This converter presents a fundamental module for the color structure descriptor (CSD) extraction. The CSD provides a high satisfactory image indexing and retrieval results among all MPEG-7color-based descriptors, but the real time implementation of this descriptor still having problems. We propose a hardware implementation of the RGB to HMMD block using Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs). The proposed implementation architecture can efficiently operate under real time video processing constraints. We have used a new FPGA family to implement the proposed architecture. Synthesis and simulation results of the developed hardware module are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the implemented architecture and to show the simulations results for a real input image.","PeriodicalId":390925,"journal":{"name":"2014 Information and Communication Technologies Innovation and Application (ICTIA)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133371298","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is desirable that the transport layers protocols provide reliability suggestions planned solve problems of congestion and optimize energy. Several proposals have been made for alternative transport protocols, generally oriented to optimize specific aspects and / or application scenarios. We did a study on wireless sensor networks and its various transport mechanisms. We also conducted a comparative study between several transport protocols. Thereafter, we emulated two transport protocols based on two main criteria which are reliability and congestion. We are therefore interested in the results to find the most reliable protocol that provides a transfer with the least loss.","PeriodicalId":390925,"journal":{"name":"2014 Information and Communication Technologies Innovation and Application (ICTIA)","volume":"192 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114222712","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the main issues in the DBMSs is to control the access to the same data items by the transactions in incompatible mode. In RTDBSs, this problem becomes more complicated since the transaction manager must not only avoid data access conflicts, but it has also to provide mechanisms that help transactions to meet their deadlines, to maximize the transactions success ratio. In this paper, we describe The SCC protocol (Speculative Concurrency Control) which is one of the first concurrency control protocol RTDBS. It is based on the transactions duplicating transactions. However, the SCC raises some problems; we propose a new extension of this protocol to solve these problems and to increase the number of transactions meeting their deadline.","PeriodicalId":390925,"journal":{"name":"2014 Information and Communication Technologies Innovation and Application (ICTIA)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130246683","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed approach employs particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm for optimal setting of the problem variables. The PSO-based approach uses the information about the speed and determines the minimum-energy rotor flux parameters. The simulation results are presented and compared with the results of conventional field oriented control (FOC) and the optimized field oriented control (OFOC). The results show that the new PSO-based algorithm is much more efficient than the other methods.","PeriodicalId":390925,"journal":{"name":"2014 Information and Communication Technologies Innovation and Application (ICTIA)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125080027","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The authentication approach consists in hiding, as a mark in the avatar's face, the fingerprint of its owner, who is a virtual world resident. We have used the wavelet packet decomposition and the singular values decomposition methods to achieve the watermarking process. The extracted features from the fingerprint, which are coded to a binary format are inserted into the avatar's face. The developed approach ensures a total imperceptibility and a blind extraction of the watermark. The algorithm has been evaluated against various attack types, where the obtained results are promising.","PeriodicalId":390925,"journal":{"name":"2014 Information and Communication Technologies Innovation and Application (ICTIA)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131843330","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
