Strategies used for the education of pupils with SEN are typically based on an individual educational plan (IEP). Based on extant literature, we aimed to understand (1) whether primary school teachers were involved in the preparation of the IEP, (2) the extent to which they were familiar with the adjustments written in the IEP, and (3) the significance of the role played by the IEP in a teacher’s daily work. Eighty-nine primary school teachers from different schools in north-east Slovenia participated in this questionnaire-based research. The results show that fewer than half of the teachers were always involved in the preparation of the IEP for the pupils with SEN they teach. A few reported that they had not taken part in the preparation of pupils’ IEP at all. Furthermore, just over half of participants were familiar with all the adjustments recorded in the IEP. There were also differences in the responses to the research based on the professional title and experience of the teachers. The differences were in favour of teachers with more experience and teachers with more senior professional titles. We also found that most teachers believed that an IEP plays an important role when working with pupils with SEN and writing a regular lesson plan. Our findings represent the starting point for the preparation of education for pupils with SEN and act as a basis for the self-evaluation of a teacher’s pedagogical work.","PeriodicalId":39824,"journal":{"name":"Hrvatska Revija Za Rehabilitacijska Istrazivanja","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69358991","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Daminov","doi":"10.31299/hrri.58.2.7","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.31299/hrri.58.2.7","url":null,"abstract":"In 2013, the WHO reported that 250,000 to 500,000 people worldwide are affected by traumatic spinal cord injury every year (WHO, 2013). In Russia, it is estimated that over 250,000 people suffer from disabilities as a result of spinal cord injury. This number continues to increase due to an increase in injury rate, as well as improvement in survival rate of patients affected by acute and long-term periods of traumatic spinal cord injury (TSCI). This study aimed to justify the safe and effective use of a zero-gravity robotic-assisted trainer for locomotor therapy in complex rehabilitation of patients with TSCI, as well as to compare this therapeutic approach with conventional motor rehabilitation programs that use other robotic mechanotherapy techniques. Neurological and functional disorders were assessed in 30 TSCI patients based on clinical examination and electromyography (EMG) results. All patients were classified into an intervention group and a control group by sequential randomisation. Rehabilitation programs for the intervention and control groups were alike, except for robotic mechanotherapy. Significant positive dynamic changes in motor functions, measured according to the ASIA Impairment Scale (American Spinal Cord Injury Association; Marino et al., 2003) were noted in the intervention group, in which two patients moved up to a higher level. EMG data showed a significant difference between the groups in favour of the intervention group. In addition, there was a significant difference between the two groups in postural function improvement in a seated position. Rehabilitation of patients in the intervention group involved engaging the axial muscles, facilitating an increase in strength, and improving trunk muscle control. Both groups of patients showed a significant decline in spasticity, as well as changes in their functional status. The ability of patients to perform normal daily activities also showed improvement. Our findings show that zero-gravity robotic-assisted locomotor training is a safe and effective procedure in the complex rehabilitation of patients with TSCI. This technique improves motor skills, self-care, and postural function in TSCI patients. Furthermore, we found a significant correlation between neurological and functional changes, which is indicative that this new therapeutic modality focuses on a restorative concept. Further research with a power increment is warranted.","PeriodicalId":39824,"journal":{"name":"Hrvatska Revija Za Rehabilitacijska Istrazivanja","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69358995","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Cilj je ovog istraživanja ispitati odnos između doživljenog nasilja na radnom mjestu i zadovoljstva poslom i životom među ravnateljima osnovnih škola Republike Hrvatske. U istraživanju je sudjelovalo 483 (27,7% muških; 72,3% ženskih) ravnatelja iz svih regija RH. Za prikupljanje podataka uz Upitnik socio-demografskih karakteristika, korištene su Skala uznemiravanja na radnom mjestu, Skala zadovoljstva životom i Upitnik zadovoljstva poslom. Rezultati pokazuju da je čak 55,5% ravnatelja često bilo izloženo barem jednom obliku nasilja na radnom mjestu, dok je njih 40,8% također doživjelo neki oblik nasilja, ali rijetko, a samo 3,7% ih nije iskusilo nijedan oblik nasilja. Rezultati korelacijske analize pokazuju da ravnatelji koji češće doživljavaju nasilje na radnom mjestu prijavljuju niže zadovoljstvo poslom i životom. Provedenom regresijskom analizom utvrđeno je da je doživljeno nasilje na radnom mjestu statistički značajan individualni prediktor zadovoljstva poslom. Ravnatelji koji su češće izloženi nasilju na radnom mjestu prijavljuju i generalno niže zadovoljstvo životom, a u tom je odnosu zadovoljstvo poslom značajan medijator. Zaključno se upozorava na potrebu sprječavanja nasilja nad ravnateljima zbog štetnih posljedica na sve djelatnike u školi i njihove odnose, a to se reflektira i na učenike te renome škole.","PeriodicalId":39824,"journal":{"name":"Hrvatska Revija Za Rehabilitacijska Istrazivanja","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49082454","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These difficulties have also been observed in adults who stutter. The purpose of this research study was to examine the association between emotional intelligence factors and stuttering in school-age children in Kosovo. The outcome of this study will provide a baseline to compare factors related to the emotional intelligence of children who stutter and those who do not. This descriptive cross-sectional study included a sample of 62 participants stratified into the two groups: a group of children who stutter (N = 31) and a control group of children who do not stutter (N = 31). Participants ranged in age from 8-15 years. The instrument used for data collection was a self-report emotional intelligence questionnaire for children: The Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire - Child Short Form (TEIQue-CSF) (Mavroveli & Petrides, 2009). We collected and analysed data on the level of emotional intelligence of children who stutter and those who do not. Our findings show that adaptability as a construct of emotional intelligence is observed at a lower level in children who stutter (M = 21.5) than those who do not (M = 40.9). In addition, we observed lower adaptability in male students (M = 27.9) than females (M = 35.2) in both groups of participants. Furthermore, children who stutter showed lower levels of emotional expression (M = 23.4 vs 39.7) and emotional perception (M = 22.3 vs 42.8) than those who do not stutter. Based on our analysis, we concluded that school-age children who stutter have significantly lower levels of emotional intelligence than their peers who do not stutter.","PeriodicalId":39824,"journal":{"name":"Hrvatska Revija Za Rehabilitacijska Istrazivanja","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69358919","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this study, we investigate the motor abilities of children with CAS by focusing on three distinct motor factors: control during movement, fine motor skills/handwriting, and general coordination. Participants included 25 children with CAS and 20 age-matched typically developing (TD) children between the ages of 5 and 7 years. Motor abilities were evaluated using a parent questionnaire - the Croatian version of The Developmental Coordination Disorder Questionnaire (DCDQ-HR). Compared to age-matched TD children, those with CAS showed significantly poorer overall motor ability based on the DCDQ-HR, as well as on all three motor factors: control during movement, fine motor skills/handwriting, and general coordination. Even though their results were worse than TD children, they were still within the range that indicates normal motor abilities. Among the three motor factors considered, children with CAS exhibited significant problems with fine motor skills/handwriting. Children with CAS may not be categorised as children with motor deficits, but they exhibit poor overall motor abilities, especially fine motor skills, compared to TD children. This study supports the premise that co-occurring language impairment is an important variable to consider when discussing motor abilities in CAS.","PeriodicalId":39824,"journal":{"name":"Hrvatska Revija Za Rehabilitacijska Istrazivanja","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69358926","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This novel tool is the result of research work on diagnosing eating attitudes, the source of which is an individual’s world view. The six-component structure of the scale was verified using confirmatory factor analysis (RMSEA = 0.059; CMIN/DF = 1.629; CFI = 0.929). Internal reliability of sub-scales was tested by calculating Cronbach’s Alpha coefficients: Factor 1 (anorectic attitude) - α = 0.779; Factor 2 (religious attitude) - α = 0.844; Factor 3 (vegetarian attitude) - α = 0.890; Factor 4 (hedonistic attitude) - α = 0.654; Factor 5 (orthorectic attitude) - α = 0.655; Factor 6 (experimental attitude) - α = 0.842. The result is a concise scale made up of six factors built using a total of 16 items. Criterion relevance was established on the basis of correlation with other tools measuring similar structures, including the Three-Factor Eating Questionnaire (Polish adaptation of TFEQ-13), the Eating Behaviour Questionnaire (KZZJ), the Eating Preoccupation Scale (SZJ), and the Diet Self-Efficacy Scale (Polish adaptation of DIET-SE). Satisfactory psychometric properties were obtained based on a study involving 184 adults aged 18-35 years.","PeriodicalId":39824,"journal":{"name":"Hrvatska Revija Za Rehabilitacijska Istrazivanja","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69358913","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Data was collected across six focus groups involving 24 parents whose children had completed treatment for various types of cancer. Through interpretative phenomenological analysis, the following themes emerged: a) feelings of uncertainty and fear, b) staying in the role of the ill child’s parent, c) the need to learn new parenting skills, d) effect on other children in the family, and e) changes in the parents themselves. Participating parents mentioned feelings of constant anxiety, as well as a range of other kinds of fears they faced upon returning home (fear of medical care not being available on the spot, fear of the unknown, and fear of disease recurrence). They recognised their own altered behaviour toward the child who had undergone treatment (they were likely to limit the daily functioning of their child and act as if the child was still sick). The participants were also aware of the need to learn different, more appropriate parenting skills, as well of the sense of guilt they felt for neglecting their other children. They pointed out the changes in their own physical and mental health, as well as the difficulties they faced in social and work environments. These parents reported that they did not feel sufficiently prepared to care for their child upon completion of hospital treatment. In fact, for some, parent-led care was more difficult than the treatment itself. Our results suggest the need to implement family-oriented follow-up as an integral component of childhood cancer treatment in the Balkan countries. This will help parents alleviate anxiety, balance supervision, and help them adapt to their new normal after their child survived cancer treatment.","PeriodicalId":39824,"journal":{"name":"Hrvatska Revija Za Rehabilitacijska Istrazivanja","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69358999","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Qualitative data were collected using two focus group discussions, each with six DHH students and six hearing students, and individual interviews with eleven parents of DHH and hearing students and six Deaf and hearing teachers. The data generated seven themes: positive impacts of sign language (i.e. HKSL), translanguaging, differences in English and Chinese achievement, positive attitudes towards co-enrollment, increase in students’ self-confidence, friendship and equal partnership, and importance and challenges of co-planning. Analysing these themes within the framework of evaluating inclusive education along the parameters of participation, achievement, and value of person as advanced in Anderson, Boyle and Deppeler (2014), we identified six dimensions to characterise the inclusive ecology of the SLCO classroom.","PeriodicalId":39824,"journal":{"name":"Hrvatska Revija Za Rehabilitacijska Istrazivanja","volume":"25 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69359124","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We found that participants mark conditional sentences in DGS by systematically using different non-manual markers on the antecedent and the consequent. In addition, these non-manual markers were frequently used in combination with one or two manual signs. However, the manual markers were omitted in the test sentences, i.e., the input stimuli the participants were asked to reproduce. The results of our experimental study are, on the one hand, consistent with descriptions of manual and non-manual strategies used to mark conditional sentences in different unrelated sign languages. On the other hand, our findings provide new insights on the multi-layered marking of conditional sentences in DGS.","PeriodicalId":39824,"journal":{"name":"Hrvatska Revija Za Rehabilitacijska Istrazivanja","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47582086","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper investigates the expression of these four readings in German Sign Language against the background of the Bodily Mapping Hypothesis. This hypothesis states that there is a systematic mapping between the position of an operator in the syntactic structure and the height of the articulator expressing it: the higher in the structure an operator is located, the higher the body part used for its expression will be. It will be shown that the readings of ‘at least’ encoding CP-functions are expressed using upper face non-manual markings, while the neutral reading is expressed manually without any additional non-manuals—in line with the Bodily Mapping Hypothesis.","PeriodicalId":39824,"journal":{"name":"Hrvatska Revija Za Rehabilitacijska Istrazivanja","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69359009","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
