Populasi dari penelitian ini sebanyak 1.610 Mahasiswa sedangkan sampel yang ada dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 95 Mahasiswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data observasi, kuesioner, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini sebagai berikut (a) Kebutuhan Informasi mutakhir (Current Need Aproach) sebanyak 45 orang membutuhkan koleksi dari sisi keilmuan (b) Kebutuhan informasi rutin (Everyday Need Approach) sebanyak 52 responden membutuhkan bahan informasi didalam mencari koleksi seperti hasil penelitian dosen (jurnal) dan penelitian mahasiwa (skripsi). (c) Kebutuhan informasi Mendalam (Exhaustic Need Approach) yang paling dibutuhkan mahasiswa dalam bentuk karya cetak : (buku, majalah, laporan dan lain lain) berjumlah 65 responden. Sriwijaya State Polytechnic Library. The purpose of this study was to determine the use of a classification system and an effective shelving of library materials in meeting the needs of information retrieval at UPT. Sriwijaya State Polytechnic Library and how effective the use of alphabetical shelving is to facilitate the information retrieval system. The research method in this article is a type of qualitative descriptive research. Qualitative descriptive research is research that aims to describe a situation or event in the way it is. The result of the analysis in this article is the determination of the classification number based on the subject and the predetermined chart. If you can analyze the subject correctly and can follow the instructions on the classification chart, you are expected to get the right subject and get the right notation. So that the placement of library materials on the shelves in the correct position and the information retrieval system along with the process of searching or searching for information is easy to do quickly and precisely. Shelving process carried out at UPT. The Sriwijaya State Polytechnic Library for general works refers to the classification number on a regular basis and is matched with the classification number provided on each bookshelf. To overcome these problems, SMA Negeri 7 Banjarmasin implement School Literacy Movement has been running from 2016 to the present. This is field research using a qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection techniques in this study used the methods of observation, interview, and documentation. The subjects in this study were the headmaster, Indonesian Subject teacher, homeroom teachers, and the librarian of SMA Negeri 7 Banjarmasin. The object of this research is the implementation of the School Literacy Movement to foster reading interest at SMA Negeri 7 Banjarmasin as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors for the implementation of the School Literacy Movement to foster reading interest in SMA Negeri 7 Banjarmasin. The data analysis process includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions.The results of this study are as follows: 1. Implementation of School Literacy Movement at SMA Negeri 7 Banjarmasin is realized by implementing a socialization program for implementation of School Literacy Movement, reading literacy 15 minutes before starting the classes, library utilization, reading corner, literacy competition, writing Scientific Papers, as well as socialization and assistance to other schools. The implementation of the School Literacy Movement at SMA Negeri 7 Banjarmasin has been carried out all stages, but at the stage of development and learning does not hold follow-up literacy activities consistently and sustainably, so that the implementation is still in the habituation/interest growth stage. 2. Supporting factors: Adequate Human Resources, complete facilities and infrastructure, and funds. This study uses a descriptive type of research with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used are through observation, interviews, and documentation. Sources of data used are primary data and secondary data. Data processing and analysis techniques are data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The results showed that the activities followed by librarians in adapting to advances in information technology at the Uthman Bin Affan library at the Muslim University of Indonesia were participating in seminars, workshops, conferences, and technical guidance related to the adaptation of librarians in the face of advances in information technology. The library provides various kinds of information that can help people who do not have a job base by providing information about the job market and providing training or practice for someone to be able to become an entrepreneur. The author uses qualitative research with library research methods. In collecting data, the author makes observations, documentation and direct interviews. From the recap in January-April, it shows that there has been an increase in student interest in visiting the library, this is shown by the number that continues to increase every month. From this it can be concluded that library activities have a very effective role in attracting student visits. Therefore, it is proper for us librarians to present activities that increase knowledge and knowledge in the university environment.
