These disorders remain prevalent in the automotive industry, particularly on assembly lines, and directly impact workers' health and sector productivity. This study aimed to analyze recent scientific literature on work-related musculoskeletal disorders in the automotive industry. The analysis focused on research approaches, preventive practices, identified challenges, and future directions. The study covered the period from 2020 to 2025 and used a state-of-the-art literature review method. The literature was considered an interpretive and contextual field. Searches were conducted in the SciELO, LILACS, PubMed, and BVS databases using free-text and controlled terms combined with Boolean operators and adapted to the specificities of each database. Grey literature was included through Google Scholar. Study selection was conducted in successive stages: screening, full-text reading, and critical analysis guided by research questions. These stages followed predefined eligibility criteria. Of the 297 initial records, six studies met the established criteria. Repetitive movements, static postures, and production pace remain central determinants of the incidence and prevalence of work-related musculoskeletal disorders. The findings underscore the importance of integrating technological development and innovation with the active involvement of workers to build safer, healthier, and more sustainable work environments. Promoting network-based research in which workers play a central role is key to advancing solutions that align with occupational health surveillance guidelines and contemporary workplace challenges.</p>","PeriodicalId":38694,"journal":{"name":"Revista Brasileira de Medicina do Trabalho","volume":"24 ","pages":"e20261462"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2026-02-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC12931144/pdf/","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"147291423","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the available evidence at this level of care remains limited. The objective of this article is to identify and summarize the existing evidence on workplace violence among primary health care workers, considering its prevalence, associated factors, consequences, and preventive measures. An integrative review was conducted using the Web of Science, PubMed, Scopus, SciELO, and Virtual Health Library databases. Quantitative and qualitative studies published in the last 5 years in Spanish, English, or Portuguese were included. Fourteen articles were analyzed. The results showed that verbal workplace violence was the most prevalent form. The most relevant associated factors were being female, working as a nurse or nursing technician, having direct contact with patients, and working shifts. Psychological consequences included feelings of guilt, anxiety, and doubts about professional competence; organizational consequences included increased staff turnover and absenteeism. Preventive measures implemented were scarce and mainly focused on surveillance and communication skills training. The review concludes that verbal workplace violence is highly prevalent and driven by individual, structural, and organizational factors. The aim was to examine the impacts of diabetes mellitus in occupational settings and identify the main work-related factors associated with its occurrence and productivity outcomes. This integrative review was conducted through searches in the Virtual Health Library and PubMed using Portuguese and English descriptors related to diabetes, occupational health, risk factors, and workplace medicine. Studies published in English or Portuguese and relevant grey literature were included. The findings were organized into two thematic categories: economic impact and occupational factors associated with diabetes. Diabetes mellitus was associated with substantial productivity losses, increased absenteeism, presenteeism, and early retirement. Occupational factors such as shift work, long working hours, chronic stress, low job control, and effort-reward imbalance were identified as determinants of type 2 diabetes. A scarcity of studies addressing how workplace conditions influence the management of type 1 diabetes was observed. It was concluded that diabetes mellitus should be recognized as a significant occupational health concern.
