The pursuing platform is equipped with a bearings-only sensor and decides sequentially where to move next, using a multiple-step ahead game theoretic approach. We quantify the duration of the evading platform survival for different levels of its intelligence: from the level fully matched to that of the evader to the total lack of intelligence. Numerical results confirm the necessity of the game theoretic intelligence.","PeriodicalId":406112,"journal":{"name":"2023 15th International Conference on Computer and Automation Engineering (ICCAE)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115325447","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The conventional way of detecting these diseases was through manual human eye monitoring and laboratory testing, which are crucial and time-consuming in controlling the development of these diseases. When it is present, the durian tree will not produce crops. Hence, this study has shown that a portable device embedded with the Duri Premium application was able to identify the durian leaf disease and provide treatment using Convolutional Neural Network MobileNet, a pre-trained model which suffices visual processing and would significantly help reduce the economic losses associated with the diseases such as algal spot, leaf blight, leaf spot, healthy leaf, and unknown. A total of seventy-five (75) samples were analyzed and used a confusion matrix to calculate the system's accuracy, which is 93.333%. As a result, the technique efficiently identifies the diseases mentioned above on durian leaves.","PeriodicalId":406112,"journal":{"name":"2023 15th International Conference on Computer and Automation Engineering (ICCAE)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123459653","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Coding data has a number of benefits, including speeding up the administration process of insurance companies and hospitals, improving global data sharing, and facilitating statistical analysis and forecasting. Current healthcare practice involves an individual as a clinical coder interpreting information about an aspect of patient care and assigning standardised codes. Thus, the current manual coding process is labor-intensive, time-consuming, and error-prone. Computer-assisted coding has emerged in the healthcare industry in recent years. AI-based systems together with expert-led services can help reduce labor costs, facilitate the administration process, and provide more informed and efficient healthcare. Consequently, researchers are increasingly interested in the use of deep neural networks to automate the process of clinical coding. The objective of this brief literature review is to summarize and describe the characteristics of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD), list the commonly used ICD-coded datasets, discuss the state-of-the-art deep learning models for ICD coding and the effect of injecting ICD ontology into these models, and present the interpretability mechanism that have been developed and implemented for clinical coding.","PeriodicalId":406112,"journal":{"name":"2023 15th International Conference on Computer and Automation Engineering (ICCAE)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127056159","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Unlike rigid objects, flexible objects’ state is uncertain, and their deformation is crucial for performing correctly a task. When a human being manipulates a cable, he can have quickly an idea of its geometry and stiffness just by looking at it and shaping it by hands. In this work, we propose a method that mimics this process and makes a robot learn the geometry and stiffness of a cable. The goal is to have a simulator in which the robot can generate the cable and tune its stiffness and damping properties by comparing the simulated deformed shape with that of a cable deformed in a real scenario. At first, the geometry of the cable is obtained by a Lidar, and a FEM model is generated and imported into a simulator. The virtual cable is shaped in a plane by a robot arm, and the resulting shape is compared with that obtained by conducting the same test with a real robot. An optimization based on Bayesian inference and Gaussian process is then used to tune the stiffness and damping properties of the simulated cable. The proposed method shows the ability to generate the cable from scratch and tune its parameters to obtain the desired shape in the plane.","PeriodicalId":406112,"journal":{"name":"2023 15th International Conference on Computer and Automation Engineering (ICCAE)","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127120657","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Las Piñas Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (LPDRRMO) operation relies on real-time situation updates during calamities. Barangay responders provide updates on the flood situation in the city and are at risk of hazards since manual measurements are being used. According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Plan, technological advancement in disaster mitigation should be developed and incorporated during disaster operations. This work applied the internet-of-things (IoT) to create timely updates for weather parameters across the city. Float switches and ultrasonic sensors determine the flood heights, while temperature and humidity sensors measure the atmospheric conditions. Microcontrollers in flood stations process the data, transmit and receive data via short message services (SMS) with an average of 6 seconds refresh rate in a mobile application, depending on the signal strength of sites. The operations are analyzed through a Jetson Nano server. A Bayesian network analysis classifier trained and tested data from historical data provided by the LPDRRMO generating an algorithm with 94.87% accuracy. Then, Dijkstra's shortest path process is employed to reroute the traffic incorporating the \"Friendship Route\" – an interconnected road network of Las Piñas City across various villages and subdivisions to ease the traffic along the major thoroughfares. The mobile app is made available in cross-platform for Android and iOS operating systems using React.js and React Native, and is named Electronic Flood Warning and Alternative Route System (e-WAS).","PeriodicalId":406112,"journal":{"name":"2023 15th International Conference on Computer and Automation Engineering (ICCAE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130746779","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The high-level exploits the air demand prediction and - through a hybrid MPC - defines the optimal unit commitment and compressor operating points, minimizing the network energy consumption over a long time horizon. At the low-level, compressors are controlled independently to track the references received from the upper layer in the presence of actuation constraints. The proposed control solution can be applied to different network configurations. Simulation results prove the capabilities of the strategy when compared to traditional techniques used nowadays in industry.","PeriodicalId":406112,"journal":{"name":"2023 15th International Conference on Computer and Automation Engineering (ICCAE)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131011416","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Components are pneumatically assembled of different parts which include a valve body, a spool, a screw, and a knob-spring. A PLC uses the data gathered from various sensors to control the output devices. This PLC is interfaced with a computer that acts as a human-machine interface. The HMI interface is designed in such a way that the information from the assembly station can be monitored and controlled in real-time. The process can be performed manually or automatically by changing the state of the selector switch on the HMI. A different message is displayed at each step of the assembly process to identify the progress. Different alarms are also displayed to alert the operator of possible complications during the assembly process. This project was performed in the Advanced PLC Laboratory at Michigan Technological University using an Allen Bradley CompactLogix L32E PLC. The software used includes RSLogix 5000 for programming the PLCs, and FactoryTalk View Studio for developing the SCADA HMI system.","PeriodicalId":406112,"journal":{"name":"2023 15th International Conference on Computer and Automation Engineering (ICCAE)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129227892","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The prevention and treatment of dementia patients is time-consuming because the therapy must be individually tailored to the patient’s state of health. As a result of the cost pressure in nursing homes and the shortage of nursing staff, this poses challenges for the nursing area. The use of therapy robots can help to overcome these challenges and strengthen the resilience of elderly people. Previous research has shown that the therapeutic exercises ball throwing, high-five games, and strength exercises are suitable to be supervised and executed by a dementia robot. Essential for the performance and acceptance of such a dementia robot is its interaction capability. Therefore, an adaptive, optimizing, real-time and knowledge based interaction system for the mentioned therapy exercises was researched. This classifies the dementia degree using fuzzy logic and adjusts the exercise parameters with evolutionary algorithms according to the therapy goal. For this purpose, the expert knowledge of caregivers was first collected using a knowledge acquisition and formalized into a knowledge base with a hybrid inference mechanism. A first prototype of the interaction system has already been tested in a real-time robot simulation. After transferring the knowledge-based interaction system to the real dementia robot, it will be evaluated in a test person study.","PeriodicalId":406112,"journal":{"name":"2023 15th International Conference on Computer and Automation Engineering (ICCAE)","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125565742","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They are vital for acoustic monitoring to extract useful ecological data and track biodiversity. Recently, automated bioacoustics classification drew attention from the research community due to its diverse application. To that aim, we present a novel classification method for acoustic data by fusing optimally selected signal features. The proposed method extracts the distinctive statistical features, calculated using coefficients of Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT), and fuses them with the descriptive features estimated using the Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCC). The combined feature set is then passed to different machine learning classifiers, including Random Forest (RF), Support Vector Machine (SVM), and k-Nearest Neighbors (kNN) for sound classification of different animals and birds. The evaluation results show that the proposed method improves the classification accuracy and achieved high precision on all classifiers.","PeriodicalId":406112,"journal":{"name":"2023 15th International Conference on Computer and Automation Engineering (ICCAE)","volume":"343 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116128094","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It declares when a processed product like canned goods should be consumed. Once it has passed the expiration date, the product turns into food waste. This has been a major concern globally wherein one-third of the food manufactured is wasted. Using the researchers' dataset, the study focused on creating a system that uses image processing methods to recognize the characters, and the dot-matrix print expiration dates, in canned goods using the prescribed format: day, month, and year via Convolutional Neural Network Architecture. The process of image preprocessing, recognition, extraction, and classification of expiration date characters from the input image will take place in the raspberry pi microcontroller. An LCD screen was utilized to display the translated expiration dates from sample canned goods. The research used 30 sample canned goods, 27 of them were recognized correctly while the 3 others are recognized incorrectly. With this, the system was able to achieve 90% accuracy and proved that the system can recognize the expiration date on canned goods.","PeriodicalId":406112,"journal":{"name":"2023 15th International Conference on Computer and Automation Engineering (ICCAE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116225762","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
