Good agreement between the 2*2 and 4*4 matrix methods and the GGOA is demonstrated. In general, GGOA's results are the same as those obtained by the 2*2 method, and the maximum discrepancy between the 2*2 and 4*4 matrix methods is less than 3%. However, the computation time for the 2*2 propagation matrix is less than one half that of the faster 4*4 propagation matrix. In addition, a simple analytic formula for calculating the electrooptics as a function of viewing angle is obtained. An improved 4*4 propagation matrix method to eliminate the Fabry-Perot effects was also obtained.<<ETX>>","PeriodicalId":399708,"journal":{"name":"Conference Record of the 1991 International Display Research Conference","volume":"91 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1991-10-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132764476","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

CA (computer application) TFT-LCD (thin-film transistor liquid crystal display) panels driven by this driver can simultaneously display 6-b (64 gray level) images with 262144 colors. A system has been developed that can produce both CA and AV (audio-visual) images by compressing 8-b video data into 6-b data using the interframe modulation method. This study has demonstrated success in developing technology that can generate natural color on a CA TFT-LCD display. Through this technology, it has been shown that conventional CA and AV panel functions can be combined in a single CA-type display.<<ETX>>","PeriodicalId":399708,"journal":{"name":"Conference Record of the 1991 International Display Research Conference","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1991-10-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124074091","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This TFT has been applied to 10.4-in-diagonal LCDs (liquid crystal displays). Because of the high quality of CVD SiO/sub 2/, Vth drift, which was often observed after prolonged application of gate bias, was remarkably reduced compared to PE-CVD SiO/sub x/N/sub y/. Also, the degradation of subthreshold characteristics on a-Si TFT (often observed after long-term operation of LCDs at high temperature) was improved. Selective etching technologies of SiN/sub x/ against SiO/sub 2/, which is one of key issues in connection with obtaining high production yield, have been developed.<<ETX>>","PeriodicalId":399708,"journal":{"name":"Conference Record of the 1991 International Display Research Conference","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1991-10-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130769160","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As the United States proceeds into high-definition television and the next generation of computer technologies, there will be a fundamental difference in the pattern of interaction between the two. Computing once borrowed heavily from television and other consumer electronic technologies, and in the future consumer electronics will require more processing power and capabilities. Thus, television and other consumer electronic products will begin to borrow more heavily from computing technology. It is believed that television and home computers will not converge into a single product. Specific systems illustrating such developments are discussed.<<ETX>>","PeriodicalId":399708,"journal":{"name":"Conference Record of the 1991 International Display Research Conference","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1991-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129131317","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
