The accuracy and validity of these approaches are then explored by comparisons between the retrieved results, and a comparison of these results with the quasi-static Lord Rayleigh prediction.","PeriodicalId":404116,"journal":{"name":"2010 URSI International Symposium on Electromagnetic Theory","volume":"232 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115565367","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The results are further employed as a basis for a physically motivated channel model. The main concept of the presented approach is the modeling of the resolved multipath components both in the delay as well as in the Doppler domain, by means of statistically parametrized functions approximating the measured results.","PeriodicalId":404116,"journal":{"name":"2010 URSI International Symposium on Electromagnetic Theory","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115314973","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The exact solution of the scattering problem given by Meixner and Andrejewski is used to derive the low frequency (Rayleigh) approximation for the scattered field. The results are compared with those obtained by expanding the fields on the disc in powers of k. Characteristic features of the low frequency scattering from the disc are studied, and closed-form approximations for various scattering cross sections are presented.","PeriodicalId":404116,"journal":{"name":"2010 URSI International Symposium on Electromagnetic Theory","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115715019","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For electrically large closed surfaces, the CFIE is often much more efficient because it yields a well conditioned impedance matrix. This is particularly important when an iterative solution method is used. This paper compares the EFIE and the CFIE for a novel fast direct (non-iterative) solution method, the Multiscale Compressed Block Decomposition method.","PeriodicalId":404116,"journal":{"name":"2010 URSI International Symposium on Electromagnetic Theory","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127544545","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Olyslager1 of the 1990's concerning the generalization of classes of electromagnetic media in which fields can be naturally decomposed in two noninteracting components. As a continuation to this research it is shown that the medium classes, originally defined in terms of three-dimensional Gibbsian dyadic algebra, can be introduced in a compact manner by applying four-dimensional multivector dyadic formalism. It is also shown that these classes are closed in the affine transformation.","PeriodicalId":404116,"journal":{"name":"2010 URSI International Symposium on Electromagnetic Theory","volume":"71 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125927770","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Matrix Pencil method is a technique that directly deals with the data to estimate the poles corresponding to the directions of arrival, and works well under a correlated signal case. This is in contrast to ESPRIT, a statistical subspace based estimation technique, which will work for the correlated case after applying some additional spatial smoothing techniques to the covariance matrix of the data. Simulation results are provided to compare the performance between these two methods. The results clearly demonstrates that when a small number of snapshots, including a single one, is available to process the data, the MP method always performs better than the ESPRIT method.","PeriodicalId":404116,"journal":{"name":"2010 URSI International Symposium on Electromagnetic Theory","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126041522","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To realize the dual-band operation of the left-handed and the zeroth-order resonant mode, six equilateral triangular patches which are consists of the coupling gap and the through-hole via are isotropically arranged and the feeding structure is wired to one patch. The equilateral triangular ground slots are embedded for the gain improvements of the proposed antenna at each resonant mode. By only increasing the slot size ranged from 0 mm to 11 mm without changing the radiator elements, the antenna gains have been excellently increased at each operating mode. The measured gains of the proposed antenna are improved by up to 11.69 dB in the left-handed and 11.18 dB in zeroth-order resonant modes at the slot size of 11 mm, respectively in good agreements with the simulated results.","PeriodicalId":404116,"journal":{"name":"2010 URSI International Symposium on Electromagnetic Theory","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123601400","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
