The proposed automation system aims both to reduce production costs due to the efficiency of water consumption and the elimination of the human factor in certain maintenance and care works as well as the improvement of plant growth factors. Simulation of the system automation consists in the practical execution of a miniature greenhouse system with a scale of 1:10, controlled by a development board equipped with Arduino, temperature, humidity and light intensity measuring elements, modules for interfacing the microcontroller with the elements respectively the sprinkler water pump, the ventilation fan and the motors for opening and closing the ventilation hatch. The automation system can be applied and adapted to an authentic agricultural greenhouse irrespective of its dimensions, but taking into account the required power of the electrical machines.","PeriodicalId":397346,"journal":{"name":"2019 8th International Conference on Modern Power Systems (MPS)","volume":"272 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116261975","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

After a brief overview of the nullor concept and its properties, follows a detailed description regarding the modeling of active devices in the voltage-mode, current-mode, respectively in the mixed mode of operation. This modeling description reflects the two-port and four-terminal network point of view. Simulation of the four nullor-controlled types of sources, as well as modeling of the multiport circuit elements, requires the development of suitable equivalent circuits constructed using bipolar circuit elements and the nullor. Studying the behavior of such a circuit, voltage and current wise, require its association with two graphs: one current graph namely Gi, for the systematic formulation of the 1st Kirchhoff's Theorem, and one voltage graph called $boldsymbol{G}_{v}$, for the systematic formulation of the 2nd Kirchhoff's Theorem. The use of the two graphs in the analog analysis applied to circuits with nullors implies the elaboration of efficient algorithms, implemented in specialized software, capable of generating voltage and current graphs automatically. Considering the nullator an over-determined two-port circuit element (zero voltage, zero current) whereas the norator is an undetermined two-port circuit element (any voltage and any current), this paper presents the way of formulating equations of all kinds, straight from the diagrams of the functional circuits containing nullors. Existing simulation software may be applied to simulate the nullor having an ideal voltage-controlled voltage source, $ec= Ac_c u_{c}$, with an ideal independent current source, $j_{C}=0.0$ A used for gate control and possessing a substantial amplification (transfer) factor $A_{c_C}$. Therefore, all types of equations, which describe functional circuits have a simple formulation, no matter the presence of nullors. In this way, it becomes possible to elaborate efficient algorithms applicable for the automatic formulation of Kirchhoff's equations, loop equations, modified nodal equations and state equations for circuits with nullors as well. The example presented here pleaded for the validity of the nullor modeling.","PeriodicalId":397346,"journal":{"name":"2019 8th International Conference on Modern Power Systems (MPS)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124487974","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This achievement has been driven by major factors such as the successive apparition of high reliability gate-controlled power devices or improving cost-effectiveness of electronic commutation. In spite of all these achievements faults remains unavoidable in power electronic converters and their fault-tolerance represents a major design issue for researchers and developers. This paper presents a specially designed power converter topology that uses hardware redundancy strategy in order to achieve its high safety and fault-free operation. For this purpose an original mathematical model has been developed that is full suitable to model a wide range of faulty states in power converter modules. The proposed model has been validated through detailed computer simulations. The designed hardware redundant power converter architecture embeds two stand alone inverter modules interconnected into a parallel operation and switching topology. During the laboratory experiments this configuration has proved a high degree of reliability and fault-free operation. In order to evidence the complex switching events and occurred transient states a set of real-time waveform plots have been captured. Thorough analyses confirm that the proposed redundant converter topology is well suited for utilization in a wide range of applications that require high safety and reliable operation. Such solutions are specially recommended in critical industrial application where damages or material losses are impermissible at all.","PeriodicalId":397346,"journal":{"name":"2019 8th International Conference on Modern Power Systems (MPS)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132048778","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Photovoltaic cells must operate in open space in order to capture solar radiation with the disadvantage of being continuously exposed to meteorological phenomena. The effects of some of these phenomena can lead to degradation of photovoltaic panel efficiency or operation. In this paper we propose a method of monitoring photovoltaic panels for the identification of possible degradation of operation based on machine learning (ML) techniques. The development of the model and its validation is based on data collected both from the panels' photovoltaic control system and weather data collected from Internet.","PeriodicalId":397346,"journal":{"name":"2019 8th International Conference on Modern Power Systems (MPS)","volume":"199 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131812335","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The high number of geometry details contained by these devices, especially at the level of the metallization system, rise difficulties in the Finite Element Method (FEM) analyze, thus some simplifications are needed. In this paper a simple method of geometry details reduction is proposed, in order to eliminate some geometrical details such as vias between two different metal layers. While the geometry details are simplified, the thermo-mechanical behavior is assessed on a simple Double-Diffused MOS (DMOS) substructure with an open source software (Code_Aster) based on FEM. In order to understand the influence of vias at the metallization level, temperature and strain distributions are compared for three different cases with vias, no-vias and equivalent materials properties block respectively. The no vias model approach capture with less computational effort and good accuracy the thermal induced metal deformation.","PeriodicalId":397346,"journal":{"name":"2019 8th International Conference on Modern Power Systems (MPS)","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116428141","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
