However, most of the theorem proving based formal verification tools do not accept commonly used HDLs, like VHDL or Verilog, and require their users to manually conduct the verification, which is a step that involves rigorous mathematical analysis. It is due to these limitations that theorem proving based verification tools are not commonly used in the industry despite their ultimate accuracy guarantee. As a first step to overcome these limitations, we present an automatic verification tool, V-HOLT Verifier, for the verification of combinational circuits described in VHDL format. Besides the VHDL description, the user of the tool provides the property that needs to be verified using a user friendly JAVA based interface. The verification of the property is done using the HOL4 theorem prover, which is a widely used theorem proving tool based on higher-order logic. The translation to HOL4 compatible code and the generation of HOL4 verification script is automatically done and thus the user is not involved with these details, which makes V-HOLT Verifier quite user friendly. The final outcome is in the form of ‘Goal Proved’, if the property is verified, or an ‘Error Trace’ in case the failure. It is designed for field agents to communicate secret messages without having electricity or sophisticated electronics equipment. Its main advantage is that the natural randomness of a shuffled deck of cards contributes to its strength and security. However, the main disadvantage of solitaire is that its output keystream is not truly random, its bias i.e. the probability of getting two keystream characters twice in a row is about 1/22.5 instead of 1/26 as identified by Mirdek. This is due to the fact that Solitaire is a non-reversible cipher and it exhibits bias during key generation. To overcome this weakness, we have proposed a revised Solitaire algorithm to improve the randomness in the output keystream and also to reduce the element of biasness while the cipher remains non-reversible. We have also introduced a new and easy mechanism to generate initial deck setting (key) from a passphrase. It has gained popularity with the advancements in technology. Therefore, large number of researches has been done in recent years to achieve the human-like accuracy in this field. Arabic speech was neglected in past years due to inherent difficulty and complexity in it. In recent years, many researchers worked on it and most of them focused on Qur'anic database as its being the standard of formal Arabic. Need is felt for an automatic Qur'an recognizer which could help Muslims to memorise Qur'an without human involvement. This paper focuses on this issue and identifies the major differences between simple Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) system and a language tutor using ASR technology with respect to Qur'an memorisation. Static Synchronous Series Compensator (SSSC) is a well-known FACTS controller used for this purpose. This paper presents a novel adaptive control scheme to damp inter-area oscillations in a multi-machine power system using SSSC. The proposed control paradigm utilizes the local control property of B-spline membership function by hybridizing it with wavelet NNs in the structure of NeuroFuzzy system to design the external control for SSSC. The system parameters are tuned online based on the adaptive NeuroFuzzy rules extracted from rotor speed error and its derivative. The detailed mathematical description of online tuning the control parameters is given. The control scheme utilizes the model free direct control structure which reduces the computational complexity, latency and memory requirements making the control system a good candidate for real time implementation. The robustness of the proposed control system is checked against various faults and operating conditions on the basis of nonlinear time domain simulations. But in Global Software Development (GSD) this shared understanding becomes harder to achieve because of the challenges inherited in GSD; these challenges include cultural diversity, inadequate communication, Time Zone difference and improper knowledge management. By its very nature, software development consists of many knowledge management practices. One of the important needs is to study the impact of these practices on shared understanding of requirements in GSD. During three months controlled experiment in an academic setting with two groups of geographically distributed students; we studied the impact of “clear organizational structure with communicating responsibilities” a practice of Knowledge Management on shared understanding of requirements. We observed the understanding patterns of both teams by conducting multiple concept mapping exercises. This paper presents comparison of results obtained from concept mapping exercises of both development teams. This paper examines the possibility of incorporating an autonomous system in road vehicles that can safely steer the vehicle to the highway shoulder in the event of driver incapacitation. As a first step towards this development, we have developed a virtual test bed to rigorously test and simulate a variety of road conditions for such an autonomous system without risking injury or accident during actual tests. A simulated highway driving environment (car racing game) is chosen for implementation. A high performance vision system captures the life-like gaming scenes projected on a high resolution LCD screen. The feedback loop is closed using three modules: the interfacing unit, the image processer and a control unit. The image processor estimates the car state using standard computer vision algorithms. The computed car orientation and speed data is passed on from the image processer to the control unit where steering, acceleration and braking decisions are made using state of the art algorithms such as the Stanley method. Appropriate control signals are transferred to the interfacing unit which is connected to a toy steering wheel and pedal set. We demonstrate basic control maneuvers such as lane changing and steering of the car in controlled experiments with little or no traffic. This paper aims at utilizing the merits of bi-static radars that is used in combination with a mono-static radar. The proposed scheme counters the effects of range gate pull off (RGPO) and velocity gate pull off (VGPO) which are the two prime deception methods against modern radar systems. These methods are becoming ever increasing threats to ground based radars in modern era due to the advancements in digital radio frequency memory (DRFM). This allows unlicensed users to transmit data over licensed band not used by the primary user and increases spectral efficiency by utilizing the vacant frequency slots. The lack of central management restricts the ad hoc cognitive users to efficiently access the unlicensed channels. In this paper, we discuss methods for spectrum access to unlicensed users for the benefit of the entire network. We incorporate game theoretic techniques to overcome the short-coming of underutilized spectrum and maximize the payoffs of licensed/cognitive users. The spectrum allocation problem in cognitive radios is modeled as a potential game and we observe the behavior of ad hoc cognitive radio networks.
