Permanent Magnet is a new addition in this arena. This paper describes the design of a direct-driven generator designed with Emetor and Flux 2D. The initial analytical design is done with Emetor. Then the experimented result is verified with a FEM (Finite Element Method) simulation software from Cedrat group named FLUX 2D. Emetor is an educational Web-based design tool for permanent-magnet synchronous machines (PMSM). In this paper the result from Emetor will be verified and further development of this tool will be proposed. The development of such tool can save the valuable time of the designer. The adsorption experiments were carried out under different conditions of initial concentration (25-500 mg/L), solution pH 2-12 and N-RP dose (0.05-1.0 g). The influence of these parameters on the adsorption capacity was studied using the batch process. MB adsorption uptake was found to increase with increase in initial concentration and contact time. The MB adsorption was unfavourable at pH<;4. Langmuir, Freundlich and Temkin isotherm models were used to illustrate the experimental isotherms and isotherms constant. The equilibrium data were best represented by Langmuir isothem model, showing maximum monolayer adsorption capacity of 231.34 mg/g. The rates of adsorption were found to obey the rules of pseudo-second order model with good correlation. Wall-slab structural system is an IBS system which is suitable for use in residential building. Moment transfer of joint is an important aspect for proper structurally functioning of wall-slab system. Hence, the main aim of this study is to investigate the effect of reinforcement details in the wall on bending capacity for support stiffness in wall-slab system for residential project in Malaysia. A total of six wall specimens were tested. Three of this specimens consisted single layer of rebar while another three specimen consisted of double layer of rebar. The size of the wall-slab's specimens is 1000 mm in length [L], 1080 mm in width [W], 1000 mm in height [H] and 80 mm in thickness [T]. The average concrete strength Grade 30 N/mm2 and the average yield strength of R5 bar was 817 MPa. The bending capacity at failure for single layered of rebar in wall for specimen 1, 2 and 3 were found to be 3.59 kNm, 3.81 kNm and 3.15 kNm, respectively. The bending capacity at failure for double layered of rebar in wall for specimen 1, 2 and 3 were 5.50 kNm, 6.31 kNm and 7.00 kNm, respectively. The difference in stiffness of double layered reinforced concrete wall based on load-deflection curve 116.2 % to 289.9 % higher than single layered reinforced concrete wall. While based on the experimental results, specimens with double layered rebar in wall is found with higher bending capacity by 56.3 % to 98.9 % compared to single layered of rebar in wall. Experimental data on bending capacity provides important input in the process of structure analysis. The experiment was conducted in 3 different time constraint. The thin films were characterized by using current-voltage (I-V) measurement (Keithley 2400). The results analyzed were for time duration of 6, 12 and 24 hour. At initial stage, the substrate which is a glass was deposited by ZnO using RF magnetron sputtering method. Zn has been doped by SnO2 using immersion process. The optical and structural properties has been characterized using photoluminescence (PL) measurement (Horiba Jobin Yvon-DU420A-OE-325 system) and field emmision scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) (JEOL JSM 6701F) respectively. The sensor were characterized using I-V measurement (Keithley 2400) in a humidity chamber (ESPEC SH-261) and the chamber has been set at same room temperature (25°C) but different percent relative humidity (RH %) at 40 RH% to 90 RH. The highest sensitivity was resulted at 24 hours immersion process. PL measurement revealed one peak at about between range red emission for all Zn-doped SnO2 thin film while for ZnO catalyst reveal two peaks at UV region (380 nm) and visible range (600 nm). The purpose of this paper is to describe the readiness of the Malaysian main contractors for collaboration in the construction industry. Based on a Malaysian wide postal questionnaire survey, the opinions of the main contractors were assessed on the readiness for collaboration and the factors influencing this readiness in the construction industry. A two page structured questionnaire was handed out to about 160 delegates at a National Forum of Malaysian Malay Contractors 2011. A total of 87 usable questionnaires were received and analysed and a critical literature review was conducted to establish, ascertain and document the factors assessing readiness for collaboration in the Malaysian construction industry. The results were analysed using descriptive analysis, frequency analysis and factor analysis. The results confirmed the existence of the factors identified in the literature review and the addition indicated that the factor analysis technique of the 21 factors of the readiness for collaboration should be grouped into six underlying factors which included business strategies, business opportunities, culture of work, level of trust, professional approach and level of commitment. Drawing from the findings, the study confirmed that the readiness for collaboration of the main contractors in Malaysia was highly influenced by business strategies and business opportunities. The paper makes an original contribution of exploring the area of readiness for collaboration in the construction industry in Malaysia from the main contractor's point-of-views. Utilizing the ModelSim-Altera, the PIE encoder architecture is simulated to observe its functionality. The neural network is trained by Levenberg-Marquardt (LM) algorithm. As a case study, it considers a 5.2MW Siemens Taurus 60S industrial gas turbine. The work is unique in the sense that it addresses the signals in the gas path, generator coils, lubrication system, and vibration sensors. Real data are used to train and corroborate the models. In order to test validity of the FDD system, we used abrupt and incipient faults generated by implanting controlled bias to the normal signals. Results show that the proposed method could detect a 10% bias with an average true detection higher than 95% while the diagnoses performance is in the range of 96 to 100%. However, there are various definitions and interpretations of this concept which stems from diverse views of different professionals. The failures of many housing and dwelling projects stems from lacking of knowledge on the determinants of Residential Satisfaction (RS) concept. This paper has utilized archival methodology for the past 13 years starting from 1997 until 2010 to compile existing definitions of RS in order to determine the core and principle of all of those various definitions. It was found out RS is a subjective dependent variable which depends on many physical and social parameters. However, the propriety of those parameters could differ for different people with different social cultural and professional background. The study's result indicates that, urban planners and designers and architects have similar points of consideration on the parameters of RS rubrics such as neighborhoods, social demographics, and housing and estate management. Nonetheless, some rubrics such as dwelling unit features, dwelling unit support services, housing conditions, and structure type are mostly emphasized by architects in comparison to the other disciplines. Besides, some rubrics such as environmental features of the housing and neighbor relationships are more emphasized by the urban planners and designers. Several researches have made international comparison of these sustainable rating tool [1], [2], [3]. However the comparison is for rating tools designed for temperate countries. Two new rating tools are now available for tropical countries i.e. BCA Green Mark in Singapore and the Green Building Index (GBI) in Malaysia. The rating tools developed for temperate countries and tropical countries are not directly comparable. This paper undertakes a harmonisation of the two tropical rating tools to allow evaluations undertaken under the two systems to be compared.
