The arrival of populations from the countryside coupled with a process of spatial sprawl is part of the urban catching up that the country has been doing since the liberalization of its economy at the end of the 1980s. Poles of concentration of value and population are rapidly being formed: the metropolises. The Vietnamese metropolises, starting with the capital city-province of Hanoi, are the vehicle and modus operandi of the country's transition to a market economy, and they crystallize a number of social tensions linked in particular to the entrenchment, or even the clash, of rural and urban cultures. The study analyses the dynamics of Hanoi's official statements and identifies factors influencing its position, as well as examines the position of Vietnamese society. The article draws on a variety of sources, including Russian, Vietnamese and Western media sources. The author points out the need to consider the basic principles of the Vietnam foreign policy in order to better understand its position on the issue. However, the relationship between internal migration and religious participation has remained a study gap in Vietnam which has witnessed many migration flows. Therefore, the present study will aim to 1) describe the characteristics of Catholic migrants and clarify the religious participation level of Catholic migrants; 2) define the religious participation level of Catholic migrants, and 3) analyze the challenges for migrants to maintain religious life at the destination. By collecting the quantitative and qualitative data, the research results indicated that the feminization of migration is typically in the Catholic community; the average age of Catholic migrants is young, and the marriage rate and technical qualification are relatively higher than migrants in Vietnam in general. It is noted that the numeral components in the phraseological units can both retain their quantitative meaning and be subjected to partial or complete desemantization. The most productive numeral components of phraseological units in the Vietnamese language are quantitative numerals of the first ten, while the largest number of set expressions are with the numeral một one. In the vast majority of Vietnamese phraseological units, several numerals are used simultaneously, usually two. This is due to the application of the principle of parallelism in the construction of most phraseological units. With the opposite use of numerals, it is possible both to use the same numeral several times, and to use different numerals together. It is noted that ordinal numbers in phraseological units are mostly devoid of symbolic meaning and retain their specific meanings. The features of various groups of numeral phraseological units borrowed from the Chinese language are considered. Using the number ba three as an example, different types of symbolic meanings of numerative components are analyzed. In the course of the study, extensive illustrative material was used.
