertisement problem, three binary variants of ABC algorithm are proposed in this paper. The first binary variant is based on Sigmoid transfer function and indicated as sigABC, while the second and the third binary variants are based on exclusive OR (xor) and crossover genetic operators, respectively, and are indicated as xorABC and crossoverABC. The proposed binary ABC variants are evaluated using 20 instance-dataset. The comparative experimental results show the superior performance of the crossoverABC and sigABC methods compared to xorABC technique.","PeriodicalId":407725,"journal":{"name":"2019 6th International Conference on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ICEEE)","volume":"48 4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129277770","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It will start working out the math for all those branches before the program even has to decide between them. Normally, it works together with caching which is to speed up the memory access by filled with the data that will need some and often the output of the speculative execution is stored here. The speculative execution and caching in the operating system improve the overall system and operating system performance through the prediction of data or resources to be used and cache memory for quick access to data or resources. The problem arises where this function could allow potential attackers to get access to data they should not have access to by exploiting Spectre attack which also known as side-channel attack and Meltdown. Spectre attack and Meltdown open up the possibilities for dangerous attacks which involved the breach of security and confidentiality of the user. Various techniques and patches have been introduced to mitigating the Spectre attack and Meltdown. In this project, we study the technique used to mitigate the Spectre attack variant 2 introduced by Google called Retpoline technique in the networking virtualised environment.","PeriodicalId":407725,"journal":{"name":"2019 6th International Conference on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ICEEE)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122356510","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Various approaches have been proposed that optimize algorithms for specifically determined noisy environments with the ability to restore speech for cochlear implant users. This paper presents an approach to classifying different noise environments in our daily lives such as factory floor, jet cockpit, babble noise and etc. The noise classification system described here can be used to recognize different background noises and then optimize the coding strategies for hearing aids and cochlear implant devices. Seven types of noise environments are selected as the training data, and noise segments randomly cut from different noise recordings will be used as the test data. Classifiers based on Gaussian Mixture Models and Bayesian classifiers are developed and evaluated as well as KNN clustering. Features are extracted using MFCC feature extraction. In this paper, we aim to describe the automated solution for noise reduction in known types of noisy environments, and implement models in cochlear implant device. It is shown that training the classifier with 80% of the data resulted in 100% classification performance of all classes except the babble noise. By employing feature sub selection, the performance of the classifier was examined for every class using each single feature, and the role of each of the features in classifying each class was quantified. It was also found that by using only two of the features 100% performance could be enhanced for all classes except two of them.","PeriodicalId":407725,"journal":{"name":"2019 6th International Conference on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ICEEE)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128541738","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study is reduced to an elementary cell which is considered as a TEM rectangular waveguide. The computation of the local electromagnetic properties is realized in the cell with adequate boundary conditions using the finite element method. The effective parameters are expressed as function of macroscopic properties which are deduced from local properties. The obtained numerical results, produced by personal software, are confronted to Maxwell-Garnett mixing formula predictions and the multi-scale homogenization method.","PeriodicalId":407725,"journal":{"name":"2019 6th International Conference on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ICEEE)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117017996","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is referred to as joint Hadamard transform and OSTBC schemes with multiple transmit antennas. However, HDT is used to change the location of constellation points by converting the transmit symbols of OSTBC system, and hence extending the Euclidean distance between transmit symbols for a precise detection. Simulation results demonstrated that increasing the number of transmit antennas in OSTBC systems employing 8-PSK improves the Bit Error Rate (BER) performance as in the case of OSTBC 2×2 scheme where an SNR of about 13.5 dB is required to achieve a BER of 10^-6, while only about 7 dB in OSTBC 8×8 scheme is required to obtain the same error probability. It is also demonstrated that imposing the Hadamard criteria on the OSTBC 2×2, 4×4, and 8×8 schemes has showed a performance improvement of about 3 dB, 6 dB and 9 dB, respectively, as compared to the conventional OSTBC systems.","PeriodicalId":407725,"journal":{"name":"2019 6th International Conference on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ICEEE)","volume":"122 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123080357","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The idea is based on a number of LEDs installed on a platform that spins rapidly to create an illusion of a continuous image. In this work, a cylindrical POV is presented to show messages in the space (3D) rather than a plane (2D). One of the challenging issues is to synchronize the frequency of control signals from a microcontroller with the motor speed to result in a non-flashing display and have a resolution that is good enough to let viewers distinguish different characters. A special software application utilizing Visual Basic is developed to interface hardware components together in a user-friendly environment.","PeriodicalId":407725,"journal":{"name":"2019 6th International Conference on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ICEEE)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125993781","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents a case study about the recent researches and projections on electric vehicles and also potential impacts of EV charging on the electricity distribution network. In this regard, recent developments about EV and Turkey oriented findings have been indicated. The current EV market situation, advances about range, battery and charging issues, the current situation in Turkey were researched. Results from the presented studies indicate that EV sales penetration rates calculations were made under 2 different charge scenario distributions. The analysis results of them that especially in 17:00-23:00 hours when electricity usage reached peak level, EV charging creates a serious fluctuation and load profile in terms of electricity distribution network. In addition to these, the relationship between the energy quality and the EV charging stations were analyzed and their effects on the electricity network were investigated. One of the result was obtained from these studies that load value of 400 kVA transformer reached from 63% to 97% when three charging stations were connected all together. In this paper, it was aimed to provide possible solutions to all above mentioned issues and also some suggestions.","PeriodicalId":407725,"journal":{"name":"2019 6th International Conference on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ICEEE)","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123933649","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Given an image, a robot can map or recognize his environment. The ability to perform well is related to the quality of the information acquired and processed by the system. As the variation of the real world affects significantly the results, it can lead, in some cases, to a poor performance. The improvement is related to changes due to illumination, weather or season at outdoor with abundant features and textures for place recognition as in indoor environment, the robot will have less features or textures to process. In this paper, we present an approach of place recognition inspired by the FuzzyART. The input will be a Normalized Scanline Profile (NSP) and a pre-treatment will be performed by two fuzzy ART subsystems. The matching being the threshold for decision, we will fuse the matching output of the subsystems using a Sugeno-Takagi Fuzzy Inference System. The developed approach was tested on two different dataset to evaluate its ability to perform on outdoor and indoor environments and to limit the use of data storage. The results indicate that correct setting leads to optimal results.","PeriodicalId":407725,"journal":{"name":"2019 6th International Conference on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ICEEE)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132439538","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
