However, in current assembly lines measurement data is not available in every process, e.g. not in manual assembly processes. In addition, the integration and combination of data from different sources within the assembly line will require huge efforts during the next years. Therefore, a solely data based approach is not suitable for current optimization projects that usually have to react quickly to occurring challenges. Thus, the research project “MessMo - metrologically supported assembly” uses, benchmarks and combines approaches from machine learning and methodic thinking for modelling, cause-effect-identification and optimization. Three approaches for modelling are utilized, accompanied by one approach for data and process optimization.","PeriodicalId":383922,"journal":{"name":"2019 First International Conference on Societal Automation (SA)","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127401183","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Introducing mathematical and engineering methods into the therapy design process has great potentials in therapy optimization. We investigate the application of a discrete time, impulsive therapy generation algorithm for a model that describes living tumor and dead tumor volume dynamics, drug level dynamics, using mixed-order pharmacokinetics and input saturation. We propose an algorithm that calculates low doses of injections that are required to reach or approximate the best results that can be achieved by the application of the drug. The algorithm is tested based on virtual patients (mice) whose parameters are identified based on measurement from experiments with pegylated liposomal doxorubicin as cytotoxic agent and breast cancer as tumor. The algorithm tested in silico shows much better performance than the protocol used in the experiments.","PeriodicalId":383922,"journal":{"name":"2019 First International Conference on Societal Automation (SA)","volume":"159 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115696885","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In particular, our goal is to classify faulty/healthy switchgear by using infrared images. The paper describes the use of Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) for the generation of new infrared images in order to bolster the meagre, repetitive and unbalanced data available to us. The paper describes the obstacles encountered, potential solutions, and the results of multiple experiments to test the impact of synthetic data on training.","PeriodicalId":383922,"journal":{"name":"2019 First International Conference on Societal Automation (SA)","volume":"131 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123103930","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It constitute the key operation for digital filters as well as object classification, to name a few. Recently we faced implementation issues related to tensor decomposition into orthogonal factors, as well as tensor projections onto the orthogonal tensor bases. Also these rely heavily on the MAC operations. However, a serious problem of the numerical accuracy vs. operation speed of these operations can be observed when implemented with the floating point arithmetic realized in a hardware or a software platform. If not carefully approached, this can lead to significant numerical errors which are frequently overlooked by inexperienced engineers critically relying on standard libraries. In this paper we remind, dust off and discuss some computational aspects of the floating point implementation of the MAC operations in big data signal processing tasks on various platforms, and in different operation modes (serial, parallel, software, hardware). Such algorithms as simple summation, the Kahan algorithm, as well as some hybrid solutions are analyzed in respect to their accuracy, simplicity in implementation, and resource consumption, as well as speed of execution.","PeriodicalId":383922,"journal":{"name":"2019 First International Conference on Societal Automation (SA)","volume":"97 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114326005","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To provide reliable figures sophisticated counting methods are demanded. Previously developed systems, mostly using a single 2D image sensor or a 3D depth sensor, can not fully achieve the required accuracy. In this paper, we present a robust people counting algorithm, based on multi sensor data fusion. Our solution runs on embedded systems with reasonable requirements with respect to computational power. 3D distance information, obtained from the ToF system, is used to perform the basic detection of objects. Once detected, the objects get additional classification features exploiting the data provided by a RGB camera and an IR thermal sensor. We describe the current state of fusing and processing of the collected data including the detection, classification (vital, non-vital), as well as sequential tracking and counting. We provide current counting results along with insights to future development concepts to improve the stated algorithms especially in terms of vital, non-vital classification and object recognition.","PeriodicalId":383922,"journal":{"name":"2019 First International Conference on Societal Automation (SA)","volume":"104 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123322438","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
