We draw on case study research within five leading online fashion retailers to identify interweaving virtual and physical spaces of online retailing that are expressed through intra- and inter-firm digital interdependency management. This allows us to build a conceptualisation of the ‘business code/spaces’ of digital service firms, i.e., the entanglements between virtual, information-rich and responsive networked infrastructures, and materially and socially situated infrastructures. The conceptualisation of ‘business code/spaces’ reveals how combinations of embedded interpersonal decision-making within office-based work communities, networked partners, their established processes and bureaucracies, as well as the physical restrictions of space and place together reproduce spatial fixes and local–global geographies, but in ways fundamentally defined by digital technologies and business models. Our conceptualisation of ‘business code/spaces’, therefore, contributes to research examining the inter-relationships between ‘the digital’ and business practices as well as work concerning global retailing.","PeriodicalId":404477,"journal":{"name":"Mechanical Engineering eJournal","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132461765","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Medical images get corrupted by gaussian and speckle noises in general. In this paper, Noisy image is obtained by adding either Gaussian noise or speckle noise of range 5 to 50. For MR brain tumor image de-noising purpose, deep learning models like pretrained DnCNN, and proposed deepCNN are considered. The performance of deep learning models are evaluated in terms of parameters like PSNR, SSIM, MSE, and MAE. The proposed DeepCNN model gives better performance in achieving denoising than other method due to usage of batch normalization, ReLU, and 17 convolutional layers so that the training process gets speeded up, the denoising performance is boosted and over fitting problem is also avoided by doing augmentation of the datasets.","PeriodicalId":404477,"journal":{"name":"Mechanical Engineering eJournal","volume":"2016 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127424618","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The wear resistance of the bronze elements of the friction pairs determines the life of the axial-plunger pumps and affects their \"feed – pressure\" main characteristics.<br><br>The studies were based on the theory of experimental design and statistical methods for processing test results. The research methodology provided for modeling the process of sliding friction using a \"block – roller\" friction pair on the SMC-2 friction machine (the country is the manufacturer of the USSR, modernization in Ukraine). This type of friction takes place in the \"plunger – cylinder block\", \"distribution disk – cylinder block\" tribosystem. Also, the method was supposed to pre-treat the hydraulic oil with an electrostatic field in the device, followed by feeding it into the tank with a roller using a pump station. Two independent factors varied: electrostatic field strength and hydraulic oil operating time. The constant factors were the hydraulic oil flow rate in the device, hydraulic oil temperature, contact pressure, linear roller sliding speed and time of each test.<br><br>The obtained experimental data made it possible to establish a regularity characterizing the sliding friction process when a force field is applied to hydraulic oil. This pattern reveals the effect of electrostatic field strength and hydraulic oil operation on the wear resistance of a bronze block, which was tested on a friction machine SMC-2. This made it possible to determine the rational values of the parameters of the electrostatic field, at which the maximum wear resistance of the bronze is achieved depending on the operating time of the hydraulic oil, ranging from 1 • 106 V/m to 1.25 • 106 V/m. Thus, the effect of the field on oil helps to increase the wear resistance of bronze up to 5 times in the conditions of hydraulic oil in the delivery state and up to 3 times in oil with an operating time of 2000 hours. The influence of the field leads to polarization effects in the oil, which contribute to the formation of quasicrystalline films on the friction surface, increasing the tribojunction wear resistance.","PeriodicalId":404477,"journal":{"name":"Mechanical Engineering eJournal","volume":"96 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133314292","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The specimens pre-deformed at 213 K introduced uniformly distributed dislocations, while those at 298 K formed dislocation cell structure. After the pre-deformation, tensile tests and stress-relaxation tests were performed at room temperature. The specimens with uniformly distributed dislocations exhibited significantly lower yield stress and larger stress-relaxation than those with cell-structured dislocations even under almost same dislocation density. This result suggests that the uniformly distributed dislocations contain a large amount of mobile dislocations which can easily move at a low stress compared with the cell-structured dislocations.","PeriodicalId":404477,"journal":{"name":"Mechanical Engineering eJournal","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125195943","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Most of the standard deep learning models for vision are based on convolutional neural networks. One such model is DenseNet, which is well known for providing comparable results to ResNet with fewer trainable variables. This paper proposes a mechanism to improve the performance of DenseNet architecture. We have compared our proposed approach with the original DenseNet architecture on CIFAR100 dataset. Effects of applying dropout mechanism with our proposed mechanism is also studied on DenseNet model and the obtained results showed that our approach helps DenseNet to significantly improve the performance and helping the model to learn faster. The implementation of such an idea allows for one revolution of imbalances to realize the number of vibration actions on the technological environment, how many vibration units the installation has. Thus, the frequency spectrum is implemented, which significantly increases the efficiency of the process. The proposed scheme is suitable for the implementation of various processes with a reduction in energy consumption compared to existing designs of vibration machines. A design diagram of a vibration unit with four vibration blocks is developed. A mathematical model is selected based on the representation of machine parameters as discrete, and the processing medium as continuous. The simulation of the working process of the vibration unit is based on the use of the finite element method. The finite element model is composed by approximating all the supporting elements, including the shaping surfaces, by two-dimensional finite elements. Vibration isolating supports and elastic elements of the model are adopted three-dimensional, since the processes occurring in such structural elements are more complex in terms of energy dissipation. The workflow of an energy-saving vibration unit that implements polyphase vibrations is investigated. The equations of motion of such a system are compiled and the amplitudes and frequencies of vibrations that determine this movement are determined. The distribution of the amplitudes of the vibrations along the perimeter of the frame, mounted on the vibration blocks of the vibration unit, is estimated. The possibility of efficient use of the polyphase spectrum of vibrations when performing the processes of sorting and compaction of materials based on the implementation of shear and normal stresses is determined. The proposed scheme of an energy-saving vibration unit and certain parameters open up a real opportunity for creating a new class of machines for use in various industries. The obtained results are used in the design of an energy-saving design of a vibration unit with a rational choice of phase angles for compaction of process media","PeriodicalId":404477,"journal":{"name":"Mechanical Engineering eJournal","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114794707","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Accordingly handling the exact approximation data along with privacy and security is definitely linked with major importance. In such cases, implementation of green information technology may be thought of considering the impact in the business, social and environmental sectors to prevent data selection bias along with discrimination in data aggregation. In broad sense, the green information technology usually focuses towards consumption of energy along with extractions from hardware as well as software. Specifically towards enhancing the efficiency linked to hardware and data centers, it may have to be thought of consolidating data servers and eradicating the wastages. Accordingly, the green computing may be more beneficial in such situations to improve the efficiency in favour of environment and towards reuse and recycling. As per massive increase of data the size and number of data centers are also increased; sometimes it may be also due to quick adoption of Internet communications, application along with disaster recovery. The energy consumption towards data centers in such case is almost fifty percent of operating costs of data centers and creates massive pressure on the surrounding. In such cases, the cloud data centers may be thought of to resolve this issue along with the application of artificial intelligence as well as perceiving and decision making.
