This article describes how the principles of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) can be employed to develop a flexible network architecture. The prototype of the concept has been developed and demonstrated in the EuroView 2012 workshop. We showed that the SOA paradigm can be applied to networks by utilizing the concepts of self-contained building blocks, dynamic protocol graphs (PGs) and functional composition (FC) methods. We demonstrated that both short-term flexibility (i.e., networks are adapted based on application requirements) and long-term flexibility (i.e., networks can be evolved) can be achieved by using the architecture.","PeriodicalId":394466,"journal":{"name":"J. It includes the relevant interpretation of the TRAI recommendations, current practices of estimating Carbon emission and the associated issues. It brings out the techno-managerial perspective to estimate carbon emission in Indian Telecom network, description of with the currently adopted methods and their implications. It also suggests how the entire telecom sector may be geared up to identify all potential areas for energy efficiency optimization in every part of the telecom network such that all parts of the telecom networks are addressed to achieve significant reduction in Carbon Emission. Public mobile services require spectrum below 3 GHz for providing cost effective services. The existing method has created artificial shortage of spectrum especially below 3 GHz. Spectrum trading is a new concept in which service providers are permitted to purchase spectrum from the market to fulfil their requirements. Spectrum trading has not yet been permitted in India. This paper provides an overview of possibilities of spectrum trading in India and concludes that necessary ingredients are present in India for spectrum trading and it could provide a boost to the Indian telecom sector.
