As it is known that, the more antennas the transmitter/receiver is equipped with, the more the possible signal paths, the better the performance in terms of data rate and link reliability. However, channel estimation in large-scale MIMO is said to be hampered by the pilot contamination effect, constitute a major reduction for overall system performance. In this paper, we present a novel approach which tackles this problem by enabling a covariance formulation between cells during the channel estimation phase itself, could leads to improver the system performance. Here we present a noble scheme title as large-scale MIMO channel estimation based on circularly symmetric Gaussian covariance matrix. The numerical result shows the significance of proposed scheme.","PeriodicalId":388486,"journal":{"name":"The International Conference on Information Networking 2014 (ICOIN2014)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116866171","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Performance of the initial acquisition by correlator, such as matched filter, degrade the performance due to carrier frequency offset. A countermeasure for carrier frequency offset usually requires significant computational cost, in addition it requires to be performed symbol-by-symbol. In fact, the initial acquisition problem is approximately equivalent to detecting status change of received signal. The status is indicated by the received signal power and direction of arrivals, the status change may be caused by new signal arrival. In our new approach, the matched filter with countermeasure for carrier frequency offset is used only if the status changed is detected and in this paper, we only focus on the status change detector. Energy detector (ED) also has a capability to detect the status change, in addition the detection performance is not affected by carrier offset and the complexity is very low. However, co-channel interference makes the ED difficult. In our proposed method, the test statistic is designed based on covariance matrix which include not only energy information but also direction arrival information, therefore it can achieve better detection performance than the ED. Computer simulation results will show validities and benefits of the proposed method.","PeriodicalId":388486,"journal":{"name":"The International Conference on Information Networking 2014 (ICOIN2014)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128765193","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

When the secondary users (SUs) are equipped with multiple antennas, they can perform SS without interfering with the PU by orthogonalizing the secondary transmission with the interference channel . In order to avoid interference and to maximize the capacity of the secondary transmissions, it is essential that the SUs determine the dimension of the orthogonal transmission space. In CR networks where no cooperation is provided by the PU, this information can be obtained by estimating the number of primary transmit streams at the secondary terminals. We study this issue when the secondary network performs cooperative estimation by using the minimum description length (MDL) algorithm to obtain the independent estimates and propose a decision fusion rule which takes into account the estimation bias of MDL. We will show that the proposed method can outperform conventional decision fusion rule and that it provides additional protection for the PU in the case of estimation error.","PeriodicalId":388486,"journal":{"name":"The International Conference on Information Networking 2014 (ICOIN2014)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121070757","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In all these applications, mobile sensor nodes associate and communicate with different fixed coordinators. Reliable data transmission, maintaining an acceptable level of resiliency, providing seamless handover, effective target tracking and low energy consumption are few of the key requirements of effective communication in MWSNs. Out of these, the work done in this paper focuses on target tracking and the tangible need to have a seamless as well as fast handover in MWSNs. A few studies have been conducted to evaluate the performance of the IEEE 802.15.4 Media Access Control (MAC) layer in MWSNs. Moreover, the paper proposes three different target tracking schemes as part of the handover activity of sensor nodes to demonstrate the feasibility of experiencing seamless handover procedure. The schemes are properly validated through simulation studies.","PeriodicalId":388486,"journal":{"name":"The International Conference on Information Networking 2014 (ICOIN2014)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128479543","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A vehicular ad-hoc network provides a platform that allows a vehicle to connect to a roadside unit and then to the Internet. The connection time to a roadside unit may be short due to the fast moving of a vehicle. In this paper, a collaborative communication model is applied to extend this connection time. Moving vehicles and parking vehicles are separately grouped together. A moving vehicle can cooperate with other moving vehicles in the same group to transmit data to a group of parking vehicles which in turn forward data to the roadside unit. A simple performance analysis shows that this group-to-group communication achieves higher data throughput than one-to-one communication.","PeriodicalId":388486,"journal":{"name":"The International Conference on Information Networking 2014 (ICOIN2014)","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128391021","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many researchers tried to find a good way for it for decades. Many solutions proposed by them have different performance, such as correctness, code coverage, and etc. However there are few attempts to compare those solutions in an objective way. It makes software testers confuse to choose a solution for their purposes. In this paper, we perform empirical evaluations for existing 32 algorithms that are prominent in the domain of fault localization. Through the evaluation we analyze them with some properties such as correctness and categorize them with a clustering method. All the experimental effort has been performed with a tool, named SKKU-FL, which has been developed by us. We consider the influence of some parameters to make the overhead more efficient, and analyze the relay amplification gain can efficiently alleviate the performance loss caused by report channel fading. Moreover, we verify the existence of the optimal number of cooperative users, and explore the influences of the amplification gain and reporting error probability on the optimal number of users. The simulations show that the detection performance of our scheme is improved greatly compared to traditional scheme, and theoretical analysis matches well with simulation, which verifies the correctness of the theoretical analysis. Additionally, the optimal number of users is inversely proportional to the reporting error probability, and it is proportional to the relay amplification gain. In the case of the specific report channels, to achieve the maximum detection probability based on the desired probability of false alarm, the appropriate parameters should be identified, such as the relay amplification gain and the optimum number of cooperative users.","PeriodicalId":388486,"journal":{"name":"The International Conference on Information Networking 2014 (ICOIN2014)","volume":"30 19","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120994736","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
