Nonlinear system identification is challenging because of its complexity and unpredictability. The nonlinear system considered in this paper is Rotary Inverted Pendulum which is unstable and non-minimum phase system. Inverted pendulum is a well-known benchmark system in control system laboratories which is inherently unstable. In this work full dynamics of the system is derived using classical mechanics and Lagrangian formulation. Hence, it is necessary to discriminate the fault condition and power swing condition in case of line protection. During fault on transmission line the reactive power & voltage will change drastically compare to power swing condition. This paper demonstrates a new method based on rate of change of reactive power and rate of change of voltage which effectively discriminates various types of fault and power swing conditions. The derivative of line reactive power & voltage variation is calculated by utilizing local end voltage & current signals. The proposed algorithm is evaluated by simulating various disturbances on two machine system of 220 kV network in PSCAD/EMTDC software package. The power swing conditions are simulated by fault isolation, change in mechanical input to turbine of generating stations, switching of heavy loads connected to bus and disconnection of heavily loaded parallel transmission line. Moreover, various types of short circuit faults are simulated on the transmission line including faults during power swing and high resistance fault. Turbo code has proven its effectiveness in the field of wireless communication system. The purpose of this paper is to implement the LOG MAP Turbo Decoder in VHDL. As it helps to achieve the highest coding gain therefore It is said, the best coding scheme for the error correction in high-speed wireless communication systems. However, the implementation of various Turbo Decoders suffers from a large propagation delay and high power consumption. For this reason, they are not suitable for Mobile communication applications. Hence, by implementing a Log Map Turbo Decoder in mobile handsets would make the processing fast as well as increase the quality of signal and accuracy of our whole system. It can be created by a serial connection of a turbo encoder and a decoder. In this paper GSA is implemented to economic operation of a two area power system and computes how much power has to be generated internally in an area and how much power has to be borrowed from other area through tie-line for a specified load in most economical sense. This method is explained with an example and the result obtained by the proposed method is compared with by particle swarm optimization (PSO) as reported in literature. Analysis and evaluation of H.263 video codec is important because it enable us to determine output parameter, which is peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR) or quality of picture. In this paper, the performance of H.263 video codec is evaluated and analyzed for various advance options such as syntax based arithmetic coding (SBAC), advanced prediction mode, unrestricted motion vector mode etc. The H.264/AVC is an international video coding standard, jointly developed by groups from ISO/IEC and ITU-T, which aims at achieving improved compression performance. Various applications of H.264/AVC include conversational, storage, and streaming. For H.264 Video codec we proposed algorithm for advance options such as context adaptive binary arithmetic coding (CABAC). The improvement in video quality with the use of these advance options of H.263 is of the order of 0.8 dB or more. Conventionally, back-to-back topology is employed, which requires dc-link capacitor and needs large energy storage elements. This is disadvantageous for low space applications like aeroplanes, electric vehicles etc. The alternative is seen in matrix converters. The maximum limit on attainable output voltage in a three-phase input matrix converter is found to be 50 % of the input voltage. It is found that this limit can be increased to 78.86 % for three-phase input to five-phase output matrix converter. To achieve this, input and output waveforms are optimized. Coefficients are accordingly derived. A simplified modulation method for five-phase output is defined. Gradually increasing the load, the SNB point is determined using the modified Continuation Power Flow (MCPF) algorithm considering the practical security constraints. The three different sets of the security limits (i.e. three cases) are judged for the voltage stability analysis. The weakest and the weaker buses are detected from the power flow solution at the SNB point for the all cases. The three different reconfiguration are implemented on the identified weaker lines. For the all cases and for the all test systems, the loading margin or the SNB point is enhanced and the voltage stability is improved as the voltage magnitudes of the weaker buses are increased. The line loss of each reconfigured line is significantly reduced. The overall network line losses are also minimized for the all cases. The optimal location and the suitable lines for the reconfiguration are demonstrated with the results. FQL algorithm combines reinforcement learning (RL) approach with fuzzy modeling; however, it fails to address the stability issue of the designed controller. Proposed approach is specifically aimed at addressing this shortcoming. Proposed controller combines powerful generalization and learning capability of fuzzy systems with Lyapunov theory based control that guarantees stability. To demonstrate the viability and effectiveness of the Lyapunov theory based adaptive fuzzy learning approach over basic FQL methodology, we compare the performance of the controller on two degrees of freedom standard two link robot manipulator which is a highly coupled, time varying nonlinear system. The variation of secondary current at the time of saturation has been carried out using first order system and slope of current waveform envelope. The slope magnitude of current envelope may depend on low to high degree of saturation. Based on characteristic of current envelope and its slope magnitude, level of CT saturation can be estimated. The fault data with CT saturation condition are generated using the PSCAD/EMTDC software package and algorithm is implemented in MATLAB software. A low-pass, first order Butterworth filter with cutoff frequency of 400 Hz is used to smoothen the CT secondary current. Various parameters such as remanent flux, burden resistance and presence of DC offset are considered for the validation of the proposed algorithm. Also different methods to improve the performance of the converter are analyzed. The transfer function is derived via mathematical modeling of DC-DC buck converter while considering the parasitic effects. Phase margin and gain margin are obtained by plotting the bode plot in the Control toolbox of MATLAB which defines the stability of the system. Step response and impulse response curves are plotted that defines the dynamic behavior of the system.
