In cases like these, FDP technique utilizes particular human externally visible characteristics (EVC) to deduce not only the physical appearance but also to estimate biological ages and even certain behavioral characteristics, such as smoking and alcohol consumption behaviors [1-4]. As FDP shows potential for its forensic operability by assuring reliable prediction results, Europe and America have already developed or in the process of developing prediction models, managing FDP as one of the investigative methods. However, high maternal and perinatal mortality rates are observed. Moreover, it is frequently associated with severe preeclampsia or HELLP syndrome (a group of symptoms that include hemolytic anemia, hepatic enzyme increase, and thrombocytopenia). About 80% of the cases involve women who are in their thirties and with a medical history of multiparity and gestational hypertension [1-3]. Its surgical treatments include drainage, hepatic artery ligation, and resection of intrahepatic hematoma. In addition, conservative treatments, such as simultaneous intravenous fluid, transfusion with hemostasis via radiologic hepatic artery embolization, are available. In cases of hepatic hemorrhage, a mortality rate of up to 30% is observed, and liver transplantation may be considered to save a patient’s life [4]. Herein, a case of a woman with twin pregnancy was studied. Working with such minute quantities of DNA can be challenging for clinical DNA profiling. The feasibility of using massively parallel sequencing (MPS) for fDNA profiling with high enough sensitivity to diagnose aneuploidy, subchromosomal aberrations, and monogenic disorders has recently been demonstrated [3]. Single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) panels have great potential for use in fDNA profiling by allowing analysis of fragmented DNA or low copynumber templates, particularly with MPS technology. Particularly in Korea, age estimation in adults has been increase in the demand for incorrect birth records in order to be entitled to civil liability, social benefits, employment. The reduction of pulp cavity size as a result of secondary dentin deposit with increasing age could be used to estimate age. This regressive change can be analyzed using radiological techniques; thus, a variety of methods for dental age estimation based on this approach have been proposed. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the concurrence between the Drusini’s method and the Jeon’s method using the mandibular first molar on orthopantomographs (OPGs) in Korean adults. A total of 232 OPGs (91 females and 141 males) of Korean individuals with ages ranging from 20 to 69 years were analyzed using Drusini’s method and Jeon’s method. Our results revealed that the correlation of the two methods with age was statistically significant (r=0.501). Both Drusini’s method and Jeon’s method showed significant correlation with chronological age, and Jeon’s method showed a greater correlation with chronological age (r=0.738) than Drusini’s method (r=0.586). The mean absolute error was 7.99 years for Jeon’s method and 9.79 years for Drusini’s method.
