With the evolution over time, there are different kinds of species that evolved from a common ancestor because of the occurrence of DNA sequence rearrangements. DNA sequence similarity analysis is a major challenge since the number of sequences is rapidly increasing in the DNA database. In this research, we based a mathematical method to analyze the similarity of two DNA sequences using Graph Theory. This mathematical method started by modeling a weighted directed graph for each DNA sequence, constructing its adjacency matrix, and converting it to the representative vector for each graph. From these vectors, the similarity was determined by distance measurements such as Euclidean, Cosine, and Correlation. By keeping this method as the based method, we will check whether it is applicable for any DNA fragments in considered genomes and molecular similarity coefficients can be used as distance measurements. We will obtain similarities using the graph spectrum instead of the representative vector. Then we will compare the results from the representative vector and that of the graph spectrum. The modified method is tested by using the mitochondrial DNA of Human, Gorilla, and Orangutan. It gives the same result when the number of nucleotides in DNA fragments is increased.","PeriodicalId":404782,"journal":{"name":"Psychology and Education Journal","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132332310","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These digital or virtual currencies are encrypted using cryptography and distributed on public ledger (blockchain) across decentralised peer-to-peer (P2P) networks. Since cryptocurrencies are issued by private entities and technically beyond the controls of any states, they may be exploited by criminals for illicit purposes such as money laundering, terrorism financing and many others. Thus, this article will examine whether cryptocurrency amounts to a new form of money under the existing rules on financial services and analyse how it should be regulated. This study is a qualitative research that adopts pure legal research methodology by analysing existing laws on national currency and digital currency. Further, the study analysed other secondary sources including academic books, journal articles, conference papers, and other materials in newspapers or reputable websites. The output of the research is expected to provide an overview on the regulatory framework for cryptocurrency in Malaysia. In conclusion, the government has favoured a minimalist approach so as not to stiffen the innovation and future development of cryptocurrency in the country.","PeriodicalId":404782,"journal":{"name":"Psychology and Education Journal","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128232922","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Arabic as a third language course is an elective subject offered to undergraduate students in UiTM. Starting from June 1999, UiTM has decided that third language courses should become one of the university’s requirement subjects, making it compulsory to all first degree students.  The purpose of this study was to identify the reasons of UiTM students for choosing to study Arabic Language as their third language. The sampling involves 320 students from UiTM, who have enrolled in level 1, 2 and 3 Arabic course. This quantitative field research employs questionnaires and purposive sampling technique as the methods of data collection. The main findings are: most of them choose to learn Arabic language because it is the language of Islam and for them to understand more about Islam and also for worshipping purpose. Besides, most of them choose to learn the language for the purpose of their future career.","PeriodicalId":404782,"journal":{"name":"Psychology and Education Journal","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-08-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123158400","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Starting from explaining the different mediums through which business groups are related to politics, we focus to investigates a little studied but common mechanism that firms use to obtain state favors: business owners use political connections to seek influence to the top offices and commercial banks. Using Pakistan’s biggest private business group as a case study, we find that the accessibility to loans of the business group in favored political regimes is beyond the approved range. Once their favored ruling party is in power, the debt to equity ratio of these firms had increased dramatically without supportive increase in ROA and ROE. Same as, the other descriptive discussion on the strategic decisions of this group enabled us to infer about the benefits business group had availed during its favored regimes. So we conclude that the political power does influence the financing strategies of politically connected business group. Due to which their accessibility to bank loans facilitated them to expand their businesses and capture more market share.","PeriodicalId":404782,"journal":{"name":"Psychology and Education Journal","volume":"29 6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127210911","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of information service in improving students’ self control against sexual harassment. This is a quantitative research with an experimental design. The research population is students of a Vocational School in Padang and the sampling technique is cluster random sampling. Data collection was performed through a questionnaire on self-control and data were analyzed using t test. The results of the test reveal that information service is effective in improving students’ self control against sexual harassment, with the help of Guidance and Counseling teachers/ the school’s Counselor to prevent sexual harassment in schools.","PeriodicalId":404782,"journal":{"name":"Psychology and Education Journal","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114516832","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
