For optimized working of network many routing algorithms have been proposed, mainly focusing energy efficiency, network life-time, clustering processes. Considering homogeneity of network, we proposed Energy Efficient Sleep Awake Aware (EESAA) intelligent routing protocol for WSNs. In our proposed technique we evaluate and enhance certain issues like network stability, network lifetime and cluster head selection process. Utilizing the concept of characteristical pairing among sensor nodes energy utilization is optimized. Simulation results show that our proposed protocolnificantly improved the network parameters and can be a useful approach for WSNs.","PeriodicalId":396084,"journal":{"name":"2012 15th International Multitopic Conference (INMIC)","volume":"88 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124418713","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They do so by applying a set of security policy rules on HTTP traffic generated and received by web applications. These policies Rules are in-fact the heart of WAFs which are unable to provide strong protection on their own without well-written policy rules. Unfortunately due to complexity of web application and increased sophistication of application level attacks the rule configuration and management for WAFs is an error prone and tedious task. This paper is an effort to explore the effectiveness of an Ontology based framework for modeling, configuring, querying and reasoning overWAF Firewall configurations.We have tested our framework on a leading open source web application firewalls known as ModSecurity. Our preliminary results show that our framework significantly improves configuration errors in the WAF ruleset that arise because of duplication and policy conflicts.","PeriodicalId":396084,"journal":{"name":"2012 15th International Multitopic Conference (INMIC)","volume":"84 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121242439","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Medical image watermarking requires extreme care when embedding additional data, given their importance to clinical diagnosis, treatment, and research. In this paper, a novel image watermarking for medical images is presented which is robust to geometric attacks like rotation, scaling, translation or combination of these. The watermark is embedded in the feature space of the image, as embedding the watermark in feature space makes it invariant against geometric attacks (translation, scaling, rotation and combination of these) and then Arnold transform which is considered as a chaotic scrambling is applied on the watermarked image to make the watermark more secure. Moreover, the proposed watermarking scheme is blind as the watermark is extracted without knowing the original image at receiver end. Experiment results demonstrate that watermark is robust against geometric attacks.","PeriodicalId":396084,"journal":{"name":"2012 15th International Multitopic Conference (INMIC)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127174476","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Cooperative communication is a promising technique to achieve this goal by exploiting spatial diversity. We consider an Amplify-and-Forward based cognitive relay network comprising one source-destination pair and multiple relays in underlay spectrum sharing environment and solve the problem of relay selection and power allocation to the selected relays. In this scenario, we formulate an optimization problem aiming to maximize the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) at the secondary destination under interference power constraint towards the PU as well as individual relay's transmit power constraint. Our relay selection scheme allows more than one relay to cooperate in contrast to single relay selection methods which compromise on spatial diversity. We solve our optimization problem using Artificial Bee Colony (ABC). The proposed algorithm has low computational complexity and its effectiveness is proved through simulation results.","PeriodicalId":396084,"journal":{"name":"2012 15th International Multitopic Conference (INMIC)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129879811","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our application not only recognizes the voice commands but also converts continuous speech into Urdu Fonts. Our work is based on converting analog signal to digital signals, removing silence and noise through filters, extracting 39 Mel Frequency Cepstral Coefficients(MFCCs) from the speech signal, applying k-mean algorithm and using them as an input to multi-layer perceptron neural networks. Urdu text stores in “Jameel Noori Nastaleeq” fonts. Isolated words gain accuracy of 95.6% in speaker dependent mode while 30–40% in speaker independent mode. Continuous speech also shows a good accuracy of 96.5% in speaker dependent mode and 30–40% for speaker independent mode. Current work is being extended to improve accuracy for speaker independent system by improving dataset and feature set.","PeriodicalId":396084,"journal":{"name":"2012 15th International Multitopic Conference (INMIC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129333432","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The averaged values of various metrics in passively collected slice-centric data has been considered for clustering purposes. Various groups of slices, depicting similar resource usage patterns have been identified in original data set. These clusters have been represented in reduced dimensional space formed by first two principal components of original data set. In order to capture variations in pattern of resource usage by various slices at a PlanetLab node, clustering of standard deviations of various metrics have also been carried out. It has been found that K-medoid based clustering can effectively split the original data space into various sub-spaces of different resource usage behaviour of slices. Thus, it can lead to better resource management and control in publicly available testbeds.","PeriodicalId":396084,"journal":{"name":"2012 15th International Multitopic Conference (INMIC)","volume":"216 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121940054","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The conventional passive suspension and semi-active suspension systems do not provide passenger comfort and vehicle handling against the road disturbances. To tackle this problem, an adaptive wavelets neuro-fuzzy (AWNF) based control strategy is used for active suspension control. The AWNF control has the robustness abilities and good generalization properties. The performance of the active suspension system is determined by the displacement and acceleration of the vehicle. To validate the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme, the full car model is simulated in MATLAB/Simulink and subjected to a varying road profile. The performance of the AWNF based active suspension system is compared with passive and semi-active suspension system.","PeriodicalId":396084,"journal":{"name":"2012 15th International Multitopic Conference (INMIC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130181544","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Panoramic image provides wide view and covers the various aspect of scene under consideration. Keypoints from captured images have been extracted using Scale Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT) and Speeded-Up Robust Features (SURF). These input images vary in factors like illumination, viewpoint, rotation, scale, blurriness and noise (i.e. Gaussian and salt and pepper). Image registration geometrically aligns the images taken at different times which vary in their illumination. The heterogeneity in image illumination effects the feature extraction and ruins entire stitching process by leaving a visible seam at the junction of degraded images. This anomaly is overcome in preprocessing by making the intensity levels consistent in HSI color domain and also with the histogram equalization. Another widely practiced way for seam removal is to blend both images at the time of image stitching. Keypoints given by feature extraction method contain mismatches or outliers which are further removed from data using Random Sample Consensus (RANSAC). Homographic matrix has been estimated and used to implement affine and projective transformation model. Detailed discussion on the results is given at the end by comparing the techniques side by side. Potential applications for panoramas are medical imaging, high resolution photography and painting reproduction, real estate virtual tours, cinema etc.","PeriodicalId":396084,"journal":{"name":"2012 15th International Multitopic Conference (INMIC)","volume":"249 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131473899","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to access resources user must be authenticated seamlessly and authorized to perform access request. Existing centralized solution such as Single Sign On suffers with single point of failure. In our research, we propose a distributed solution by making access control models, existing in different organizations, interoperable. We show how decentralized and distributed yet federated organizations with heterogeneous access control models can share valuable resources/services in secure, reliable and efficient manner with no or minimal changes to their existing infrastructure. Our solution converts the existing policies of collaborating organization into ABAC model by a model transformation utility. Any cross organization transactions are handled by our plug-in based system without requiring any changes in the current authentication and authorization workflow of both collaborating parties.","PeriodicalId":396084,"journal":{"name":"2012 15th International Multitopic Conference (INMIC)","volume":"86 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131985336","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
