Rugby was one of the sports which was played as a variation of football. Codification of rugby rules took place only in the middle 1800 century and hence, participants of rugby games were a mixture of players from other sports such as tennis and cricket. Also, there was no formal rugby association or players with Singapore representation. The players that played for Singapore were members of the SCC and employees of the BEIC. Back then, they competed in tournaments against the Malayan states and other teams.","PeriodicalId":407056,"journal":{"name":"Fizicko vaspitanje i sport kroz vekove","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133346854","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The method used is a literature review study. Impaired motor development can cause learning difficulties. This will have an impact on students such as low scores, low achievement, and difficulties in learning. In addition to matters related to academics, students usually feel embarrassed or make other friends feel annoyed and uncomfortable. Seeing the impact caused by motor problems can interfere with the learning process of children, it requires intervention from the school, especially by teachers who interact more intensively with children. Motor problems experienced by elementary school students certainly require intervention, as an initial screening to find out problems that may be experienced by students, it is necessary to do a universal intervention. This universal intervention is an intervention given to students whose problems at first are not known. Four aspects can benefit from optimizing the development of children's motor skills. The four aspects are the child's physiological, emotional, cognitive, and social. Other benefits are also grouped based on the optimization of fine and gross motor skills. Recommendations for future research to examine more deeply the motor problems of elementary school-aged students, so that the right method can be found to overcome them.","PeriodicalId":407056,"journal":{"name":"Fizicko vaspitanje i sport kroz vekove","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124110709","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To fight the COVID-19 pandemic, numerous countries around the world have imposed different social restrictions in the hopes of slowing the virus's spread. For more than two years, humanity has been exposed to stress, which has resulted in a significant change in human lives and a negative impact on people's health due to the need for a completely different adjustment to everyday life. Every new, unfamiliar scenario triggers tension, which is a natural response to a threat. All of this resulted in people being confined to their houses, prevented them from seeing loved ones or taking care of daily tasks, decreased their mobility, forced them to work from home, and completely altered their daily routines. The SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus pandemic has created a global social threat, both economic and medical, with significant lifestyle changes. Part of the strategy to limit the spread of the virus was social isolation, which is incompatible with the human need for physical activity. The COVID-19 pandemic has stopped sport and its development in a significantly different way than any known pandemic so far. People whose main occupation is sports were especially affected. The fight against the spread of COVID19 has resulted in the closure of sports clubs, facilities, gyms, stadiums, swimming pools, dance and fitness studios, physical therapy centers, parks and playgrounds. A significant number of studies were conducted during the pandemic in order to determine the impact of the pandemic on various aspects of social life, precisely because of the situation that was imposed on the entire society and because of the change in the format of everyday life that deviated from the usual. Physical activity is one of them. This work aims to review those works by systematizing the goals, contents and results of those researches, in order to determine how much they were represented and what conclusions were reached based on them.","PeriodicalId":407056,"journal":{"name":"Fizicko vaspitanje i sport kroz vekove","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116336396","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The overall sample included in this study consisted of 16 male participants of the World Swimming Championships in South Korea, who were divided into two groups. The first group consisted of finalists (22.88 ± 3.83 years; n = 8), and the second group of semifinalists (24.63 ± 4.93 years; n = 8). The results are taken from the official results from the omega timing website. A T-test was used to determine the differences between groups. Finalist were faster than semifinalists for first lap (23.82 ± .45 vs. 24.26 ± .30 s, p= .035), second lap (27.34 ± .31 vs. 27.78 ± .34 s, p= .018) as well as final time (51.16 ± .74 vs. 52.04 ± .26 s, p= .007) but not in drop off (3.53 ± .22 vs. 3.51 ± .59 s, p= .946). Finalists of the 100-m butterfly event at international competitions swam a faster first and second lap compared to their competitors in the semifinal group. Both groups are elite swimmers and showed abilities to maintain swimming velocity in first and second laps, therefore minimizing the drop-off from the start to the end of the race. The pacing strategies of elite swimmers remain relatively stable. The obtained results can be a good starting point in the learning process and education of teachers who coach young swimmers.","PeriodicalId":407056,"journal":{"name":"Fizicko vaspitanje i sport kroz vekove","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122303074","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
