One of the most commonly renewable energy used to connect to the grid are photovoltaic systems. This paper addresses specific problems regarding the design and simulation of EMI filters. Throughout this paper we have presented a method of simulating harmonics waveforms using CIGUI software.","PeriodicalId":397346,"journal":{"name":"2019 8th International Conference on Modern Power Systems (MPS)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124804047","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The European Network Codes set harmonised rules for grid connection for power generating modules “in order to provide a clear legal framework for grid connections, facilitate Union-wide trade in electricity, ensure system security, facilitate the integration of renewable electricity sources, increase competition and allow more efficient use of the network and resources, for the benefit of consumers” (COMMISSION REGULATION (EU) 2016/631 of 14 April 2016 establishing a network code on requirements for grid connection of generators). Elaboration of grid codes is a great challenge for TSOs, generators and manufacturers. As the grid is constantly evolving and new technologies are incorporated to it, grid codes will have to evolve as well. Implications of any grid code parameter should be carefully studied together with cost-benefit assessment in case performance requirements are too stringent for current equipment technologies. In this paper we highlight the specific parameters that must be fulfilled by power plants in the process of connection and during operation life in the Romanian National Power System.","PeriodicalId":397346,"journal":{"name":"2019 8th International Conference on Modern Power Systems (MPS)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128365217","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a result, energy is saved, pollution and greenhouse gas emissions are reduced, and many natural resources are salvaged by extracting fewer raw materials. The paper focuses on rapid sorting method developed for separating the dismembered components of a personal computers motherboard. After a simultaneous disassembly process of the board, some of the components like plastics, silicon chips, surface-mount devices and magnetic components need to be intelligently sorted, therefore economically separated. In the sorting process a conveyor belt was used to transport the components one by one. A contour vision sensor was used to acquire and process the images, consequently to recognize the components. The visual sensor binary code output is connected to a Mitsubishi FX3G programmable logic controller. Finally, electro pneumatic valves with directional air flow control are used to position the objects from the conveyor belt into separate bins.","PeriodicalId":397346,"journal":{"name":"2019 8th International Conference on Modern Power Systems (MPS)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130140218","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to this effect in the circuit breaker, an electrical arc appears which can lead to heating of the respective material and the appearance of network harmonics, aging of materials and influence on the device's functionality. A low cost temperature measurement system in automated circuit breakers has been devised. Considering these aspects, an efficient approach for flattening the electricity consumption profile based on the production scheduling at SMEs was proposed. The optimal solutions were obtained using combinational optimization. The approach was tested at an industrial consumer (a small enterprise in the automobile repair activity domain). The obtained results led at a decrease of peak values of the electricity consumption with 15.87%.","PeriodicalId":397346,"journal":{"name":"2019 8th International Conference on Modern Power Systems (MPS)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125476966","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The coupling mechanism of electricity markets is based on increasing social welfare, being defined as the sum of the producer's surplus, the consumer's surplus and the revenues from the congestion. Thus, the market with the lower price exports electricity to the market with the higher price. The paper presents several numerical examples for understanding the coupling mechanism and the effects and particularities of the coupled functioning of the electricity markets. Also, the impact of increasing the share of renewable energy sources and support schemes on the negative prices recorded in the coupled electricity markets is analysed.","PeriodicalId":397346,"journal":{"name":"2019 8th International Conference on Modern Power Systems (MPS)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125179151","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
