It also aimes to know the impact of computer use on the academic performance of faculty members and research scholars in a university setup. A survey questionnaire was administered to university academics and collected on its completion. This study has demonstrated the high use of the computer by faculty and research scholars. It is found that there exists a difference of opinion among the faculty and research scholars regarding the computer access (p=0.000), years of experience in the use of computer (p=0.000) and purpose of use (p=0.040). Library professionals must have a good working knowledge of information ethics. Codes of professional ethics can help to provide such knowledge, information ethics must be part of the education of information professionals which should provide library professionals with an understanding of ethical theories and practices and how they apply to create practical solutions. It is in the light of the above that this research work focuses on information ethics: issues and challenges for librarians in Ekiti State University. The study highlighted the works of several scholars and covered such areas as the concept of information ethics, information technology, codes of ethics, universal services and access to information, intellectual property, and information privacy among other concepts. The work adopted a survey research method and utilized questionnaire to generate data, out of the twenty four (24) copies of questionnaire distributed, twenty (83.33%) were returned with valid responses. The study found that all the research scholars are using library e-resources specifically for research work and e-journals (83%) are most used resources. However, majority of them use e-resources and printed material equally and need training regarding information retrieval and discipline specific search. CeRA (Consortium for e-Resources in Agriculture) and KrishiPrabha e-Theses, DOAJ, Agricola, sources on educational and bibliographical information and encyclopaedias are most used e-resources by the research scholars. Slow access speed in reaching the needed e-resource and difficulty in downloading are the major problems in accessing the e-resources. This paper aims to present the results of a survey research that investigated post-graduate students at Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, India. This survey research is done through a quantitative approach by using the questionnaire as a tool for data collection. The researchers designed the questionnaire with open-ended and closeended questions and distributed to post-graduate students. The data analysis revealed that major purpose to use the web tools by the students is for professional activities like finding relevant materials, sharing with friends and promoting their research. This is positive sign that students are focused and use the Web 2.0 tools for educational purpose. Students feel that privacy is the major concern for them. This study is limited to examine the students’ usage and experiences of Web 2.0 tools by small group of post-graduate students of TISS, Mumbai. Therefore, the results should not be generalized in different settings to describe all students’ experiences of the use of Web 2.0 tools. This research study gives a clear picture of students and their use of web 2.0 tools in their education. This research can be helpful to the fraternities so as to help students understand the importance of these tools.
