New requirements are in force from 1 January 2015, when Road and Bridge Research Institute informed that each pole liable to a direct vehicle impact has to meet Standard PN-EN 12767. The article presents the design of a novel, safe lighting pole. The novelty lies in the pole simplicity, which results in the manufacturing technology the cost of which is comparable to that of the conventional pole. Compared to the conventional poles of thickness 3 mm and greater, this one is made of thin-walled steel sheet of increased strength parameters and specially designed sleeve that is fixed to the base plate. The crash tests carried out on the track for the impact experiments proved that the requirements of the standards in the driver highest safety class and in the high vehicle kinetic energy absorption were satisfied both for the speed impact 35 km/h and 100 km/h. The numerical model for simulations of the vehicle behaviour during and after the impact was implemented in software Ansys LS-Dyna. The simplifications of some elements were of negligible influence on the analysed phenomena. The comparative parameters were ASI, THIV and exit velocity of the vehicle. The numerical results were close to the empirical ones, therefore they confirmed that finite element analysis can be successfully applied at the stage of elaborating of the initial concepts of the road lightning poles. It follows that the number of expensive crash tests can be reduced.","PeriodicalId":38508,"journal":{"name":"Vibrations in Physical Systems","volume":"31 1","pages":"2020307-1-2020307-8"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"68248473","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Using analytical solutions of models of different device variants, the relationships between their efficiency and flow velocity were presented. By way of analytical considerations, the conditions for high performance operation of the device have been demonstrated, indicating at the same time the difficulty in maintaining it at low operation velocities. As a solution to the problem, the application of external delayed feedback control was proposed and its effectiveness was demonstrated.","PeriodicalId":38508,"journal":{"name":"Vibrations in Physical Systems","volume":"31 1","pages":"2020225-01-2020225-10"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"68248542","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, their response to transient loads still requires further research. In this article, the blast resistance of auxetic and non-auxetic sandwich plates was compared using the finite element method. The first stage of works, that consisted of the analyses of plates with homogenized core with different values of Poisson’s ratio subjected to blast load, proved that auxetic core may increase the resistance to this kind of load. In the next step, two sandwich plates were compared – one with auxetic anti-tetrachiral core and one with a non-auxetic hexagonal honeycomb core. Obtained results indicate that auxetic plate has superior blast resistance when compared with the regular sandwich panel.","PeriodicalId":38508,"journal":{"name":"Vibrations in Physical Systems","volume":"31 1","pages":"2020317-1-2020317-8"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"68249039","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There were undertaken acoustics and vibration measurements of a pharmacy robot under typical working conditions. Point measurements of a one-third octave spectra of a sound pressure levels and RMS values of acceleration were made at measuring points located in the room and at the pharmacy robot. The acoustic tests were divided according to the location of the measurement points into measurements inside room and noise measurements in the near field of the pharmacy robots. The vibration measurements were made directly on the devices. Based on the analysis of the one-third octave spectra of the noise of the Fablox pharmacy robots, the sound components were determined, which are responsible for achieving high noise levels in room. The acoustic measurements in the near field at a distance of 15 cm from the unloading / front side of the pharmacy robot Fablox 1 and Fablox 2 in room, showed that the arithmetically averaged A-sound level on the measuring surface with closed housing for the movement of the head through all three loading modules is higher for the pharmacy robot Fablox 2 (66.9 dB) by 1.7 dB than the equivalent A-sound level for the Fablox 1 (65.2 dB). Due to the fact that the pharmacy robot is mostly used in the working environment in the pharmacy, the noise it generates has a large impact on employees and customers.","PeriodicalId":38508,"journal":{"name":"Vibrations in Physical Systems","volume":"31 1","pages":"2020312-1-2020312-14"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"68249100","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The result of the work is the development of a multicriteria optimization model of a discussed medical robot, considering safety factor, first eigenfrequency and buckling coefficient as a criteria. The article also analyzes two issues of mechanics, the natural frequency and linear buckling. A discrete mesh model of a novel robot design with ten degrees of freedom and ended with a scalpel was developed based on finite element method. For the given loads and supports, a multi-criteria optimization model was evolved, which was solved by using the response surface method and the multi-objective genetic algorithm. The results section shows the Pareto fronts for the criteria and geometrical dimensions of the kinematic chain. The courses of resonant vibrations and buckling strains were also characterized. The solved optimization model gives correct values for the adopted criteria. The values of resonance were defined, which makes it possible to select mechatronic drive systems in terms of the input they generate. Variability of the resonant vibrations phenomena, as well as shapes and directions of buckling, provide information about the displacements taking place in the medical robot system.","PeriodicalId":38508,"journal":{"name":"Vibrations in Physical Systems","volume":"31 1","pages":"2020306-1-2020306-8"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"68248443","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

All violin parts participating in the vibrations of the resonance body (solid and shell parts) are included in the model. Material properties and material orientation (anisotropy) of wood species used to make the violin parts have been taken into account in the model. Properties of spruce have been applied to the top plate (with f-holes) and solid parts. Properties of maple have been applied to the back plate, ribs and bridge. Two basic problems were considered: simulation and analysis of violin body vibrations in the cases of natural vibrations (*Frequency) and forced vibrations excided by strings (*Steady-state dynamics). For this purpose, a universal programming tool in Python using FEM was created, which allows the optimization of any bar structure in terms of its natural frequency. The capabilities of the tool are illustrated in several examples. It has been shown that by changing the tower geometry it is possible to obtain its higher spatial rigidity with a small increase in mass, it is possible to control the frequencies and forms of natural vibrations. Finally, the possibilities of further development of VPL applications in optimization of fundamental natural frequency of constructions and generative architecture were discussed.","PeriodicalId":38508,"journal":{"name":"Vibrations in Physical Systems","volume":"31 1","pages":"2020229-1-2020229-8"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"68248673","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
