Bu amaca ulaşmak için boylamsal panel araştırması yöntemi ile tek gruplu ön test-son test modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın katılımcıları Polis Akademisi Başkanlığına bağlı Polis Amirleri Eğitim Merkezi’nde eğitim gören komiser yardımcısı adaylardır. Bu merkezde bir yıllık sürede teorik ve uygulamalı eğitimlerini başarıyla tamamlayan öğrenciler mesleklerini icra etmeye başlamaktadır. Veri, Örgütsel Sosyalleşme Ölçeği (Chao vd., 1994) ile Örgütsel Vatandaşlık Davranışı Ölçeğinden (Podsakoff vd., 1990) yararlanılarak hazırlanan anket aracılığıyla toplanmıştır. Yapılan analize öğrencilere teorik eğitimin başında, bitiminde ve uygulamalı eğitimin sonunda uygulanan anketlerden elde edilen 1660 veri dâhil edilmiştir. Ulaşılan sonuçlara göre teorik eğitimin örgütsel sosyalleşme üzerinde pozitif yönlü etkisinin olmasına rağmen örgütsel vatandaşlık davranışı üzerinde etkisinin bulunmadığı; buna karşılık uygulamalı eğitimin hem örgütsel sosyalleşme hem örgütsel vatandaşlık davranışı üzerinde pozitif yönlü bir etkisinin olduğu tespit edilmiştir.
