Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM), one of the shunt FACTS controllers, is a well-known controller used for this purpose, however, this article investigates its behavior for damping power system oscillations by application of a novel direct adaptive NeuroFuzzy Type2 (ANFT2) based nonlinear control scheme, for damping low frequency inter-area oscillations, using STATCOM. The proposed control scheme exploits the excellent estimation property of Type2 membership functions for modeling uncertainties in the system. The parameters of the proposed control scheme are updated online without using any offline training data which in turn minimizes the memory requirements, computational complexity and latency maintaining the performance of the system. The performance of the proposed control system is tested for various faults and operating conditions on multi-machine test system using nonlinear time domain simulations. Finally, the comparative analysis of ANT2 with Adaptive NeuroFuzzy Type-1 (ANFT1) control and without control is presented to validate the efficiency of proposed control system. The simulation results reveal that the proposed control scheme significantly improves the damping performance in transient and steady-state regions.","PeriodicalId":396084,"journal":{"name":"2012 15th International Multitopic Conference (INMIC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130402265","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

During the experimental analysis, two scenarios are considered. In Scenario-I, a pair of MICAz nodes (one transmitting and one receiving node) are placed on the ground and the RSSI is measured in presence of the ground effect. In Scenario-II, only the transmitting node is placed above the ground; however, the receiving node is placed on the ground. The RSSI is measured by changing the antenna orientation at different angles and distances between them. The results show that the ground effect, antenna orientation and distance between the sensor nodes drastically affect the RSSI.","PeriodicalId":396084,"journal":{"name":"2012 15th International Multitopic Conference (INMIC)","volume":"214 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121546340","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Video sensors are actively used in WSNs to increase their event description power. Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks (WMSNs) have been deployed in numerous applications e.g. environmental monitoring, advanced health care delivery, industrial process control and disaster relief operations. WMSNs have limited transmission capacity and delivery of multimedia content using single path routing introduces large delays. This has motivated the research community to develop multi-path routing schemes that efficiently transmit multimedia content while maintaining delay constraints. Most of these approaches require each sensor nodes to have information of their geographic co-ordinates, along with co-ordinates of their neighbors and destination. In this paper we present a novel disjoint multi-path routing scheme that does not require any information of geographical coordinates. This scheme explores energy efficient, minimum hop delay disjointed paths between video sensor and base-station to support multiple routes. Performance evaluation of the our proposed scheme is performed in various network environments. It is observed that our scheme surpasses simple disjoint multi-path schemes and results in considerable energy saving in all network deployment models under consideration.","PeriodicalId":396084,"journal":{"name":"2012 15th International Multitopic Conference (INMIC)","volume":"44 6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125288719","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, current approaches and tools required a self made input by following specific grammatical patterns to expose to the approach what the concern is. Moreover, requirements are mostly communicated between the stakeholders in form of features. However, the early aspect mining from the feature introduced the labor intensive task of creating feature model that is unable to support cross-cutting relations. There seems to be a tradeoff between the requirement abstraction and automaticity for aspect discovery at early analysis phase. In this paper, we present an enhanced form of aspect-oriented feature analysis (AOFA), which discovers meaningful concerns and feature interactions, then associates them to feature modules without disbursing automaticity. It takes publically available unstructured features as input then creates a knowledge base of domain by natural language processing and finally models each feature's dependencies by utilizing this domain knowledge and variability patterns. We evaluate our approach against early aspect miner tool and statistical method and found our approach to be optimal.","PeriodicalId":396084,"journal":{"name":"2012 15th International Multitopic Conference (INMIC)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116810650","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These online news websites are very useful for the people who have internet access and they can easily read and search their required news through home/office computer or cell phone without wasting their time. To search a particular news, many searching algorithms and News Fetching Systems (NFS) are available which return the results in less than a second. But how much correct information they are giving from a huge data is still a critical area, where we need some efficient algorithms to give us more optimized results. We propose a Multiple Leaf Nodes based Parse Trees for NFS where all the leaf nodes are commonly used alternative words for a specific word. We evaluate our results for a randomly selected webpage and compare with the simple parse tree system. Analysis shows that our proposed algorithm can enhance the performance of any NFS.","PeriodicalId":396084,"journal":{"name":"2012 15th International Multitopic Conference (INMIC)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123429733","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Such erratic mobility makes the network topology highly dynamic and results in larger link breakages and link establishments between the nodes. Routing protocols must dynamically recalculate the routing paths in order to cater such link changes. Each mobility model influences network performance in a different way and have a special influence on the performance of routing protocols. Many academic papers have evaluated the influence of mobility models of MANeTs on network performance assuming similar routing and network conditions. In this paper, we do not cater the influence of mobility models in a standalone position rather we have varied mobility and analyzed the effect of several entity and group mobility patterns under proactive, reactive and hybrid routing schemes based on several performance metrics. We have analyzed that proactive schemes and group mobility models outclass their counter parts.","PeriodicalId":396084,"journal":{"name":"2012 15th International Multitopic Conference (INMIC)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128647417","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, due to double rotation it takes almost double time as compared to single rotation; ultimately increasing the demand for memory and processor.
