From the burning of coal, about 2,100 tons/year of copper (Cu) falls to the Earth's surface annually. Prolonged inhalation intake of Cu into the human body as part of solid particles of atmospheric air from coal-fired boilers leads to accumulation of trace elements in tissues, the development of hyperelementosis. \u0000Aim: to identify the level of Cu accumulation in the hair of the population of the administrative center of the Altai Republic in relation to the content of trace elements in solid particles of snow cover. \u0000Methods: In 122 residents permanently residing in Gorno-Altaysk, the Cu content in the hair was determined in compliance with the necessary exclusion criteria. In the districts of 10 coal-fired boiler houses of the city, snow samples were taken for analysis for the content of Cu in snow water and solid snow particles. The concentration of Cu in the studied samples was determined by atomic absorption method (Kvant-2, Russia). The Mann - Whitney criterion and Spearman correlation coefficient were used for statistical analysis. \u0000Results: the Cu content in the hair of the examined does not depend on gender (U = 1741; p = 0.580), at the age of 4-21 years, the Cu concentration decreases (U = 29; p = 0.05). The concentration of Cu in the hair of residents of Gorno-Altaysk, compared with other regions of the world, corresponds to low values (10.0 mg / kg), hypo- (7.5 mg / kg 31.9%) is more common among the population than hyperelementosis (25 mg / kg - 5.7%). The Cu content in meltwater from all snow intakes in the areas of coal-fired boilers (0.019-0.049 mg / l) does not exceed the permissible concentration (MPC 0.1 mg / l). In the solid phases of snow from 10 samples (19.37-67.42 mg/kg), only three (56.4-67.2 mg/ kg) showed a slight excess of MPC (55 mg/ kg). No correlation was found between the concentration of Cu in the hair of the population and the content of trace elements in solid particles of snow. \u0000Conclusions: The assumption about the accumulation of Cu in the hair of the population of Gorno-Altaysk in elevated concentrations, inhalation intake of trace elements from coal boilers was not confirmed in this study.

To assess the risk of development of disorders caused by excess or lack of fluorine, it is important to have information about the levels of exposure and excretion of fluorine by various routes of intake. \u0000Purpose - to reveal the features of fluoride ion excretion in children exposed to different levels of exposure to fluorine compounds contained in emissions from aluminum production. \u0000Materials and methods. Observation groups were formed from 245 people exposed to a high level of exposure to fluorine compounds, 148 - to a low level. For comparison, a control group was formed of 155 children living in cities that do not have industrial sources of fluorine emission on their territory. Daily urine samples were used as a biomaterial, that reflects the level of excretion. Analysis of the fluoride ion content was carried out by the potentiometric method using a fluorine selective electrode. The correlation with age was estimated by the Spearman coefficient. \u0000Results. The data obtained indicate that the urinary excretion of fluoride ion in children living in the industrial centers of the Irkutsk region does not differ, both in terms of average values and in the proportion of children whose excretion exceeds the reference regional levels. In an individual assessment of fluoride excretion, it was noted that the proportion of children with excretion above the regional reference value in the exposed group was 45.7 3.2%, in the group with low exposure - 43.9 4.1%, and in the control group 47.7 4.0%. The maximum values of fluoride ion excretion in children living in the areas affected by emissions from large aluminum production enterprises are 2.4 times higher than the maximum in the unexposed group, and the average content in the subgroup included in the fourth quartile is higher than in the control group in 1,4 times. \u0000Conclusion. Excretion of fluoride ion with urine in children of industrial centers is associated not only with the level of inhalation exposure, but also has an inverse relationship with age.

A characteristic example of such a nanomaterial is nanoparticles of molybdenum (VI) oxide (MoO3 NPs). The expanding range of application of MoO3 NPs increases the risk of developing pathological disorders in the health of the exposed population, due to the negative effects of the action of this nanomaterial. In this regard, there is a need to assess the potential hazard of MoO3 NPs for human health. Methods: The potential hazard was assessed in accordance with MR 1.2.2522-09. The physical parameters of MoO3 NPs (size, specific surface area, total pore volume, shape) were determined based on the results of our own experimental studies in comparison with MoO3 microparticles. Generalization of information on physicochemical, molecular biological, cytological, physiological and ecological properties was performed according to the data presented in the scientific literature. Based on the predictive-analytical modeling of the properties of MoO3 NPs, the potential hazard coefficient (D) and the coefficient of incompleteness of data assessment (U) was calculated. Results: 84.17% nanopowder consists of spherical particles 100 nm in size, the average diameter of which was 58.80 nm, the specific surface area 3.66 m2/g, and the total pore volume 0.0133 cm3/g. The micropowder consists of prismatic particles, the size of which is 57.99 times larger compared to MoO3 NPs, the specific surface area and total pore volume are 1.17 and 1.18 times smaller, respectively. MoO3 NPs enhance the generation of intracellular free radicals, accumulate in cells, damage organelle membranes, cause DNA strand breaks, affect gene expression and proteomic profile, which leads to cell death. The toxic effects of MoO3 NPs in vivo are showed in pathomorphological changes in the tissues of the liver, organs of the reproductive system, changes in blood parameters, death of exposed animals, and long-term effects. It has been established that MoO3 NPs have an average degree of potential hazard to human health (D = 1.750), the assessment is reliable (U = 0.147). Conclusions: the obtained results should be taken into account when improving the methodology of hygienic regulation of nanomaterials in environmental objects and developing preventive measures for workers and the population exposed to MoO3 NPs.

The public health strategies success used to cope with pandemics is largely determined by psychological factors and mental values prevailing in the community. \u0000The aim was to systematize the psychological response features of various social, professional and national groups representatives during the COVID-19 period within the framework of the main mental ecology provisions. \u0000The review methodological basis was the use of the World Health Organization (WHO) documents and open sources of the Scopus and Web of Science databases on the population mental health in the COVID-19 pandemic conditions. \u0000A significant increase in adaptive and anxiety-depressive disorders during the COVID-19 pandemic is shown. Among the specific mental phenomena associated with the pandemic, coronaphobia, COVID-19-stress syndrome, covid-dissidence manifestations with involvement in conspiracy theories and mythological thinking were identified. The negative infodemia impact on the mental ecology, as well as adherence to anti-epidemic measures and readiness for vaccination, has been established. Negative trends have been demonstrated in communities where the maximum infection and death risk is associated with low adherence to epidemiological measures and vaccination refusal. \u0000Belonging to certain social or professional groups largely determines a person's behavior in relation to a new coronavirus infection within the framework of accepted social norms. Based on the analysis of a large domestic and international data number on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic emergency situation on the human psyche, its significant adverse contribution to the overall mental ecology was noted. The necessity of developing special therapeutic and psycho-prophylactic programs aimed at coping with the stress pandemic impact and treating affective disorders, countering infodemia and strengthening behavioral patterns to maintain mental health and person well-being is substantiated.

The concentration of Pb in human hair is considered as an indicator of environmental pollution, therefore, systematized information on this indicator in the subjects of the Russian Federation (RF) is necessary to assess the effectiveness of environmental measures. \u0000Materials and methods. This is a systematic review following PRISMA guidelines. We performed a systematic search and qualitative synthesis of scientific literature on hair concentrations of lead across Russia between 2011 and 2021. PubMed and e-library were the main sources of scientific information in English and Russian, respectively. Initial search returned 1748 matches. Thirty-seven papers remained for qualitative synthesis after screening and eligibility analysis. \u0000Results. During the study period, the results of studies on 27 subjects of the Russian Federation were published, which is one third of all subjects of the federation. No heterogeneity was observed in sample preparation while methods of laboratory analysis varied between the settings and included inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, atomic absorption spectrometry and inversion voltammetry. The sample sizes ranged from 5 to 5908 individuals. The average lead concentrations varied between 0,01 and 6,54 mg / kg. The greatest concentrations of Cd were reported in the Orenburg (6,54 mg / kg) and Chita Regions (4,35). \u0000Conclusion. Two-thirds of all subjects of the Russian Federation for the period 2011-2021 are not covered by the study, so there are no data on the concentration of lead in the hair of the population of these regions. Further data collection should be performed using representative and sufficient sample samples while presentation of the results should contain detailed information on methods of data collection and analysis to ensure reproducibility and comparability of the findings.

It is known that, according to their technical design, such domestic filters simultaneously remove harmful chemicals and biogenic chemical elements useful for the human body (Ca, Mg, etc.) from water. The use of individual post-treatment water systems can have an adverse effect on human health in areas of the deficient biogeochemical province. \u0000Purpose: Hygienic assessment of the long-term dynamics of the daily consumption of post treated drinking tap water in Vladivostok on the example of the adolescent population. \u0000Methods: A prospective research was performed, which included 4 separate follow-up periods - February of 2012, 2015, 2017 and 2021. The adolescent population of Vladivostok aged 14-17 was investigated. 667 adolescents were examined by interviewing using a specially designed questionnaire. The volume of daily consumption and the frequency of consumption per week of three types of water (tap drinking water, post treated drinking water on individual filters, bottled drinking and mineral water) were recorded. The number of adolescents who do not consume tap drinking water that has been post treated on household devices was taken into account separately. Statistical processing of the received materials was carried out using the "Data Analysis" package in Microsoft Excel 2019. \u0000Results: It has been established that, the share of post treated drinking water in the structure of daily drinking water consumption of Vladivostok adolescent population was 7.6-15.8% over the years of observation. At the same time, the consumption of post treated water increased 4 times among boys and almost 2.5 times among girls (p0.001), and the rate of occurrence (per 100 persons) of boys and girls who do not consume post treated tap water decreased by almost two times (p 0.001). \u0000Conclusions: A pronounced long-term increase in the use of household filters for the post-treatment of physiologically inferior, low-mineralized tap drinking water should be recognized as a population risk factor for a possible deterioration in the health status of the adolescent population in the conditions of the city of Vladivostok, located in the zone of a deficient biogeochemical province.

Firefighters' performance of their occupational duties is associated with significant psycho-emotional stress, as well as the complex influence of harmful and dangerous factors that are a source of risk to their health and life. One of the most important modern tasks of vocational training of employees in the EMERCOM of Russia is the problem of assessing psychophysiological reserves. Сurrently, traditional methods of psychological and psychophysiological testing do not allow a full assessment of psychophysiological reserves, because the degree of adaptation to extreme loads is determined by hereditary traits. \u0000Objective: based on the analysis of neurodynamic and cognitive functions, to determine the genotypes of genes responsible for monoamine regulation of the brain, associated with high adaptive capabilities to long-term exposure to harmful factors of occupational activity of firefighters. \u0000Methods: As part of the work, 453 people were examined, of which 234 people were the main group (firefighters), and 219 people were the control group. Testing was carried out using the following methods: "Correction test with Landolt rings", "Mnsterberg test" and "Schulte tables", "Reaction to a moving object", "Simple visual-motor reaction" and KR-3-85 test batteries. Genotyping was performed using 5 candidate genes 5-HTTLPR or 5HTT, 5HT2A, COMT, DRD1, DRD2 / ANKK1. \u0000Results: Analysis of the results of the study of indicators of attention, neurodynamic properties of the central nervous system and cognitive mental processes in the comparison groups, depending on the nature of the occupational tasks performed and employment duration, indicates the strain of the functional systems of the body during long-term work (more than 5 years) in the main study group ( firefighters). Firefighters carrying 5HTT L / L, 5HT2A C / C, COMT Val / Val, DRD2 / ANKK1 Glu / Glu genotypes, according to the results of most of the methods used, have statistically significantly higher rates than firefighters, carriers of 5HTT S / S, 5HT2A T / genotypes T, COMT Met / Met, DRD2 / ANKK1 Lis / Lis and at the same time lower indicators compared to individuals with similar genotypes from the control group. \u0000Conclusion: The conducted studies have shown that there are no changes in the level of attention and neurodynamic properties of the central nervous system depending on the polymorphic variants of the DRD1 gene, and the indicators of cognitive mental processes in the control and main groups differ depending on the polymorphic variants of the COMT gene. The findings indicate the expediency of practical application of studies of the 5HTT, 5HT2A, and DRD2 / ANKK1 genes. The use of molecular genetic criteria will allow to make timely management decisions to preserve the health and professional longevity of firefighters, as well as to increase the efficiency of using robotic equipment in fire extinguishing, which will help to reduce material damage, sanitary and irreparable loss

The state of endoecological homeostasis of the oral cavityi sensured by the colonization resistance of the microbiota, as well as protective reactions on the part of immune and epithelial cells, including the buccal epithelium. \u0000Aim. To establish the cytomorphological features of the buccal epithelium and the state of the microbiota that colonizes the biotopes of the oral cavity in individuals with periodontitis living in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation. \u0000Methods. A cross-sectional clinical and laboratory examination of 91 people permanently residing in the conditions of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation was carried out. Cytomorphological studies (index evaluation and detection of anomalies) of buccal epitheliocytes, molecular genetic studies (isolation of periodontopathogens by real-time PCR), statistical analysis of the data obtained were performed. \u0000Results. The results of the index evaluation in the group with periodontitis were unsatisfactory: cell differentiation index - 85%, p0.001, keratinization index - 88%, p0.001. The frequency of detection of cytogenetic disorders, indicators of apoptosis and proliferative processes also prevailed in the group of patients with periodontitis: micronuclei 88%, protrusions 71.6%, proliferation rates 89.5%, karyolysis 10.4% and karyorrhexis 26.8%. Most often (70.1%) markers of P. gingivalis were detected, in 41.8% of cases - T. forsythia, associations of periodontopathogens in 17.8%. Positive correlations of moderate and weak degree were revealed between the presence of cells with cytomorphological disorders with the definition of P. gingivalis: cells with micronuclei (r=0.413, p0.001), cells with protrusions (r=0.228, p=0.029), presence binuclear cells (r=0.402, p0.001) and indicators of apoptosis (r=0.283, p=0.006 and r=0.383, p0.001), as well as between all the studied cytomorphological disorders and the release of the periodontalpathogen T.forsythia. Direct correlations of the average degree of strength were established between the isolation of periodontopathogens in associations and the presence of cells with protrusions, indicators of proliferation and apoptosis. \u0000Conclusions. Inflammation of periodontal tissues is provided by shifts in the endoecological balance: the combined action of periodontalpathogenic microbes that trigger a cascade of immune responses, leading to damage to the tissue microenvironment, primarily buccal epithelial cells.
