Machine learning is one of the technologies which is used for decision making and also make predictions by learning more from dataset. Since huge amount of data is streaming very fast, it needs to be classified in short duration. In this paper we aim to achieve faster classification by using Big Data with Naïve Bayes Classifier. We have demonstrated this by using HIVE to store and process data.","PeriodicalId":400935,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Recent Advances and Innovations in Engineering (ICRAIE)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128938383","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper performs the optimal design and specify the dimensions, energy planning, and evaluate the performance of a microgrid to supply the electrical and thermal load using renewable energies. The hybrid system consists of PV, diesel generator and battery that are designed for off-grid applications. In this system, PV and diesel can be considered as the main sources, while batteries are used as storage and backup system. The desired system is evaluated in terms of economic, environmental and performance. In this study, the HOMER software is used to perform simulations and studies. The simulation results indicate that the proposed microgrid would be an appropriate solution to supply the electrical and thermal load for stand-alone applications.","PeriodicalId":400935,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Recent Advances and Innovations in Engineering (ICRAIE)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132808381","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Availability Based Tariff (ABT) is one such reform which is beneficial to all the stake holders of power system. This regulatory reform is being implemented in two stages i.e. Interstate ABT and Intrastate ABT. The interstate ABT mechanism has been made fully operational at regional level whereas the Intra-state ABT mechanism is still being implemented in some states. Non operation of Intra-state ABT mechanism in these states has resulted in various issues related to grid indiscipline and exorbitant financial implication on the distribution utilities. It also creates the anomaly between state and central regulatory bodies. This paper presents study and analysis of these issues in detail and its implication on power system.","PeriodicalId":400935,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Recent Advances and Innovations in Engineering (ICRAIE)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133151839","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The investigation presents here seeks to quantify the impact of noise on mel-frequency cepstral coefficients (MFCC) of speech signal. MFCC is one of the most commonly used features for speech recognition systems. However, it has been observed that performance of MFCC based system degrades drastically with changing noise levels and noise types. In the present study, different noise types at different levels have been added to the clean speech signal and the changes in statistical distribution pattern of the signal has been investigated. Further, performance of two commonly used noise normalization techniques Cepstral Mean and Variance Normalization (CMVN) and Spectral Subtraction (SS) have also been evaluated.","PeriodicalId":400935,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Recent Advances and Innovations in Engineering (ICRAIE)","volume":"87 6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127443886","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, comparative performance analysis of PMSM on basis of speed regulation has been done in this study. Comparison of two control strategies i.e. Field oriented control (FOC) without sensor less Model Reference Adaptive System (MRAS) and FOC with sensor less MRAS has been carried out. Sensor less speed control of PMSM is achieved by using estimated speed deviation as feedback signal for the PI controller. Performance of the both control strategies has been evaluated in in MATLAB Simulink software. Simulation studies show the response of PMSM speed during various conditions of load and speed variations. Obtained results reveal that the proposed MRAS technique can effectively estimate the speed of rotor with high exactness and torque response is significantly quick as compared to the system without MRAS control system.","PeriodicalId":400935,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Recent Advances and Innovations in Engineering (ICRAIE)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130610727","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These motes gathered together and collect data by observing the surroundings and reported the information to one or more reliable links. This valuable data only be accessible between two communicating parties. To secure the data that delivers between the two parties, we require a secure node authentication scheme. Wireless sensor networks are special networks which attract several researchers due to the variety of applications but at the same time it suffers from many hazards. There are many guaranteed solutions but authentication assumes to give the best result among them. But sometimes it would be an energy consuming process. So, we need a safe and energy efficient mechanism to secure the whole network. In this paper, we have proposed a mechanism to authenticate nodes in a WSN. The proposed mechanism is simple and secure.","PeriodicalId":400935,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Recent Advances and Innovations in Engineering (ICRAIE)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123062801","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to this explosive growth of online content, automated search engine programs are used to search and categorize billions of webpages and show only the most relevant pages for the search query submitted by the user. Search engines employ combination of automated algorithms, manually edited directories and advertisements to generate results for users' queries. In this paper, we propose and implement an augmented version of the standard PageRank algorithm [1] by using ‘weight’ of in-linked web pages. Rather than evenly dividing the weight of an in-linked webpage, our technique distributes it to all the out linked pages on the basis of their popularity. We name this enhanced page ranking algorithm as WIL (Weightage In-Link) PageRank algorithm. WIL uses the weights of in-linked webpages to calculate a new score of every individual webpage called WIL-score. Later the webpages can be ranked according to this WIL-score.","PeriodicalId":400935,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Recent Advances and Innovations in Engineering (ICRAIE)","volume":"100 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124891053","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the advancement of this technology, one of the major concerns these days is of security. There are so many attacks possible on WSN, in Distributed-Denial of Service (DDOS) attacks, malicious nodes adapts many attacks such as flooding attack, black hole attack and warm hole attack to halt the overall functioning of network The risks are even more when we talk about military and industrial applications. Furthermore in WSN there are so many constrains like limited battery power, low capabilities of nodes etc. To present a security model that will consider these constraints and provide security is a major challenge these days. There are many mechanisms which are proposed by researchers to detect or defend from this DDOS attack In this paper we will review these approaches on basis of various parameters.","PeriodicalId":400935,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Recent Advances and Innovations in Engineering (ICRAIE)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125215000","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
