By beamforming and splitting the transmission power for both sending information to the target receiver and interfering the eavesdroppers, the secured communication can be achieved. Because the beamforming vectors for information and jamming signals are calculated with channel information of the target receiver, the channel variation can cause the loss of the expected secrecy rate. In this paper, this rate loss is analyzed in high signal to noise ratio (SNR) region. It is verified that the analyzed upper bound behaves similarly the exact one with respect to both SNR and mobile speed with a constant gap.","PeriodicalId":403815,"journal":{"name":"2016 Eighth International Conference on Ubiquitous and Future Networks (ICUFN)","volume":"59 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-07-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128447912","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To achieve this, a demonstrator application is used in multiple measurements to analyze the packet delivery ratio of different setups. Since no official mesh implementation for Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) has been released to this date, the proprietary, BLE-based CSRmesh protocol is used in this study. Besides the measurement campaign, several simulations were performed in order to study the suitability of Bluetooth Mesh in large-scale networks. Our results show that Bluetooth Mesh is a promising technology for mesh applications but additional effort is required during the ongoing standardization process to exploit its full potential.","PeriodicalId":403815,"journal":{"name":"2016 Eighth International Conference on Ubiquitous and Future Networks (ICUFN)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-07-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124398262","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to save human lives, ITS safety applications collect various information from neighboring vehicles. For the ITS safety application, each vehicle periodically broadcasts beacon messages in order to update the information to the neighbors. However, due to the wireless nature of the ITS network, congestion declines performance of the safety application. Previous beacon transmission rate control schemes only focusing on the distributed beacon rate control which each individual node controls its beacon transmission with locally collected channel condition via one-hop neighbors. However, channel condition detected among adjacent node can vary and adapted beacon transmission rate can be various either. This unfairness of number of beacon transmission will decrease awareness on the node which is less frequently transmitting beacon. In this paper, we proposed a request based beacon rate control scheme to alleviate the unfairness of beacon transmission rate while maximizing performance of vehicular safety applications.","PeriodicalId":403815,"journal":{"name":"2016 Eighth International Conference on Ubiquitous and Future Networks (ICUFN)","volume":"65 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-07-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128495717","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The features of the proposed adaptive control CRE technique are described through comparison with those of conventional methods. With eICIC in a HetNet, system-level computer simulation results such as average user throughput and 5-percentile user throughput are provided as parameters of almost blank subframes ratio for eICIC. This approach provides a remarkably effective solution for eICIC in a HetNet.","PeriodicalId":403815,"journal":{"name":"2016 Eighth International Conference on Ubiquitous and Future Networks (ICUFN)","volume":"86 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-07-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128588502","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This uneven energy consumption can significantly reduce network lifetime. The use of sink mobility with constrained paths and decreasing the message flood by limiting the flood area can help to improve the energy efficiency in WSNs. Maximum Amount Shortest Path routing (MASP) is an efficient protocol using this idea. MASP is proactive (table-driven) in nature and tries to collect the largest amount of data with least energy. MASP makes use of constrained paths for the trajectories of mobile sinks and divides the deployed sensor nodes into independent zones to construct the routing tables. In this paper we discuss the implementation of MASP and conduct a performance evaluation of it using the ns-3 network simulator.","PeriodicalId":403815,"journal":{"name":"2016 Eighth International Conference on Ubiquitous and Future Networks (ICUFN)","volume":"251 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-07-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114589473","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Though ToF cameras can provide high accuracy in location-based services with high frame rates (approx. 30 fps), they are facing some problems like multipath interference (MPI), internal scattering, motion blur, etc. The interferences inherent to ToF camera can influence the measurements by several centimeters. In this paper, we formulate a model to mitigate MPI and light scattering problems through a combination of scale-invariant feature transform (SIFT) and iterative closest point (ICP). We use SIFT algorithm for image features extraction and ICP for error correction during estimation. Finally, we present simulation results to prove the scalability and flexibility of our proposed algorithm for both MPI and light scattering mitigation.","PeriodicalId":403815,"journal":{"name":"2016 Eighth International Conference on Ubiquitous and Future Networks (ICUFN)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-07-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126552021","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we propose Multiple-Input and Multiple-Output (MIMO) system using Hyperbolic Frequency Modulation (HFM) waveform. Our system combines the advantages of both system, the spatial multiplexing of MIMO and Doppler-tolerance of HFM. To increase spectral efficiency, we use M-ray HFM, and overlapped sub-channel by leveraging the high temporal resolution characteristic of HFM. Also, massive operation overhead in the receiver side is drastically reduced using Fast Fourier Transform (FFT). Based on our acoustic simulator, the performance of MIMO-HFM is evaluated to show its multipathfading resolution and Doppler-invariant. The simulation results show that the MIMO-HFM is robust in error-prone acoustic channel while increasing data rate as compared with single antenna system.","PeriodicalId":403815,"journal":{"name":"2016 Eighth International Conference on Ubiquitous and Future Networks (ICUFN)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-07-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122773388","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
