In this paper, we first demonstrate that SIP flooding attacks on IMS can result in denial of service to the legitimate users. Afterwards, we report our comparative study of three well-known anomaly detection algorithms, adaptive threshold, cumulative sum, and Hellinger distance for detection of flood attacks in IMS. This promotes usage of the service and the development of new services by meshing up services from multiple service and content providers. In a competitive market scenario, there are two approaches that can be adopted in providing a service mesh. The first one would involve a master telecom service provider co-coordinating the interaction with other content providers for offering a service to the subscriber of the master telecom service provider. The second approach which is becoming much popular with the movement to open-networks, involves non-telecom using open service interfaces offered by communication service providers and content developers in creating new service offerings. This paper details the two approaches for developing service mesh and also outlines a model based service creation environment for creation of service mesh that can be used in conjunction with both the approaches for service creation discussed in the paper. A VC provides scope for mobile peer-to-peer (P2P) service sharing among end users and allows them control of sharing. The paper describes a number of services that enable forming and management of virtual communities and presents several service-oriented system architecture alternatives focusing on distribution of service access control and service discovery control between end users and operators as the owners of the IMS home-networks. Presented architecture alternatives are IMS compatible since they only introduce 5 additional services into the existing IMS architecture. A key service is an orchestrator that exposes new services composed of other services. This ldquowisdom of the crowdrdquo type of activity resulted in a large number of applications being introduced in short time frames utilizing the telecom network as a ldquodumb piperdquo. However, IMS may open up the business opportunities for the cellular operators where they can take advantage of the openness of APIs offered by Web 2.0 dot-coms and still offer the flexible call control features of IMS. Thus, convergence of Web 2.0, mashups and IMS call control features have suddenly become a viable business model that will benefit the end users, cellular operators and application service providers at the same time. Rapid deployment of IMS can certainly be enhanced by successful blending of mashups and built-in features of IMS such as security, authentication, and quality of service. However, there is a lack of existing use case scenarios and experimental validation of supporting various web 2.0 applications over IMS. In this paper, we provide such a framework that helps to blend these two and highlight the lessons learned from the prototyping effort. We believe this framework and analysis of the results obtained from this experiment will be illuminating to cellular operators who plan to deploy IMS infrastructure and offer mash-up type services as well. This paper proposes and describes a new SIP membership event package, which deals with dynamic groups of event-generating entities. We present the event package concepts and show its usefulness in several application examples. The package allows tracking changes in membership in groups. Groups can represent entities contained within a physical space, such as a room or vehicle, or a logical group of entities, such as a call center team. Each member of a group can support a different set of event packages. The IMS core network enables a variety of IMS-compliant communications services to interoperate while being accessed through different kinds of access networks, preferably broadband. As both consumer and corporate users are by now used to access services, even communications services through the Web and Web-based communities and social networks, it is key for success of IMS-based services to be provided with efficient Web access, so users can benefit from those new services by using Web-based applications and user interfaces, not only IMS user equipments and SIP protocol. HP CMS has developed the mobile personal community broadcasting (MPCB) service, an IMS / Web 2.0 Live Group Video Share application that is an example of IMS video solution with strong Web 2.0 integration. The efficient integration of IMS and SOA architectures will be essential to achieve the desired goals. Both parlay-X standard WSDL should be supported as well as innovative Web 2.0 web services SDK. An understanding of such bounds would greatly enhance the ability of service providers to offer multimedia based applications over cellular networks. For simplicity, we consider only two types of multimedia signals, with single demand for each type at each node in a 2-band buffering environment, where interference does not extend beyond two cells. Our approach considers the feasibility of assignment at each node, based on all previously assigned channels to its neighbors. Currently both parties are cannibalizing their business models by providing integrated bundled solutions: telecommunication, Internet and TV - known under the notion of triple play. To-date, a lot of vendor specific silo approaches are appearing. These approaches lack of three characteristics: cross-vendor interoperability, integrated telecommunication and interactivity. Thus, Standard Development Organizations address the standardization of open interfaces to address these issues. This paper proposes a novel IPTV architecture addressing interoperability, telecommunication and interactivity by designing an integrated IMS-based IPTV solution that fixes personalized and interactive services and their coherent integration. Multicasting is a technique which allows a single transmission to be sent to multiple hosts anywhere on the Internet providing efficient delivery for streaming audio and video content and IPv6 adds a unique and much larger IP address space, provides improved security, efficient routing, support for mobile and an increased number of multicast addresses. Source specific multicast (SSM) is a technique of delivering multicast packets in which the only packets that are delivered to a receiver are those originating from a specific source address requested by the receiver. This paper gives an approach of how to construct a source specific multicast test bed over Internet Protocol version 6 and various issues related to the configuration and deployment would be dealt with, in addition to the experience that we had in its implementation and testing. Granted the importance of IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) as a service control platform for their NGN standards, the present study intends to focus on the information required in this new environment and contributes to the improvement of the home subscriber server (HSS) used to date. Seen from this vantage point, an IMS session must be able to adapt to the mobility and satisfy the SLA (service level agreement) of the user. The proposed solution is based on an informational structure able to answer these needs. Furthermore, the capacity to ensure the seamless mobility with the end-to-end quality of service (QoS) represents a vital criterion of success in the NGN use, the solution posited is based on a convergence of QoS plans namely: data plan, control plan and administration plan.
