The inclusion criteria comprised clinical trials, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and review articles on physical treatments for wounds in oncology patients. The selection process involved pre-selection, title and abstract review, and full-text review to ensure compliance with the inclusion criteria. Data were analyzed to identify mechanisms of action, therapeutic efficacy, and potential risks associated with these therapies in oncology patients. Ozone therapy showed potential in reducing bacterial load and tumor hypoxia, enhancing chemotherapy efficacy. Topical oxygen therapy was effective for chronic wounds, with careful application near tumor sites. Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy demonstrated promising anticancer effects, inducing apoptosis in cancer cells. Red light therapy, while beneficial for managing side effects of cancer treatments, was contraindicated in areas with active tumors due to the risk of stimulating cancer cell proliferation.

Conclusion: Conclusions: Physical therapies offer benefits in wound management but require careful consideration in oncology patients. A disease that is a little bit intangible, with no pill that can directly treat it. Nevertheless, deterioration of kidney function may have a tremendous impact on patients' life. Even when it does not lead to renal replacement therapy. That is why we should be interested in recognising it and giving our patients as much as we can to neutralise its consequences. Traditionally viewed as passive entities involved in nutrition, support, and insulation, recent insights reveal their crucial role in brain function and plasticity. They serve as key regulators of synaptic activity, influencing information transmission between neurons and impacting processes like learning. Glial cells are vital for maintaining neuronal network integrity and functionality; disruptions in their function can lead to neuronal dysfunction and death. Our review aims to underscore the embryological importance of glial cells in nervous system function. Systematic searches of major electronic medical databases were conducted, including PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, and Google Scholar, up to February 15, 2024. So far reported cases have been presented as apical ballooning or inverted (reverse) TTS forms but not as a midventricular variant. The authors described a case of a 53-year-old female admitted to Intensive Care Unit after motor vehicle accident with BCT and airbag deployment during car roll over. For some time after the accident, she was trapped in a car with her head bent to the chest. After being pulled out from the car, she had impaired consciousness and therefore was intubated by the rescue team. Trauma computed tomography scan did not reveal any injuries. However, ECG showed ST-segment depression in II, III, aVF, V4-6, and discrete ST-segment elevation in aVR. Troponin I and NTpro-BNP increased to 2062 ng/l and 6413 pg/ml, respectively. Echocardiography revealed mild midventricular dysfunction of the left ventricle with ejection fraction (EF) and global longitudinal strain (GLS) reduced to 45% and -17.6%, respectively. On day two, the patient's general condition improved and stabilized, so she was extubated. Normalization of ECG, EF and GLS (but not regional LS) was observed on day three. She was discharged home on day fi ve. Post-hospital examinations documented that segmental longitudinal strain remained abnormal for up to 4 weeks. The authors conclude that fast ECG and echocardiographic evolution may result in underestimation of the posttraumatic TTS diagnosis, especially if it takes atypical form and its course is mild. Longitudinal strain evaluation can be helpful in cardiac monitoring of trauma patients.
","PeriodicalId":39518,"journal":{"name":"Polski Merkuriusz Lekarski","volume":"52 3","pages":"368-372"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141617333","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
