Virtualization technology paved the way for the growth of virtual forensics. VMware virtual environment provides a completely virtualized set of hardware to the guest operating system. The features of Virtual Machine make it an interesting platform to commit cyber crimes. The combination of innovative criminal techniques and advanced technologies makes the traditional techniques out-dated for detecting such crimes. This paper discusses how live acquisition can be performed to acquire virtual machine related files from the host operating system. The paper also describes how to analyze these acquired files to obtain raw data stored in various grains. The study is supported by methods that assist forensic examiners by providing valuable information from the raw data which is retrieved from various grains pointed by grain table entries.","PeriodicalId":403064,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Mutli-Conference on Automation, Computing, Communication, Control and Compressed Sensing (iMac4s)","volume":"111 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130694955","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Mobile ad-hoc network has no fixed topology due to mobility of nodes, interference, path loss and multipath propagation. Therefore, MANET has to need dynamic routing protocols for these networks to function properly for delivering the data packets from source node to desired destination. In MANETs, the nodes make the mobile and battery operated. Since the nodes have limited battery resources and multi-hop routes are used over a changing network environment due to behavior of the node mobility, it requires energy aware efficient routing protocols to limit the power consumption, make longer the battery life time and to improve the robustness of the system. In this paper we evaluates the performance of well-known and widely investigated in terms of energy efficiency and it also proposes a new routing algorithm that modifies AOMDV and it provides better performance compared to all the protocols in the presence of scenario with high traffic and long simulation time.","PeriodicalId":403064,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Mutli-Conference on Automation, Computing, Communication, Control and Compressed Sensing (iMac4s)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129852392","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A common solution for ICI reduction and throughput improvement has been proposed in this paper. This paper presents a novel technique to estimate CFO in Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing systems using Viterbi and Viterbi (VAV) algorithm. The proposed method is blind with less complexity and more CFO estimation range. The estimation range mainly depends on the maximum number of phase angles possible for the constellation. It is necessary to meet the energy needs by utilizing the renewable energy resources like wind, biomass, hydro co-generation, etc. Injection of the wind power into an electric grid affects the power quality. The main power quality issues are voltage sag, swell, flickers, harmonics etc. In this proposed scheme STATic COMpensator (STATCOM) is connected at the point of common coupling with a battery energy storage system (BESS) to mitigate the power quality issues. The battery energy storage is integrated to sustain the real power source under fluctuating wind power. Here two control schemes for STATCOM are compared: Bang-Bang current controller and Fuzzy logic controller. Bang-Bang controller is a hysteresis current controlled technique. The operation of the two STATCOM control schemes for maintaining the power quality of the grid connected wind energy system is investigated using MATLAB/SIMULINK.","PeriodicalId":403064,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Mutli-Conference on Automation, Computing, Communication, Control and Compressed Sensing (iMac4s)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129286557","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper we present various adaptive noise cancelers (ANCs) for cleaning ECG signal based on Least Mean Fourth (LMF) algorithms. LMF algorithm exhibits lower steady state error than the conventional Least Mean Square (LMS) algorithm. This is due to the fact that the excess mean-square error of the LMS algorithm is dependent only on the second order moment of the noise. The second order moment, or variance of the noise evaluates to be the same for all the noise environments. Based upon this other types of mean fourth based algorithms are implemented. These are Normalized LMF (NLMF), Error Normalized LMF (ENLMF) and their block based versions BBNLMF and BBENLMS. Different filter structures are presented to eliminate various artifacts present in the ECG. Finally, we have applied these algorithms on real ECG signals obtained from the MIT-BIH data base. The experiments confirms that the performance of the normalized ANCs are superior to the LMF.","PeriodicalId":403064,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Mutli-Conference on Automation, Computing, Communication, Control and Compressed Sensing (iMac4s)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127630385","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Most of the smart phones provide a built-in Navigation or Map application with some sort of GPS capability. These navigation applications provide accurate navigation for outdoor location using GPS unit of the Smartphone. But providing an accurate navigation inside a closed building is still a challenge. Several solutions are available in the market for indoor navigation using Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and AGPS. But their reliability of navigation in all given scenarios is still a challenge. In this paper, we elicit a cost effective and 3D (latitude, longitude and altitude) smart phone solution which helps in indoor navigation with the help of QR codes [1]. QR codes are used in this context to provide location information to the user optically. QR codes will be used all across the building to carry the information required for the navigation system. The mobile application will use the QR codes to provide accurate indoor navigation for the user.","PeriodicalId":403064,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Mutli-Conference on Automation, Computing, Communication, Control and Compressed Sensing (iMac4s)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127612866","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In UnderWater Acoustic transmission, two main effects are delay spread and Doppler shift. It has been found[10] that while sampling in the delay - Doppler domain, the effect of the channel can be treated as sparse. Thus framing the estimation problem as an optimization problem of the form of a Basis Pursuit De Noising (BPDN)[21] and solving it using sparse reconstruction methods could be a good technique. In addition to giving good sparse solution, the technique also assures low computational complexity, (due to iterative nature of solution methodology) when compared to traditional estimation methods like Least Square Estimation (LSE) and Minimum Mean Square Error Estimation(MMSE).","PeriodicalId":403064,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Mutli-Conference on Automation, Computing, Communication, Control and Compressed Sensing (iMac4s)","volume":"114 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117105653","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Racing cars need to have very high acceleration and the maximum speed is much greater than that of the conventional vehicles. Further, timing being of acute importance the design of the exact gear ratio plays a crucial role. The hybrid vehicles are those which make use of more than one source of energy. In this paper we consider a hybrid system consisting of IC engine and electric motor. The optimal gear ratio is designed so that the formula car runs as an electric vehicle. The design is extended to include the IC engine and the parallel hybrid system is simulated to test for the performance characteristics of the vehicle. The complete design of the gear ratio is based on fundamental laws of physics and hence simplicity is at the core of the design.","PeriodicalId":403064,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Mutli-Conference on Automation, Computing, Communication, Control and Compressed Sensing (iMac4s)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115249630","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents the design of a simple low cost wireless GSM energy meter and its associated web interface, for automating billing and managing the collected data globally. The proposed system replaces traditional meter reading methods and enables remote access of existing energy meter by the energy provider. Also they can monitor the meter readings regularly without the person visiting each house. A GSM based wireless communication module is integrated with electronic energy meter of each entity to have remote access over the usage of electricity. A PC with a GSM receiver at the other end, which contains the database acts as the billing point. Live meter reading from the GSM enabled energy meter is sent back to this billing point periodically and these details are updated in a central database. A new interactive, user friendly graphical user interface is developed using Microsoft visual studio .NET framework and C#. With proper authentication, users can access the developed web page details from anywhere in the world.
