Value-based DEA is a recent development that resorts to value assessment protocols from multiple criteria decision analysis (MCDA) to transform the original input/output data to a value scale. In this context, we introduce in this paper a piece-wise linear programming approach to value-based DEA, by employing a data transformation-variable alteration technique and assurance region constraints. These provide decision makers more tools with which to address situations where alternatives present themselves over time. The original triage method provides a criteria with which to divide these alternatives into those that should be selected, those that should be rejected, and those that should be held pending until a later decision epoch. The proposed extensions offer different criteria for accomplishing this partition. Using the concept of simple recourse, the formulated multiobjective stochastic programming problems with simple recourse are transformed into deterministic ones. Taking into account vagueness of judgments of the decision maker, interactive fuzzy programming is presented. In the proposed method, after determining the fuzzy goals of the decision maker, a satisficing solution for the decision maker is derived efficiently by updating the reference membership levels. Extensions to integer programming are also considered. We adapt to the PROMETHEE II outranking method an eliciting procedure named Q-Eval that has been developed in the context of multi-attribute utility theory (MAUT). It refines the estimation of the preference parameters by iteratively querying the DM through pairwise action comparisons. After formalising an extension of this method to two other types of queries: 1) selection of one action from a subset; 2) ranking of a subset of actions, we propose an adaptive query selection scheme that presents to the DM the most discriminating query type at each step of the process. The ability to model both quantitative and qualitative factors in its structure extends the usefulness of the method. Moreover since DEA was initially developed as an efficient measurement tool for non-for-profit situation and since such situations commonly exhibit 'soft factors', the capability to handle such factors becomes a necessity in the field of healthcare system. Screening reduces a decision maker's time and effort because it removes poor alternatives from unnecessary vetting. We consider the case when alternatives arrive at different times in batch sizes. Alternatives may also 'expire', requiring a decision to be made quickly. A triage function uses a value model to partition incoming alternatives into one of three sets: transferred, rejected, or pending. Pending alternatives are cycled back through the process and are reevaluated against a changing cutoff value. Interval parameters account for uncertainty and disagreements between multiple decision makers. Overall, the triage method provides a dynamic, continuous evaluation of potential alternatives with results that are easily defended and communicated. In this paper, we investigate multi-objective economic-statistical design of the EWMA control charts and propose two evolutionary algorithms including non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA-II) and multi-objective genetic algorithm (MOGA) to determine the optimal chart parameters. The cost function used in this paper is Lorenzen and Vance cost function. We also used quadratic Taguchi loss function to determine the costs of producing non-conforming items under both in-control and out-of-control situations. The average run length values in both in-control and out-of-control states are computed by using Markov chain approach. A numerical example is applied to compare the results of proposed algorithms in finding the Pareto optimal solution of the multi-objective economic-statistical model. The breeder (decision-maker) will need an automatic tool allowing him/her to sort these contrasted ideotypes into predefined categories corresponding to several targeted traits. This paper aims to develop such a decision-making module to sort a set of fruit ideotypes into one of five preference-ordered categories in the context of brown rot-peach fruit pathosystem. First, a set of ideotypes with contrasted trade-off between three criteria was produced using multi-objective optimisation algorithms. Then, two multi-criteria decision-making methods (ELECTRE-Tri and DRSA: dominance-based rough set approach) were tested in order to reproduce the classification made by the decision-maker. Such a non-typical classification seemed difficult to be reproduced by the ELECTRE-TRI method while the decision rule-based method gave very good results (only 10% wrong assignments). BOCR structure was determined by providing questionnaires and collecting data from knowledgeable persons who were consumers of the products in wood industry. The BOCR was affected by all factors. All these were weighted by AHP. Also, using questionnaire, the pair-wise comparison was made both for sub-criteria and for four alternatives with respect to the criteria. The multi-dimensional, multicriteria nature of the power substation location problem limits the usefulness of any particular single objective model. Studies have shown that electromagnetic radiations emanating from the high voltage lines and substations, pose serious adverse health consequences to living beings. In this study, social, technological, economical, environmental and site characteristics factors and sub-criteria, have been derived to make the optimal power substation location selection decision more realistic and effectual. In this paper, an improved and more appropriate power substation location evaluation and selection model has been developed by integrating modified Delphi method with fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP).
