Considering the studies already conducted, it is important to highlight the efficacy of lithium in individuals, especially in relapse prophylaxis, acute mani a phases, and suicide prevention. Thus, this article aims to address various aspects related to the intrinsic relationship between Bipolar Disorder and the use of lithium, specifically for the maintenance therapy of this condition; to explore the mechanism of action of lithium, demonstrating the benefits of this therapy so that professionals and students in the field can gain a clearer understanding of the subject and evaluate the effectiveness of continuous lithium particle use in treatment. This work is based on a literature review conducted on the Pubmed and Scielo databases from 2018 to 2023. The descriptors used were lithium, treatment, and bipolar disorder. In this context, the review of studies on lithium is essential for healthcare proof essionals and the families of individuals to understand the importance of this substance in maintaining mood stability in patients.","PeriodicalId":405627,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Psychiatry Research Reviews & Reports","volume":"111 51","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139134520","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Among its various manifestations, respiratory effects have emerged as a critical aspect of the disease. This paper provides an overview of the respiratory complications associated with COVID-19, including acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), pneumonia, and long-term lung sequelae. We delve into the pathophysiology of these effects, exploring the immune responses, cytokine storms, and vascular complications that contribute to respiratory compromise. Furthermore, we discuss the diagnostic methods, treatment strategies, and potential long-term implications for individuals recovering from severe respiratory involvement. A comprehensive understanding of the respiratory effects of COVID-19 is crucial for informing clinical management, public health policies, and ongoing research efforts.”","PeriodicalId":405627,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Psychiatry Research Reviews & Reports","volume":"122 15","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139132777","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methodology: This is a descriptive chart review that used a purposive sampling method to determine the sociodemographic and clinical profile of patients below nineteen (19) years old, seen at the Out-Patient Department of a psychiatric facility from January 2015 to December 2019. Results: A total of 427 charts were reviewed in this study. Majority (30.2%) of the study population had their first consult in 2019, female (56%), belonged to the 12-18 age group (64%), and had high school education (43%). Then analyze the role of psychological intervention in the perioperative prognosis of liver transplantation. Methods: 27 patients with liver transplantation included in the study were randomly divided into control group (n=14) and intervention group (n=13). Psychological intervention was carried out in the intervention group from 3 days before operation until 3 days after operation. The anxiety and depression of patients in the intervention group and the control group were evaluated with Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) and Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) before and after operation, and the relevant data were collected for statistical analysis. Results: There was no significant statistical difference in the preoperative demographic data (P > 0.05). The inflammatory indicators with statistical differences after operation were ALT (p=0.010), AST (p=0.003), GGT/ALT (p=0.011), PCT (p=0.032). The median BAI of the control group and the intervention group were 26 and 27 respectively, and the median BDI were 3.5 and 4 respectively. There was no significant difference in the levels of BAI (p=0.618) and BDI (p=0.804); after operation, the median BAI of the control group and the intervention group were 27 and 24, and the median BDI were 3 and 1, respectively. The levels of BAI (p=0.004) and BDI (p=0.028) showed significant differences. Conclusions: Psychological intervention may affect the postoperative inflammation level of patients by improving their depression and anxiety to some extent. However, the impact on postoperative quality of life and long-term prognosis remains to be further evaluated.","PeriodicalId":405627,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Psychiatry Research Reviews & Reports","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116832543","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
