The paper describes the effects used to animate many of the interactions in a structured graphical editor. The editor is used as a tool in a visual parallel programming environment and provides a new large application to test the effectiveness of the concept of animated direct manipulation. The associative representation links heterogeneous information without defining the semantics strictly. We leave the interpretation of the semantics to human tacit knowledge. We have developed a system called CoMeMo-Community which gathers community members' information automatically and helps the members with sharing it. Our system has a two layer structure that consists of the personal information-space called \"Personal Knowledge Layer\" and the common information-space called \"Common knowledge Layer\". In the system, agents that are created by users as the users' alter ego at the Personal Knowledge Layer interact with other agents at the Common Knowledge Layer in place of the users. We have evaluated the system with preliminary experiments. There is thus a need to have a systematic way of searching through the trademark records for uniqueness and simplifying the task of trademark registration. There are many ways in which the search for similar trademarks can be implemented. The use of reference colour table, interactive segmentation and colour distance are some of the methods that have been tested. A system that considers the composite effects of all features of a trademark, instead of depending on information provided by one particular feature, is presented in this paper. This system uses all the features of a trademark, such as colour, number of elements, and number of colour \"lakes\", to form a kind of point system. Points are given for similarities between the trademark-under-test and those in the database. Trademarks in the database with the least points will be considered as closely matching the trademark-under-test and will be displayed on screen for final consideration.","PeriodicalId":394492,"journal":{"name":"1998 Second International Conference. For sensitivity tuning of the cursor movement and coordinate transformation, the neurofuzzy GMDH (group method of data handling) is employed, whose building blocks are represented by radial basis functions. A heuristic model selection criterion called \"distorter\" is employed to determine the optimum number of layers in neurofuzzy GMDH. The click motion is replaced with opening of the mouth. We present binary coded genetic algorithms in which more than two parents are involved in the recombination operation. We propose two types of multi-parent recombination operators, the multi-cut (MX) and seed crossover (SX). Each of these operators is a natural generalization of two parents recombination operator. These operators are evaluated on the De Jong standard test functions. Fuzzy first order logic is then formally defined before truth profiles are introduced to simultaneously accommodate ontological and epistemic uncertainty. The algorithm is based on structural techniques and fuzzy logic. Local features such as lines, curves, diacritic points are extracted from the geometry and topology of characters. Fuzzy linguistic variables are used to model the features and provide a suitable mean to vaguely describe the many styles and variations in the writing system. The combination of local features provide a natural way to describe characters in a compact style. Fuzzy if-then rules are used for classification. In this paper, we propose a novel fuzzy filter for removing mixed noise (i.e., Gaussian noise and impulse noise are mixed). In order to remove mixed noise efficiently, we set fuzzy rules by using multiple difference values between arbitrary two pixels in a filter window.
